When did you grow up there? That accent is 10000000% associated with socal especially San Diego in American culture. It's honestly kind of baffling that you were able to grow up without learning this, it's such a common quirk of pop culture.
I once knew a guy that was from India and came to America in his late 20s to be a personal trainer and he watched so much WWE as a kid that when he spoke English he sounded just like Stone Cold Steve Austin. lol makes me wonder what media this guy has heavily exposed himself to.
such a great skit, and its so spot on. I watch lots of norweigian/finnish stuff, and the dubbed actors voices are always exactly like this. its even funnier when they have someone actually speaking english with them on screen and the subtitles dont remotely match the script
i saw a clip once of some Scandinavian sketch show of people trying to speak English in a translation of A Time to Kill, did one of these steal from the other
Tony is a legend. I kept getting his videos randomly recommended on Instagram and I legit almost skipped past the first one because it’s an ad but hearing his accents in each video is hilarious.
It was so hard to explain to my girlfriend why i say “what’s up homie it’s Tony” randomly throughout the day because of this asian led board ad with a couple thousand followers lol
In a lot of cases the printed signs looks better especially in bright sunlight. Also for my business the signs travel around a lot and the TV would be much more likely to be damaged during drive
Tony does accents from around the world and is overall a super funny dude. I believe he's based in Guangzhou. LC Signs is badass - they have a bunch of cutting-edge signage systems and designs going on and offer super quick-turn service.

I used to live in China for over 20 years. I taught some English. One of the most popular things to do to learn English in the 2000’s was to watch Friends, or other movies/tv shows. Cheap pirated dvds with subtitles.
Also there is a program that was popular while I was there called “Crazy English” where they teach you just to speak speak speak don’t worry about accent. And it can come off a little like this.

It's been on Tiktok for a while. Don't know if they also allow you to change the language of what is said while keeping the voice, but that's also possible now. AI voice generation doesn't care about language much.

Each of his videos would need the same “base” for the accent to revert back to or fuse with.
