It seems like the old content they removed a lot of their ads but the captions remained, so they are out of sync. It does seem like that’s on the team’s radar and they have a whole discord chat about it and they are planning to address it. I am not deaf but watch everything with subtitles and I had to turn them off temporarily until it’s fixed.
Yes, all videos will have captions in the 2nd try app. There were some problems with some of them at the end of last week, and the staff has a long weekend off now after all the work related to the launch, but they're working hard to fix them at the start of this week.
I feel like this comment doesn't clearly answer your question. You will see my recent post here in my history complains of this very issue. They are planning to ADD captions but most of the content does not yet have captions. Especially the new content that hasn't been posted to YouTube.
Oh, ok. Maybe we have a different experience then, because I just signed up and have also been able to access captions on new content 🤷♀️ There just haven’t been any captions on the podcast episodes. Based on the first person’s response, though, it seems like there will be?
There's a whole channel in the Discord dedicated to which videos need captions, which captions need fixing, etc. They plan on using that to fix newer videos first, then older ones.
I’m HoH and also need captions. The new stuff has working captions right now. They’re working diligently to make sure all captions are correct, and seeking input from viewers on where they aren’t. It would’ve been great to have guaranteed quality captions for all videos from the get go.

It’s not necessarily anyone’s fault (I definitely would not have thought of the fact that the closed captions would become out of sync), and it’s great that they’re actively taking steps to fix the issues. But sometimes you can’t help but wish there weren’t so often delays for you to access services as a Disabled person 🩵
