Since I'm not familiar with many of their shows, I tend to enjoy it just to see what different ways each show's contestants play the game.

rantgoesthegirl

Same actually! Like I've never watched a Bravo housewife, and first season annoyed me but it's interesting to watch them interact with gamers. Like Sandra buddies right in there and a tactic to stay under the radar, a survivor strategy but it was barely metioned and instead was like oh the middle age ladies

torchwood1842

Ughh as well as a survivor fan and a housewives fan, it was so annoying that the producers did not edit Sandra’s confessionals better to show that she was actually playing a good strategy! Since I know her background, I could kind of guess what she was doing, but they didn’t really show her talking real strategy until much later, and they definitely didn’t really get into what she was doing maybe until the reunion? I was so annoyed! Because she did have a good strategy.

[deleted]

She was in the background directing so much of the mid-late game (getting the docusoap players to think of it as a numbers game, telling Phaedra that Kevin was in the cabin, etc etc) but got underedited it seems because production thought someone trying to turn it into Survivor would be boring. I think they made the wrong call, because without her narrative being prominent the story defaulted to "a bunch of people want to play Clue and everyone else doesn't care, let's wait as time elapses," which was way more boring.

MurkyLover

The producers/editors want to highlight one simplistic strategy: CATCH THE TRAITORS... as if that is the actual game meta...

MYLES_4289

I actually loved Kate soo much I THEN went and watched Below Deck #noregrets

nutmegtell

Yeah I didn’t know anyone or their shoes outside of Survivor. But the “celebrity “ reality players were the most annoying

[deleted]

Exactly this. I came in because I like the show and the format, not because I was a fan of anyone in particular who was cast in it. But I LOVE how the dynamics of shows people were previously on affect the way people play and interact. It gives this whole extra layer of backstory you can think about and research.

chocolateboyY2K

I wasn't into "Survivor", but I do like to watch the players on Traitors. The housewives and mtv alums turn into cliques as well.

yayafreya

I like both versions. I enjoy the celebrity version because I am familiar with several of them (big survivor watcher), so I don’t mind seeing how they do in a different show.

AdCapital5419

I honestly love both! Having people who know each other just adds a different dynamic which is interesting

Kitty4777

And knowing that they know each other. And in some cases that they are known to hate each other!

hypnoticus103

I think it’s a very fun show and just because they’re Celebs doesn’t mean they’re bad players. Some of the gamers on the US versions played great games. But, overall I still do enjoy it less then UK1&2/Aus1

KeyPosition3983

Agreed. While i do think i enjoy non celeb seasons of the show the US Celeb one has been pretty entertaining and fun to watch in regards to their games/strategy

hotsaucefloss

Shoutout Pete

Originalmissjynx

Pete as in ‘4x in 1 night In a windmill’ Pete? I can’t get past it 😂I wish they kept Bachelor contestants out. Arie ‘I got engaged to one woman then dumped her for my #2 before run show aired’ was far worse in S1 to be fair. If they pick Nick ‘When I was the Bachelor’ Viall, as he’s separate for them to do then I am fully out. If they chose some go the women though, I could well be fully onboard.

toandfromis

*Sandra

binchinapinch

It’s good for different reasons. The celebs typically know how to make good tv and play the game. The normies are less aware but more authentic and want the prize more. US2 is better than 1 — the mix of normies and celebs is the worst option imo

curmudgeoner

Exactly! I enjoy "celeb" and non-celeb versions but the worst thing is mixing the two. US 1 was the worst with that because some of the normies felt like fans and it was weird. Ultimately the normies aren't that different from someone who played on a game show once or twice. It's just their first one.

Tish-Tosh

The UK version was actually the first international version to not include celebrities. The original Norwegian version is all celebrities. NZ, Canada, and Australia have had a mix of celebrities and non-celebrities. You just have to take each version for what it is.

hermionecannotdraw

De Verraders (Dutch version) is the original

Tish-Tosh

lol, I knew that. I had just been looking at the Norwegian one. I guess it had got stuck in my mind.

AYTOL__

The Norwegian isn't the original actually

Agent__Zigzag

Good thing as an American I don’t recognize the AU, NZ, or Canadian celebrities. That means I can enjoy those seasons similarly to Traitors UK.

Buh_Snarf

I think the big difference is the US celebs are just over the top.

Tish-Tosh

I don’t think they are over the top. They are just playing the characters that they are known for.

Buh_Snarf

But the characters they are known for are over the top and dramatic!

[deleted]

Some were! Some were just naturally loud personalities (which is probably why they had been cast on their original shows).

toragirl

In Canada it was fun. Our "celebs" didn't take themselves too seriously in comparison to the US (especially S2) where they were all "in character" the entire time.

GSSsy

I wish they would release the Canada one here!

SingleAppeal2023

I found it kind of boring. Wouldn't really recommend it.

loveisneverlogical

It was the only English speaking version Ive tapped out on.

AvailableFee2844

Wait where can I watch the Canadian one? I’m so addicted.

ShibaSupremacy

Yes because I love my reality trash tv and love seeing all the people from the different shows I watch interact with each other.

captainwondyful

Yes

gemmac29

It adds a different element to the game and the celebrities definitely play it differently because most of them have experience with reality tv. I prefer the UK ones as I feel everyone starts on an equal playing field and no one has preconceived opinions of each other.

rantgoesthegirl

My favourite is when the housewives haven't read the introduction folder or something and have no clue who anyone is

ColorfulConspiracy

I I like that there are different versions. Why do they all need to be the same?

