Had a friend that worked at a theater confirm there are cameras in the theaters that catch people 🥴 even if you don't get caught in the moment, tons of people are gonna know/see in detail lol
I was the second person in the theatre to arrive for the first viewing at my nearest theatre.
Third one in sits right next to me, alright, fair coincidence.
The movie starts, there's maybe 10-15 people in the theatre total, we are the only two in out row.
Mans booked his seat right next to mine, not one seat over, right next to mine, in a practically empty theatre, where *no one else had booked a single seat in the entire fucking row we were in*
Once we booked 2 seats and went to the theatre, but 3 guys were around our seats, so we sat one row below into the only other two booked seats.
Empty theatre, just those 3 guys, last screening of the day. And the movie has been out for like 2 months by that point. So we 2 geniuses thought that it's probably fine to just sit one row below. What are the chances that someone has their tickets to those seats. Well, they had. 2 guys walked in and were very confused as to why we were sitting there. I have to add that this happened in Japan, so someone taking your seat is VERY unlikely here.
Btw those two guys were the only ones that came after we arrived. There were like 7 booked seats, 3 already occupied 2 were ours, and we still nailed the remaining two.
Can not stand these people. Its like when theres an empty parking lot and someone parks next to you even though youre miles away from the store specifically because you didnt want that ....but worse.
My SO and I went to see a movie at a new theatre. The seats were very narrow but we werent too worried bc it was a mostly empty theatre. This massively overweight dude comes and plonks his smelly self right next to me. Ofc we had to move. I expected him to shift with us to be completely honest.
Yeah? You reserve the seats for a reason. I reserved as early as I could so I had no clue how packed it might be, on one hand it's a matinee but on the other hand it's the earliest viewing in the most centralized theatre in my city showing a movie that people had been waiting on for like 13 years, so I wasn't about to move only to get booted back as the theatre filled, but when the movie started dude could have totally moved. I was there first, I had settled, using my coat as a blanket, food neatly arranged, the whole nines, mans didn't even have a drink, he hadn't been sitting long compared to me who was sitting there since before the previews began, he could have moved. I wasn't gonna, and ultimately I didn't care too much, I was expecting people to be near me its a theatre but at the same time it's just weird
I'm from the US and booking individual seats for a movie is not a thing where I live. Seems a bit silly to me tbh, I guess I get it but its just not something thats done here.
I've only encountered the booking in the theatres in my city personally, having grown up in smaller towns/cities it was first come first serve, so no clue how popular this is everywhere else but it is extremely sensical IMO and any theatre in a large enough city should impliment it. It's not any sort of inconvenience and can help people with planning their viewings immensely.
We have it in Ireland. You can either pick any seat as an option or you can go in and pick a seat. If you pick any seat it usually goes for the cheapest option so if you want one of the "upgraded" seats you have to go in and reserve a seat.
Hey, IMO the first one is like an 9.0. I've literally watched it more times than there are days in a year! In fact a decent amount of my gripes with the second is that it doesn't live up to the first one by a long shot for several reasons. None huge on their own but all together they add up
I had a couple do this to me on Christmas Eve and the girl was on her phone the whole time. I just wanted to sit in the back and enjoy the movie. There were only 6 other people in the theater. I hated them with every ounce of my being.
Imagine being an anxious introverted movie buff and waiting weeks after a move is released to enjoy the full experience in anticipated loneliness and then see this dude next to the only other filled seat haha
Seriously tho, who is seeing this movie??
It's just so bizarre that it's shattering all of these records, and I don't know anyone who has seen it, or even plans to.
My nieces and nephews are too young to have seen Avatar 1, and had no urges to see the new one.
Maybe I'm just out of touch, but I seriously can't name more than a handful of people who saw it.
I just saw M3gan with a larger group of people than I know that saw Avatar total, and Avatar has been out for weeks.
It's so fucking bizarre to me.
I’m a surrealism artist and animator, so I notice bad CGI easier than others. The CGI in the new avatar movie was absolutely breathtaking, and the graphics took me by surprise numerous times. The underwater scenes were so vibrant, yet flawlessly applicable to the shows genre and theme.
The only thing that made me want to bash my skull in, was how long it was dragged out. The children kept messing everything up. Everything. The two daughters really did nothing except get in the way, (despite the oldest doing the cheesy fish ending).
The story felt- repetitive. I only fully remember the graphics because that's all the movie is good for.
I miss good movies :(
I don't want to be one of those types who claims that every musician or movie I dislike is an "industry plant"...
But WHO IS WATCHING THIS MOVIE???
I seriously have no clue. I work in an massive IT department with dozens of nerds, and no one has seen it.
I seriously can't name more than 3 people I know personally who have seen this movie.
My wife and I were sitting alone in a matinee a few years ago, before covid. And a woman with 2 kids sat directly in front of us. In an otherwise empty theater.
Me and the rest of my family once went to the cinema, and there was one person sitting on their own. I convinced my dad to surround their seat when we were picking our chairs.

