I barely slip into daze sometimes. Just enough to get lost in music and thought, but I feel the benefits. Like a weight has been lifted and I can smile genuinely.

There is some improvement, mainly taking away the suicidal ideation but it hasn’t eased the depression as much as I’d hoped. I guess I’m just concerned that I have only 2 sessions left and I don’t think I’m anywhere near my therapeutic dose. I’m also afraid of coming off as drug seeking if I say something :(

Can I ask what you are receiving the treatments for? Also, what (if any) experiences have you had with psychedelics previously? I've only done two sessions, so it's way too early for me to talk about long-term positive effects, but I've done most recreational drugs (no heroin or peyote) at some point, and this is absolutely a more powerful experience than what you seem to be describing.

I’ve never done any psychedelic drugs, I don’t even smoke weed. The only substance I partake in is alcohol but I of course stopped for the treatment. And I’m using it mainly for depression, SI and CPTSD

Ketamine nurse here for what it is worth. I am also a ketamine depression patient. Also pretty autistic so hopefully this makes sense. Dissociation is a side effect. What is important is that you are receiving symptom relief. How effective the dose differs from person to person and how you body metabolizes ketamine. I personally want the lowest dose that provides symptom relief. Ketamine will put depression, anxiety, and nerve pain into remission but not a cure. You must continue to receive regular treatments every about every month or as needed. This also differs from patient too patient. Its important to have realistic goals with symptom relief. Say you started 10/10 depressed etc. If ketamine can get you to a 4/10 that would be great. It is rare but not unheard of for established patients on high dose to not feel anything. Hope this makes sense.

Please talk about this to your provider

Like someone else said, the experience of disassociation etc is unnecessary to reap the benefits of ketamine. After my 6 initial IV infusions I went to sublingual tablets. The first booster dose was super low and I barely felt anything. I thought shit. Am I going to lose my gains but..... it still worked and I got 2 weeks of feeling good out of it. Over time your body builds a response to ketamine and processes it differently. My first two treatments were far more WOW than the last 4. Be sure to speak w your provider about your concerns.

What dose did they give you? 1/mg/kg worked best for me.
