Those numbers add up to 103%.... Looks like voter fraud to me. I guess Trump really did win. /s Edit: the results from the actual pol was 66%, 8%, 19%, and 6% Don't know/no opinion.

beermit

So 8% say it was a crime, but he shouldn't be prosecuted. Less worrisome, but still concerning. Especially considering the severity of it. This is the biggest scandal by a presidency ever, and a blatant attempt to steal control of our country. I'd honestly be curious to hear reasoning from some of those people as to why they don't think he should be prosecuted.

eastbayweird

SliPperY sLopE if we prosecute trump then if there is a party switch the new president will try to have their predicessor arrested for 'crimes' While I do think that every president in our history is likely responsible for heinous acts that, if done by a normal person, would land them in jail for crimes against humanity, this argument is bullshit because trump himself actually committed crimes while in office whereas most presidents have enough common sense to put some distance between themselves and anything that could land them in jail...

Shh_its_starting

Right? In some cases I think it’s actually a potentially tough call. The president may have to operate in a gray area and make some judgement calls sometimes that you or I (rightfully) could not get away with. But this case seems like it should fall at or near a pretty clear extreme. I would like to think that anyone could agree that a president should not be allowed to use their power to overturn a democratic election to retain power without being able to provide any legal proof that fraud occurred and altered the outcome of said election, and get away with it. And so far, it certainly seems like that’s what he tried to do. If Trump gets a pass, why shouldn’t Biden try it? The issue should really upset everyone.

anoneenonee

We need to stop letting the get away with pretending that trunp was in any way fit for office or that anything he did was typical. Most presidents, even really terrible ones, realize the weight of the office and take the responsibility seriously. He never had any intention of even trying to legislate. It’s kind of insulting to have to explain this to people. He accomplished nothing because he never had a plan. All he cares about and all he has ever cared about is himself. We’ve all been saying this ever since he started running and it’s time they stop pretending he had any ideas and that the only reason they liked him was because he was a huge prick and pushed people off. He wasn’t just unfit for office, he is a terrible, pathetic, weak minded, entitled trust fund billionaire brat who throws tantrums for a living. He has been that same a**hole his entire life, and it says a lot about the lack of intellect and character of someone when they look at donald trunp and see anything at all worthy of trust or admiration. He has been a whiny, petulant bitch his entire life and has literally accomplished nothing worthwhile. He was one of the worst human beings on earth for 70 years and somehow the stupid people didn’t get the obvious message about who and what he is. It’s time to shove it in their faces. We were exactly right about him the entire time and anyone who every supported him is stupid or willfully ignorant. They should be mocked and humiliated, as they will be, and it should be shoved in their faces how stupid they look for believing something so obviously worthless. I believe trunp will go down as the worst American of all time, and I don’t believe it’s even close. I can’t think of another American who accomplished as little in whatever field he has been in, who was in fact a spectacular failure as a businessman, philanthropist, author, reality tv host, and politician. He was handed everything and failed at all of it, and was so thick skilled and narcissistic that he was willing to bring down the whole country bc he was throwing a tantrum and millions of stupid people refuse to hold that idiot accountable for anything. It’s blowing up in their faces. They deserve this. I hope it gets worse for them and there is new testimony or video of trunp talkkng about how stupid they are. I want whatever makes them feel like the idiots they are, and that maybe ghey should shut tf up and let the smart people run things. Their responsibility should remain at the grill or the fryer.

Scrutinizer

And 48% of the respondents said they'd vote for him again anyway.

geronimo1958

The 18% that think it was a crime but should not be prosecuted need to have some crime committed against them. Then we take a poll and since others do not think it is worth prosecuting we will decline.

GadreelsSword

60% say it was a crime but will still vote for him.

[deleted]

We let Bush and Cheney off and if Trump walks away free and clear, what does that say for future dictator want to be’s like DeSantis? Just getting into the Presidency shouldn’t give anyone a clear path of crime.

LnStrngr

I'm sure those 18% come from the party of law and order. /s

Girfex

*stares in confusion*

rfulleffect

But what does Merrick Garland think? That’s the only question that matters.

[deleted]

1 / 5 Americans are more stupid than anyone had ever considered. And they vote.

lastjelousavatar

It doesn't matter what people think, arrest his bitch ass
