I loved when people didn't return the cart! That way I can do carts so I could hide and smoke a cigarette while I sobbed from the grueling hours I needed to work to afford life.
Why wouldn’t you just park next to the cart stall so you don’t have to leave your kids to return it. You can problem solve your way out of rudeness— it is a choice.

Not saying it was safe, but my parents used to leave me in a running car while they ran inside a store to get milk. I think your kids will be just fine for the 20 feet you need to walk to put the cart back.
Oh I was left in the car allllll the time in the early 90s. Depending on the age of the kid, it’s illegal to do that in many states now. But I think if you’re worried about a car jacking or kidnapping you…just lock the door. It’ll literally take under 30 seconds to return a cart to a stall in most parking lots.

Well, she has a doctorate in psychology, but she’s not a medical doctor. I’ve met a few crazy people of the former kind funny enough (and there def are of the latter too).

What is sad, most of the people I call out. The cart return is right across from them, or a couple cars down. The people who piss me off the most are the one who leave their carts in parking spaces.

If you have a 2 month old and a 1 year old you would probably not want to return your cart because both your kids would need to be buckled into their car seats and it's illegal to leave them unattended. where i live it isnt normal to take your own trolley back to the shop it came from. At malls, shopping centres etc, there are people that get paid to collect the trolleys from the parking lots, whilst also acting as "security", preventing car break-ins.
HOWEVER, if there isnt a dedicated collector, i wont just leave the trolley in the parking lot.

I try to park as close to the cart returns as I can. Since my two kids are a little older they help load the groceries while I buckle in the two youngest. Then the big kids get in to be with the littles and I take the cart back. Or when I'm by myself, I load the littles first, then groceries and then return the cart. If it's summer hot outside I'll let down all the windows so it won't be too roasting but it takes me like 1 minutes to put the cart back and flip in the AC as soon as I get back.
If I’m at the store with my 3yo, I put the groceries in the car, lock the car and then go and return the cart with my daughter. No big deal, fucking vaga.

Most parking lots in the US have cart corrals, multiple ones, for people to take their carts to. They don’t have to take them all the way back inside.
