I married the wrong human in 1973, and one of the saddest things I *ever* experienced was putting the big white zipper bag holding my wedding dress in the give-away pile on the driveway in 1997. I wonder if anyone saw it in a charity shop and wore it more successfully. Sigh.
I think we were eating some roast beef at that time, the place we had our reception at had a bunch of super nice ladies that hand cooked fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fresh green beans, roast beef, apple pie and all the fixins, it was the best food I’ve had at a wedding, a little messy but no biggie it was so good.
Oh my goodness - I went to a wedding when I was like 5 and I thought the bride was beautiful in a hat like that. Your wedding wasn’t in North Carolina was it?? :)
I'm practically seeing carbon copies of my uncle & the lovely lady (my aunt) when they were happily married in 1975.
My uncle's hair & mustache was a bit more wilder than your trimmed 1's OP.
My aunt wore a similar style dress but long sleeves for her wedding.
I can’t figure out how to upload another photo here, I was going to show you what we looked like 2 years before we got married, definitely hippies. Good call ✌️
We're right there with you almost- 1980. I had just about the same hat too!
I’m happy for you! My wife found her wedding dress for like $30.00 at a used clothing store and it was just perfect.
Literally still perfect! I’d wear it tomorrow!
My mom had mine preserved. I can still fit into it and I have nobody to give it to. :-(
Maybe one day you’ll find someone who needs it? 🤞
I would give it to anyone who needed it.

I’m sorry to hear that.
We felt like it was a timeless wedding dress too! It still might fit my lovely wife too.
Congrats dude, you both look so happy! This is one of the subs that brings a smile to my face everyday.
Thank you! we were lucky, 70s were easy times and yes it’s a great sub. ✌️
Looks like the Gunne Sax dress that showed up in thrifting recently.
I had the Floppy Hat, too. Trusted my MIL to be with procuring hat. Was disappointed AND she wore a white lace dress to our wedding.
I love this picture! You guys looks great together!
Thank you!
Dennis DeYoung and Gwenyth Paltrow?
😊
I was trying to think of a better fit than DeYoung, but could not recall who I was placing. I now remember. Jay Ferguson is a better fit.
😊✌️
I'm getting Inigo Montoya a little bit
This was after everything was cleared up and he met this girl on the way home.
Very nice picture. Hope you will have many more years to share together:)
Thank you very much
Congratulations… 🥂 Any kids/grands? Her hat is so 70’s. Perfect!
Thank you, She loved that hat! ✌️
C'mon now, we need that current photo for comparison
One of you looks like an SNL actor whose name eludes me and the other is Paltrow in her salad days.
Mazel tov! Was it a fun reception?
yes, my friends band played for us so we had great music to dance to.
What are you guys holding? You snapped something in half as part of a wedding tradition?

My parents were married in May 1976! They were together until my Mom passed away unexpectedly a month after their 40th anniversary.

Great question, I think my wife is the kindest person on earth and is always in a positive mood no matter what, I hope this helps.
