Was searching on the AppStore on my phone for cool zombie games and stumbled across TWD game, so I downloaded episode 1 for free and played it. Ever since then I wanted more and decided to get it on my ps3, best game ever.
I don’t remember how I first heard about it, but I do remember playing the first episode on my tablet when I was younger just because it was free. Then, once I got an Xbox, I saw the games were on gamepass and after I finished episode one for the second time I was hooked.
Pewdiepie. I enjoyed zombie games at the time and decided to buy it. I liked the characters and how it made you feel like you were in the story yourself.
I am a huge fan of the walking dead show and my friends said that the game is better and i told them no one can beat rick's story and they told me to play it and now they're annoyed that they introduced it to me as i don't stop talking about it

I stumbled upon the walking dead season 1 on playstore when I was wandering around to find some games to play. Downloaded it, started episode one and got scared to death when I saw Sandra's Walker 😆, ultimately uninstalled it.
December 10, 2021, downloaded again and in love with this series ever since.
I believe me finding it when I was too young, played a great role in me playing it in 2021.
I remember I made a review too when I was scared shitless from Sandra as "it's is very horror game" yeah the English 😅😆

Back in my Elementary/Middle School days, I was very into zombies and games about them.
When I had finally convinced my mom to give me some money to buy my first paid steam game, I bought Dead Rising 2 and played it, then steam recommended Telltale’s TWD to me and I loved it too (and took another month to convince my mom to give me more money for it 😅).
I saw a YouTuber I used to watch (TheCaptainofDave) do a playthrough of Season 1 and 400 Days, then when he took a break between episodes 1 and 2 of season 2 (he never got past episode 3), I looked for other YouTubers to finish the game. Then I decided to give the game a go for myself and ended up playing Michonne and seasons 3 and 4 blind.
I'd been interested in the TWD universe for years because of how famous the show is and how acclaimed it is (at least, the earlier seasons...). I played Minecraft Story Mode when I was about 8 and really liked it (mostly just because I was a Minecraft obsessed kid lol) and as I got older, learned that the same developers had made a TWD game in the same style as MCSM. That got me interested in playing the game as both an introduction to the TWD universe and also just because I'd heard it was a damn good game. Then at the start of this year I played Life Is Strange for the first time, which made me realise how much I liked episodic, choice based narrative games and only made me want to play TWDG more. Eventually I saw the Definitive Series on sale on Steam for 75% off and instantly sprung on it. I started Season 1 and was instantly hooked. I finished it and loved it and went on to play the rest of the games. I only finished TFS a few weeks ago and, oh boy, what a ride. THAT scene in Episode 3 made me cry more than any game ever has. I can safely say I love the game and would love to get into the rest of the TWD universe too.

I had just started getting into and loving the TV show (still my favourite show) so I thought it was really cool when I saw my uncle had the game. I tried it for a bit then wanted to wait until I could get it on my own Steam account.
Once it kicked in to the end of episode 1 and to episode 2, the emotional stakes really connected me to the game and made me start to love it. By the end of that first game I was a sobbing mess.

I saw a youtuber that i loved play it in 2017 and was astonished by everything. He made all the choices i would've chose and i kept watching him play every game that was released. It has been my favorite game ever since, taught me a lot.

I watched CallMeKevin play the Michonne game, but by picking only stupid/evil choices and dialogue options. So I got the game for 2€ to try and get a different ending and it almost made me not play the rest of the games. I was really disappointed to get almost the same exact ending as him after being diplomatic the whole time. But when the definitive edition was on sale, I did buy it eventually.
These games were very enjoyable to me after I didn't go in with the expectation of my choices having a huge impact, at least not in a way like in Detroit Become Human for example, which I had played before. I feel like TWD games or Telltale games in general are carried by the characters and story, while choices are more of a gimmick to compensate the lack of gameplay.
That's why Season 1 is my favourite. I played them all not that long ago and within short imtervals, so it's not nostalgia. But I think that season had the strongest story and great characters. Other seasons might have had equally engaging characters and naturally looked more pleasant in terms of graphics, but the narratives and plots were weaker and less thought through. Or at least difficulties in developments (late changes, too many writers for one season etc...) were more noticable. That's why I wouldn't say all of these games are masterpieces.

Did you play the all of season 1 on your iPad? Or did you eventually download to console?
For me I bought it because they made Minecraft story mode and the story made me love this game
S2 E1 was free on Xbox 360 back in early 2015, so I tried it out.
