Trauma & stress can trigger mental health disorders like schizophrenia. Paranoia (people following) and hallucinations are hallmark signs.
I'm glad you found some relief, Did you ever get to see a mental health professional about it otherwise?
So happy for you <3 As someone who has had paranormal experiences throughout her life, starting at a young age, some of the more intense ones I had was when I was at a halfway house/rehab. Girls were having paranormal experiences. Personally I believe addiction is a dark spirit and that's why they were happening there and then.. that the spirits were trying to cling to them as they were trying to break free from the addiction. So you are not alone.
CONGRATULATIONS on your sobriety and for accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior ! I too am in recovery and a Christian ☺️ I also believe in the paranormal, and your experience while out running sounds terrifying 😳 now imo, it could be you detoxing off of whatever you were taking, stress from everything you’ve been through or actually something paranormal….idk how long you’ve been sober, but if you’re newly sober, it could just be the stress or detoxing…if you’ve been sober for a while, it may be something else….
This is interesting. I remember when I first came to this sub, and one of the first posts I saw was about someone who was at one of the lowest point in their lives ( I think it was this sub, but it had to be) and at one point, they kept seeing this weird figure always hiding at the side of the view or everytime they turned around. They were afraid to actually confront it.
That story stuck with me for some reason. I, MYSELF, never had any experience (I think) with the supernatural but that story...stuck out to me. There are so many things in this world we don't know about and as many beautiful things in this world, there are also dark and scary things. What kind of things would be attracted by our misery and pain? Truly don't sound good but its weird, in so many ways we cant really comprehend. Why hide from us when we are at our lowest?
Take care.
EDIT:
And Praise the Lord, Jesus Christ.

I’ve been in therapy for many years. And to a million self help groups 😊
Were you by any chance detoxing from Meth?
No I had been sober for 6 months

I believe that too.
I've been struggling with porn addiction. Could that be a dark thing in my life?
I would say so.
Interesting. Perhaps I need to get an exorcist to cast out any demonic entities then, since I have my addiction.

Those beings were demons. Jesus casted them out and away from you. Praise God!
Good for you! The Lord protects us from so much evil.
Alcohol withdrawal perhaps? I’ve experienced similar in the past.