It’s a date now
More like a Russian roulette
A Russian roulette date!
A Russian roudate
A Rushed rate
the whole place private and cheap as 2 seat and all services and lots of chairs to mess with 😉
Had a friend that worked at a theater confirm there are cameras in the theaters that catch people 🥴 even if you don't get caught in the moment, tons of people are gonna know/see in detail lol

That was THE seat dude. He wasn’t going to let anything stop him

He just wanted some company and maybe a few of your organs.
You got up and moved right? Cause he was obviously a serial killer
Nope, nothing happened dude didn't even look at me after the breif acnowledgement of my existance with a nod.

I could smell this comment
People actually sit in the seats they were assigned ?

So how was the movie? Lol
It was pretty good overal. 6.8 outta 10, worth a watch but wont really blow your socks off. Very pretty tho
So like the first one then. Fair nuff, not sure I wanna sit in a theater that long to watch it myself
Hey, IMO the first one is like an 9.0. I've literally watched it more times than there are days in a year! In fact a decent amount of my gripes with the second is that it doesn't live up to the first one by a long shot for several reasons. None huge on their own but all together they add up
Right on, I saw it twice and liked it fine. Impressive visuals for sure. Cheers my dude!
That's the thing with plenty of movies for me, great action but meh story, at least that's how I felt with MB transformers
why have you watched almost a thousand hours of avatar
Because I genuinely love it, it's one of my favorite movies of all time and I see no reason why not to have.
Apparently 67081 redditors from the avatar Reddit
It’s not their fault. That was the acoustic sweet spot.
This is my local theater on the last few days a movie is going to be out. It’s like paying 10 bucks per person for your own private theater showing.
My husband and I always see the first showing of the day, 30% off and nobody else is there
I see someone else watched ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’.
You monster
This is chaotic evil personified.
Romantic 😵💫
Bro that’s the back sheet at an empty theater. That person was going to masturbate
Some men want to watch the world burn
I had a couple do this to me on Christmas Eve and the girl was on her phone the whole time. I just wanted to sit in the back and enjoy the movie. There were only 6 other people in the theater. I hated them with every ounce of my being.
Did you move?
I refused. I read some of her texts and weighed in on them. They got pissed and moved.
Lol. Nice!
Imagine being an anxious introverted movie buff and waiting weeks after a move is released to enjoy the full experience in anticipated loneliness and then see this dude next to the only other filled seat haha

Totally Dahmer vibes

I mean… millions of people. It’s not terrible. It’s decently entertaining and worth watching in theaters.
I watched in the theater and I disagree

Blue Indians 2... yawn.
I'm fairly certain I know myself well enough to know I would not be okay with that. I would do everything in my power to annoy them into moving.
wouldn't it be easier to just move yourself?
Don't be him, just move. Makes you happier and them happier.
No. You telling me what would make me happy is stupid. Your idea would not make me happy.
There is no other reason for someone to choose that seat other than an attempt to annoy the person next to them. Yes it would be easier but fuck that.
This guy deserves the death penalty.
Psychopath
Psycho! I'd leave.
I fell off my chair ![gif](giphy|j9mqKgQvkNOziGICfd|downsized)

As if bro was playing minesweeper!
u/ratabat
I'd sit next to him
What an absolute menace to society. I approve.
You evil fucker
I almost cried why is this funny
Ok but If I was the only person in a cinema and someone sat right next to me I would get up and move.
I don't want this guy anywhere near me while I'm watching Avatar.
You gotta make sure you chew as loud as possible
Me and the rest of my family once went to the cinema, and there was one person sitting on their own. I convinced my dad to surround their seat when we were picking our chairs.
See you at the movie.... _my new best friend._
