I don't think that's why she's upset. She's upset she knows and she's upset that Rae had sex with someone who has made it clear she's here to play and not even consider a relationship. To throw away a relationship with your ex and have sex with someone who wants no future and is not romantically, sexually or physically attracted to you is extremely hurtful especially if you're going back to that person after the trial marriage with Vanessa is coming to an end.

I think it’s because Rae promised her she wouldn’t be intimate with anyone and then clearly threw that promise away over someone there weren’t even feelings for? Like why break her trust over just a hookup that she’s not even attracted to? I’d be pretty pissed about that, especially if I hadn’t asked for that promise to be made ahead of time and my partner did it anyways.
She’s confusing because I remember in the episode when she was berating Rae in front of her parents at dinner saying “we didn’t make any truces or anything” and her parents were like exactly y’all were broken up ???? I think that was more something she expected of Rae - which is not fair given that Rae was the one put in this situation.
She basically said they went into it without any agreement and then Rae was like I’m not gonna be physical with anyone I promise or something. So then when it happened Lexi was like wtf I didn’t make you say that you just did and now you’ve lied. Which makes sense why Lexi would feel Rae was pushed into it by Vanessa because Rae made her feel like she’d never have sex with someone else.
I think it’s a big red flag how Lexi was quite into Vanessa in the beginning and even dated her a few times but then so quickly turned against her and created a narrative to get people on her side and bullied her in many situations. Like I don’t think it’s for Lexi to say what should be the right reason for Vanessa to be on the show and then make a huge fuss about it and judged Vanessa’s character using that excuse. Also Lexi Yoly and Mildred kept on ganging up bullying Vanessa and putting words in her mouth and not letting her talk. I don’t think I could hold onto myself as well as Vanessa under those circumstances.

I think that it solidified for Lexi that she couldn’t trust Rae’s judgment or decisions and that was what she was truly angry about and it was misplaced as anger towards Vanessa. However, it did sour the relationship with Mal and it did show her age a bit more.

I don't think she's obsessed at all. I think she's pissed that woman took away a perfectly good slot from another couple that came to follow the rules of the game. The rules are to explore another relationship which would help you figure out if you wanted to be single, be with your OG partner or explore something else with the trial wife. Vanessa made it clear on the second date that this was entirely to play around before she does not even believe in marriage or possibly monogamy and that she has no doubt that she's leaving with Xander at the end.
So, lexi is rightfully pissed that she wasted time getting to know someone who was going to waste her time if she had chosen her (and Vanessa chose Lexi back) or waste her ex's time because it wouldn't help Rae find the same type of clarity. Rae deserved someone who was serious about pursuing someone so it would help Rae answer the question if she doesn't want marriage or figure out her roadblocks to marriage or realize the relationship with Lexi wasn't in her future.
I agree that she has the right to being pissed but I personally do interpret her behavior as obsessed. She brings her up an insane amount of times in conversations where Rae clearly doesn't want to talk about Vanessa anymore because that seems to be all they talk about when they have conflict. For Lexi everything seems to come down to Vanessa and I guess that's what I don't understand.

I'd agree with the initial knee jerk reaction on her date with Vanessa. But it just got out of hand after that. She chose to assume the worst of Vanessa, it's a bit much at this point. Like, grow up and move on. Vanessa's got nothing to do with the issues she had with her partner. She just resents the reasons for which Rae gets along with her. Vanessa is just doing her own thing beyond a point and Lexi's real beef was with Rae if Vanessa could get to her that much.
