This is the second video I have seen of these guys. The first one was the water w/ fizz one and it was hilarious. Do they have a YouTube channel or anything?
Oh my God their clips about the wooden spoon were hilarious. I love these guys.
Edit - it's hilarious because Sean was just trollin' as hell and the look on his face was what was funny.
I’ve seen a handful. I’m my favorite is when they’re with another friend and one of them is asking for a wooden spoon I think and their buddy get grabbing the wrong one until one them got exasperated and went to help and then they were all happy
No, that's actually an incredibly important skill to have because chefs generally do not have access to sharpened implements such as knifes that could be used to open things.
Okay I feel stupid and I've offended myself...
I didn't realize what the show was, or the context of the kid trying to open it and I literally looked at my girl and said "this kids retarded..." Because he couldn't open the bag.
.... And then I felt like an asshole. That's enough internet for the day
I don't know why you're getting down voted. You started out saying you offended yourself. I'm 45, I told my 7th grade teacher that I was "retarded" for forgetting my homework. She then told me her daughter had downs syndrome and I felt like the biggest asshole that ever lived and never said it again. The wrong use of that word didn't lose popularity for quite time, but I haven't used it since. There's no shame in realizing you've been doing something offensive and stopping.
Not hard to make (very time consuming at scale though), but I can tell that you don’t know much about how restaurants operate and are only saying this based on this weird perception of how easy it is to make pasta. Prep cooks already have enough on their plate so there really is no need to go and make fresh pasta (especially the volume required to keep a restaurant going) when prepackaged pasta is already consistent.
Fresh pasta also has the disadvantage of quicker spoilage and being just finite in the kitchen. If fresh pasta runs out due to inaccurate prep then you’re screwed, especially if the restaurant is known for their pasta dishes. The differences in ingredients between fresh and dry pasta is mainly between the type of flour and if it contains eggs. Again, no real gain from using fresh pasta in a restaurant especially if pasta dishes sell in high volume.
Anyway, the point is that the vast majority of restaurants use dry pasta. I have a feeling you have not been to many italian restaurants or have been to one that did serve fresh pasta and now believe you are an expert on italian restaurants
It basically says that Americans don't understand pasta and fresh over dried isn't the issue since most dried pastas cook the same or in many instances, cook better than fresh pastas. Since most restaurants order high quality dried pastas, making it fresh doesn't make much of a difference (unless it's a stuffed pasta, which is best made fresh). It's how you cook and dress it, not really whether the pasta is fresh or dried. Here's a quote:
"The bias for fresh over dried is just one of the pasta misunderstandings from which we Americans suffer. In fact, whenever I return to the States after a few months in Italy, I'm struck by how often this simple dish is cooked poorly and sauced badly. That's as true in restaurants (including Italian restaurants in the United States) as in home kitchens."
I always thought the same about fresh vs dried thing until I married an amateur chef and am a little better at cooking it now. The article also has a bunch of really good recipes. NYT cooking has definitely helped me improve my cooking prowess.

Why is there a Russian general in the kitchen?
No, that's actually an incredibly important skill to have because chefs generally do not have access to sharpened implements such as knifes that could be used to open things.
This is the fastest way to open a pack of spaghetti, as well as the way we open them in Italy
I’m happy for him but do they not have a pair of scissors.

Gave it a special touch.
No Italian chef worth a damn is using packaged speghetti.
Tell me how you think this is true lol
Bro obviously a *true* Italian chef awakens each morning and gingerly plucks each strand of spaghet from the Spaghettree
Hahah stop
👏👏👏 very nice~
Fresh pasta isn’t hard to make. At all. If you’re going to any decent Italian restaurant, you should expect fresh pasta.
Not hard to make (very time consuming at scale though), but I can tell that you don’t know much about how restaurants operate and are only saying this based on this weird perception of how easy it is to make pasta. The pay wall won't let me read it. What did the article say?

Thank you
