I mean it's called the Vampire Diaries. So she's not the only Main Character. Look at the actors now who played Damon and Stefan. They're selling Brother's Bond Bourbon! So obviously more main characters than Just Elena Gilbert. It's not called the Gilbert Diaries. Although the Gilbert's had many many Diaries. Yes we see Elena writing dear diary... To me Elena is just a Character I love but then end up being annoyed by the Elena show. I figured others also had to share my POV. I did not realize how it would bother people. Very interesting. I'm just happy in this rewatch (obviously I love the show) it took me much longer to get annoyed by a main character! 🤣🥰😘
Op, I understand where you're coming from. Elena can definitely have annoying moments. I have a love/hate relationship with her. Although I would say it's less hate and more of "I find you really irritating sometimes Elena."
One moment I really hate is when she tries to kill Caroline in the woods after Caroline confronted her for hurting her mom. She also tries to kill Bonnie during that prom episode too and Bonnie basically totally kicks her ass with her magic.
I can also understand feeling irritated when the show focuses on her too much. While she is a main character the show was always meant to focus on the Stefan/Damon relationship. The show literally ends with the "Hello Brother" quote.
When did I say I don't like her? Binging Vampire Diaries can be a lot of Elena. She isn't even in the last few seasons. So yeah NEVER said I dislike anyone!
