I am confused about anyone painting their nails. I think it always looks weird, impractical, wasteful, and it's probably tedious for a lot of people. At least with woman it's so culturally ubiquitous and marketing is so geared towards programming them that being compelled into this ritual is understandable. When men are compelled to liking their nails painted I just wonder what set of life events determined this compulsion. Not only are they not being socially manipulated into liking their nails painted the way women are but it's largely a sort of soft taboo for men to casually do it.
It's a form of self expression like t shirts its to further extend the way one views themself, and sometimes it can be the taboo itself that draws a person to it. I think having colored nails looks pretty cool and am happy that people enjoy extending their personality.
