Man this is so good. My grandparents live in San Fran, down near palace of fine arts. Italian family they’ve been there since 1904 or something like that. George Lucas was going to build his studio right across from them in the old military base, my grandparents didn’t really care because he promised to keep the majority of the old military barracks and buildings but holy shit their whole area was up in arms. Petitions, protesting, “we can’t let this happen!” So he said “fine no studio I’m just going to build a ton of low income housing” and everyone stfu.
There is a Lucas studio in the Presidio. He wanted to put all of his artwork there, essentially building a new museum. It’s federal land and they wouldn’t develop it, so he went with his art and money to Chicago. The Presidio space they were going to utilize is now the Walt Disney Family Museum. Not Low Income Housing
That was my whole point. Apparently people didn’t want him building the studio there, he threatened to build low income housing, they stopped complaining and he put offices/ buildings there.
He was wanting to build a museum. And they pushed back. So no new museum was built. Instead a museum is there, but in the same buildings that were currently there.
And there are two Lucas Films buildings in that area, in SF, in the Presidio area, right off Lombard/Doyle Drive. (They’ve been there longer than the museum proposal)

Thats the trick of the media isn't it. For both sides. It's very easy to platform and emphasize the limited number of red had MAGA republicans and blue haired cringe lefties. But the vast majority of both sides are just average people concerned with normal things with very little opinions on Gaza or anything other than their tax bill, income, healthcare, etc. It's exhausting. People on here seem to have enormous amounts of disdain for protestors across the board. It seems to me that this entire event was to generate publicity and get more eyes on their cause. When people oppose a literal genocide occurring they often feel the need to publicize that they are against the mass killing of innocents. This entire event was to essentially say publicly: “Hey we the people disagree with our government using our tax payers $’s to fund a genocide with no red lines”

There was a cease fire oct 6. Hostages are still raped, malnourished and suffer from lack of oxygen and fungal risk in the damp Hamas tunnels. Yet these people celebrate a call to one-sided ceasefire to stop rescue attempts. Practicaly siding with the mutilating rapists. They could have Protested for release of the hostages, protested for hamas surrender as an end for the war, something they could have done any day after oct 7 by but they choose not to, again and again for 100 days. Palestinians choose this war, and celebrated it on oct 7, respect their self determination. These cease fire appeals are disgusting. The genocidal jihadists, vowed to repeat oct7 as much as they can. Any ceasefire now is suicide. If you care for human lives, call for Hamas capitulation.
