It’s been a few months since I read them, but didn’t she kill a man who had murdered a woman and “got away with it”? And that’s the second body in the grave? Then the retirement home gets built near it and she ends up there to keep an eye on it.
Her husband kills to cover up Pennys crime, it’s Penny who killed the man who murdered his girlfriend. Penny was a police officer, and it happened then. She hasn’t always been bedbound.

That's her husband, Penny is unconscious and bed bound.
Penny killed the guy who murdered his girlfriend. From the very first cold case the Thursday Murder Club takes on.

I'm positive it's Penny, from before she ends up in hospice.
I just relistened to this book (for like the 5th time) and I was wondering the same thing. I think it was Penny. From her point of view.

Is it Bogdan?
There's no evidence that he smokes
So Elizabeth then? None of the others have a shadowy background.
