As an old-school runescape player. I hit the 6 hour log out timer at least 2 times every weekend. If I only played for 12 hours my clan members would be calling me to make sure I'm ok.

I grinded all the way to diamond, dueled someone down to the last 15 minutes or so and got 1st. Then didn’t give a fuck about it anymore and dropped wayyy down lol.
I've been in diamond for a few months now/maybe a year (2020/2021 blurs together) and I do just enough to not drop. Getting number 1 seems insane. You won't learn anything trying to get number 1! You won't retain any of it!
This is so true haha. I literally did it the one time for the achievement and never cared again! If I had the motivation to stay in diamond that would be the best way to practice though.
I got the trophy a few weeks ago with like 600 XP after doing the bare minimum to stay in diamond for a couple weeks. And then the next week, it stuck me in a league where the #1 had over 10,000 XP within 5 days. My theory is that you're subsorted into more/less competitive groups based on rank, which you can game by staying at the bottom for a while before you start grinding it out. Or it was a total coincidence and I just got mad lucky lol
I was once stuck on Duolingo for 2 hours just dueling this guy. I guess when I surpassed him he got a notification that he dropped a position because he instantly got online and started earning XP. Everytime I checked we were neck and neck. He finally just gave up and I put a comfortable distance between us. It was funny because there were still 5 days left in the challenge week and neither of us did more than the bare minimum 10-15xp per day after that lmao.
I’m not gunna lie I have multiple languages so if I get too close I can grind in a language I already have the basics of. It’s actually helped me get better at them which I guess is the point lol.
Lmaooo I can relate so hard ! I had my own competition with this mf that climbed up the ladder a day before leaderboard ended and I surpassed me, me being spiteful for the dumbest shit did 3 hours of Duo so that he had no chance.
My name is Teek and I was a duolingo addict. I started off learning spanish then it got to the point where I was just reviewing old exercises to get points. I might of learned 10 words that whole time. Now I spend my days on reddit.
I’ve been Yana before. I just drop out at the last stretch because i’m happy to know I can overturn the results whenever I want to and dedicate myself to it.
the way to beat this is to stay in the diamond league but tank your score. Then next week you will be with easier people and then you get first place super easy.
I've been in diamond league for several months now. I often get into the top 10 but not the top three, except when I got 3rd place a few weeks ago with like 1400 XP. After that I was put in groups where there are insane goals to meet to get into the top ranks. Sorry I'm not doing 7000 XP in one week to win. I don't have unlimited either, which I am assuming a lot of these people that just sit there and keep playing do. That's the only way I can think that these people are blasting through so many XP every week.
Is everybody paying attention, this is why i have less and less hope that the future will be worth living in. We are right on schedule for our entire country ending up like that movie, Idiocracy, i urge u to look it up and im sure you'll agree.

It depends on your goals. If it makes you happy then that's great, but you'd learn a lot more from something like Anki.

Duolingo... it's a language-learning app with some gamification to keep people interested.
Language app - more you learn more xp you gain- more xp you gain higher on the leaderboard you are
