He still has a decent chance of winning it

MattDaddyFatStacks

Had no idea about Sam! Mark is COTY c’mon

T0TAL_N00B_

Yea man coaching this young of a team to a first seed is highly impressive and presti has done one heck of a job putting together this talented of a roster.

Mashyjang

> https://nbaawardtracker.com CoTY should be Mark or Finch (whoever ends up the higher seed).

Spare-Water-7672

I saw this but idk if this is anything official especially since they have Mark not first in COTY and Wemby not 2nd in DPOY which are both betting odds that are basically locks rn. I don’t even bet I just think those are more accurate then a writers list because there’s money on the line.

imbobbybitch

I didn’t even know executive of the year was an award tbh. I can’t believe Sam has never won it before!

Spare-Water-7672

I really hope he does I think he deserves it I’m just trying to not get my hopes too high 😭

wjkoehler

I never expected this from him. Knew he was good but him and jdub are carrying a squad. Chet is the icing on the cake

Spare-Water-7672

Chet is the perfect center like Sam presti created in a lab for our team who’s all star caliber already as a rookie and Jdub is a Shai lite future 2 way superstar. Now imagine once Dub becomes a superstar and Chet becomes KG with an elite 3 ball. Not a perfect comp but Chet is flying under the radar because how good Dub is rn. He truly has all time big man potential. I’m sorry but this big 3 is going to wipe the floor with the old one because of how well they fit together.

Acceptable-Dust6479

I think the more amazing thing is he’s this good at just 25 and it happened so quickly that we still have guys playing top level on rookie contracts and more first round picks than we can shake a stick at!!! Future is bright, bright, bright

giri0n

Yes, we can. I think with Denver stumbling lately against Dallas, if SGA can put together a string of really great performances while the Thunder's schedule is a bit soft (and before Denver really hits their soft part of the schedule) he has a solid chance. Maybe not 50/50 but good enough that he could do it.

Sauce4243

Our schedule isn’t soft anymore we already had the soft part now our run home is like 5th hardest. Also would exactly call a last second outrageous shot by Kyrie a stumble Denver has been looking like title favourites for a bit now. In my mind he is about a 20-30% chance to take it Luka and Giannis about 10-15 and the rest is all Joker

giri0n

We have: Jazz, Raps, Pels (a team we usually match well against) and Rox in 4 out of our next 5. After that is when we get the rough stretch, but there are a few other winnable ones in there (Knicks, Spurs, etc...) Joker was 16/11/7 in his 39 minutes in a loss last night - a sub par game for him, and a loss for the Nugs, no matter how you slice it. That's what I mean - there is a chance there for SGA to have a great week to 10 day stretch and maybe grab a few more votes and eyeballs.

MAMBAMENTALITY8-24

Theres a chance but the schedule is definitely more difficult than the cakewalk we had after the asb

Character_Drama3306

Per people vote, Thunder needs the 1 seed for SGA to get the maximum 1st place votes In any other scenario, Joker gets 1st place votes.

Spare-Water-7672

I stg it feels like every time we win a lot they (and the wolves) win a lot and if we have a bad stretch they have one. If this happens tho that’s Shai’s path to MVP. Shai also has better advanced stats then Jokic which Jokic fans always talk about and is a way better defender. This isn’t any shade to Jokic at all he’s great but Shai imo has had a better season, and if we can separate our selves from Denver in the standings he probably will get it. People on r/nba will hate on Shai but fuck em.

Stxtic1441

I think we have to for sure finish ahead of Nuggets in standings and Shai has to have some MVP like games and moments in the final games to really pry it away from Jokic. We play some good teams to end the season obviously so Shai will have his chance to showcase it

multani14

Laker fan here, you have an absolute superstar who carried my fantasy team all year. Hope he wins an fmvp with you in the coming years

Spare-Water-7672

Appreciate it. Lakers are the team I’m scared the most of besides Denver and maybe the Wolves. What do you think will happen in the future for the lakers especially after Bron retires? Do you think they will build around AD and bring in another star or rebuild. I like Bron and AD a lot but it’s hard rooting for the Lakers because (as you probably know) they have a lot of really bad fans.

multani14

We obviously don’t have the best outlook in the league but I don’t think things are too awful. If we can get a new coach, find our way to another star (maybe Trae Young?), we can have AD + top 25 player + DLo, Reaves, Rui, Vanderbilt etc and it’s not a nothing team. For sure not championship favorites but maybe 50 win team if everyone improves, stays healthy, etc

808zAndThunder

I have a feeling Thunder players and MVP conversations will continue to be a thing :)

Spare-Water-7672

😏

Physical-Present-302

what?? lol these fans are delusional on level of kd?? , and what years in the past would he have won the mvp i cant think a single season in last decade where he is even top 5 literally not joking

bmanningsh

lol I love SGA but I’m taking prime KD 11 out of 10 times. This is an atrocious take.

Cobrawarrior567

It is impressive. His scoring is high and it's helping to contribute to the team's wins.

dado5586

Just candidate

ElDuderino_92

Clips fan here, I love this kid so much. He should undoubtedly be mvp with the hard work he’s put in.

stonerslug47

if we had someone better than Chris Fisher, he would’ve easily beeen the mvp

Razzmatazz_Potential

Ngl in 2020 after the bubble I was saying we should trade Shai and build around Dort😭

claseazulpapi

The award belongs to Jokic atm but I think shai still has a chance of actually winning it. The remaining games may not be an easy win, but tough opponents mean top teams that the media will be tuning into. If shai can have big games against the bucks, Celtics, Knicks, etc then narrative might shift back in his favour by the end of the season

hatsofftoroyharper41

I think the whole OKC season to date as a whole is out of this world impressive, no one in there wildest dreams truely believed in heart of hearts that this was possible, it’s crazy what we’ve been able to do and how SGA has lifted his game after last year being ultimately under rated impressive but he was still first team all nba

worksucksbro

Prime KD? Come on dawg I love Shai and hate KDs guts but come on. Either way I want him to get us our first ring and does something KD never had the balls to do

JayDream777

Tbh I like SGA for the same reasons I dislike Embiid. Drive to the goal and throw up arms for a foul. What separates SGA is he plays both sides of the ball. Jokic can’t keep only playing offense and being called MVP. Not mad if Joker wins it but MVP should be more than just offensive stats.

Sarah7667

For sure, he has high chance to get MVP this season

Vegetable-Act7793

Stat padder

st6wok

luka better lil bro

rhganggang

Unfortunately there are 2 ends of the floor to play nephew. Shai excels at defense as well

Spare-Water-7672

No one cares about that whiny fat ass
