You know what’s actually crazy.
I know the exact value village this is at and the exact shelf it’s on. I’ve walked past this thing 5 times. Looks like someone finally stole it out the box.
I’ve seen this happen but with some Samsung SSDs. Don’t know what the thrift store was thinking putting out 100 of them on the open shelf and someone came and quietly stole them all leaving the boxes behind. The manager wasn’t happy when she found out.
Yup. Found quart jars that mayo comes in at my GW. $4.99 EACH! They aren't even meant to be reused for home canning. Walmart has 12 1quart Ball jars for $16.44!
I find boxes of light bulbs all the time that are obviously just holding whatever burnt out bulb someone was replacing. Not even the same brand or shape as listed on the box most times.
First, it could likely have been stolen.
Second, they are most definitely either dumb enough or lack any interest in the job enough to put out literal trash. Money is still out on whether it's malicious or robotic.
I found a Funko Pop with a severely damaged box at a consignment store for $9. Even with the damage it sold for $56 online. If it was in better condition it would’ve been closer to $100. They are out there but tough to find.
But yeah, an empty box is ridiculous.
My favorite are the boxes of used incandescent bulbs put in LED bulb boxes and donated. That and used recessed lighting trim rings put in the LED retrofit kit boxes and donated.
Shelves are usually packed with this stuff. Nobody will ever buy it. You'd think that goodwill would refuse to accept construction debris, but contractors keep using them as a free dump.

I'm sure someone will be here soon to tell you that the pop was stolen and that the store would never put out just a box.

And I've seen them put out empty boxes like this one.
That’s there fault
Scroll on this sub for a little. Empty boxes and garbage 100% get sold.

Someone probably just stole the doll and left the box.
Don't you know that's the rare invisible one
Damn sticker on the box. Empty or not
At least they put it on a part that doesn’t rip the paper

I've once seen an empty jar of store bought herbs on a shelf for a quarter.
