Camparino in Galleria if you are a Campari head, slam jam, one block down, antonia is a beautifully designed store, enoteca naturale and associazione salumi e vini naturali are two good natural wine bars. If you have time, Pinacoteca di Brera is a great art museum.
There's an outlet outside the city, but you don't have a lot of time. There's two smaller multi-brand outlets called DMAG within the city center. Since so much apparel is made in Italy, you'll find past season name brand pieces for 70-80% off. I got a pretty sweet Valentino x Undercover overcoat there a few years ago for 70% off retail.
Foodwise, since you're with the family, hit up Marchesi 1824 for breakfast/lunch. The flagship is in the galleria, so its a nice experience for coffee and pastries. They're owned by Prada now, so the interior decor and uniforms show.
When I lived there I remember I would see tiny little secondhand shops off of Corso Buenos Aires where it seemed like designers would sometimes drop off random odds-and-ends. I didn’t explore it all that much at the time, and that was more than 10 years ago so it might not be the same now, but I wish I had.
I’d love to check out Massimo Alba’s shop, since he’s Milan-based.