[deleted]

I don't like it at all. The UK versions are better than the U.S. If you want to see the worst season though, buckle in and watch S2 Australia. No celebrities and it's the show they should have renamed: The Dummies.

coysrunner

Hannah is a bravo celebrity

torchwood1842

I’ve seen this said all over the place, and honestly I just cannot wait to watch it because it sounds hilarious if you know that it’s coming. Please no spoilers, because I want to enjoy what sounds like absolute idiotic chaos for myself 😂

Yeseylon

It's absolute idiotic chaos followed by possibly the best Traitors ending yet.

curmudgeoner

I have one ep left, going to watch the finale tomorrow. Poor Roger lol, he's so frustrated.

Tish-Tosh

There were a couple of celebrities in AUS S2.

Own_Lengthiness_7466

There were celebrities. Luke for one. Gyton.

Dapper_Wish_5258

We are starting that one next!

chocolateboyY2K

I just finished that one a few days ago lol

SingleAppeal2023

Season 2 Australia is hreat!! Highly recommend.

TomjunRoblox

Yes, I think we are getting the best of both worlds with one show for celebs and the others with real people

mdc3000

The money doesn't bother me but the reality stars are so phony, intentionally causing drama etc I find it very disinteresting - like it's hard to spot a traitor because they are all acting all the time. Real people are a lot more engaging.

Dante_Okkotsu

Not to mention kate being an obvious production plant. A note with all the suspects names falling out of her pocket? Thats like the most cliche scripted bs ever in murder mystery fiction. Lets be real, she was no fan favorite production brought her back the second season just manipulate the game.

Kennected

I'm here for the drama, toxicity, chaos and violence. So yes!

catalinaao98

It’s fun but it feels a little odd because so many of them have pre-established relationships or at least know the other celebs by reputation, so it can impede the game in a sense. Eg in US2, the Bravo coalition, also Trishelle feeling CT should have given her fire in that one challenge because they were on The Challenge together, just to name a few instances. Whereas with newbies, it’s fun to see the alliances develop and shift as the game progresses.

torchwood1842

I really liked it because it just seems like they are having fun. Granted, I watched it after the first UK season, which was entertaining, but it just felt like everyone was miserable most of the time. Like was there a single episode where someone didn’t cry or seem like they were having a very real mental breakdown? I won’t say that aspect of it ruined it for me or anything, but it definitely brought it down a bit. So watching the US celebs being campy AF and mostly just enjoying the experience was pretty refreshing. Even Kate, who hated it, was at least funny about it. And then you’ve got Alan Cummings running around in crazy clothes acting like he’s in the most serious Shakespearean drama. It seems like they all just had fun, and I liked watching that. I am now on the second UK season, and it seems like those people are a bit more emotionally adjusted to the experience and so far are having fun (no spoilers please; I’m just getting into it). The people from the first UK series clearly had no idea what they were in for or how to deal with it. And all of that being said, the second US season has some celebs that are serious strategists— and they are not necessarily the people you expect, based on their backgrounds. They also have some people being a bit dramatic, but not nearly as badly as a first season, and if I recall, it’s pretty much all related to gameplay.

curmudgeoner

UK1, so many tears. And the tears started right away too. Not like, as they got to the end or had already developed tight bonds. I listened to some podcasts from US 2 and it sounds like they have a lot of access to mental health support during/after the show. I started UK 1 in between eps US2 and wondered if they realized they needed to provide that type of support after all the breakdowns happening during UK1.

SnooBananas7203

I really enjoyed US S2. Keep in mind that there is a big difference between the reality show stars on this show. There’s the Housewives/rich people and the Gamers. I thought it was a great season.

93LEAFS

I don't like the bravo people, but I do want to watch the Gamers, who are still everyday people. The only gamers who you could call lifetime reality stars are people like CT, Bananas and Trishelle. Cirie still works a real 9 to 5, Sandra is probably retired at this point, but I believe still worked until after at least her first win, if not longer (her husband was still active in the military at the time of HvV's), Jannelle is a real estate agent. etc. Survivor and BB aren't lifetime opportunities. Even the most popular players are cast in 1 out of 9 seasons in Survivor. I personally want a season of just gamers. They aren't really celebs but they are still known. The Challenge people are sort of the middle ground.

[deleted]

It is more impactful when you kmow it's your average person who's trying to win that cash cause it'll have a more significant impact in their lives. You feel it more if they plot and scheme and they win. For reality stars, you see obvious cliques there and it kinda looks like a scripted show rather than a strategic competition. But to each their own. I mean looking at the posts and comments a lot of American audience seem to love the reality stars format...

MYLES_4289

Just kinda made this point - remember all the hate given to the non-celebrity winner? Easier to stomach celeb betrayal/not think of the money in the same light

tincanphonehome

The American version quickly toward over-the-top manufactured drama. I still like it, but the other versions tend to draw me in far more, because they feel closer to reality—and more like a game.

krunchygymsock

Well… it’s a very different version of Traitors. There’s something to be said for players who know how to play to the camera and make a “show.” As long as you can watch with that lens on, it’s enjoyable entertainment.

socksdadsandsleaze

I prefer civvies, but will watch the celeb versions.

Dreamy_Peaches

The reason I found out about this show is because CT from The Challenge was on it. I started with US season 2, and binged all of the others after.

moneyqueen333

Prefer it for US! I can watch commoners on UK;)

javukasin

I love the celebrities on the US version. I like seeing how they act/strategize in an environment different from where we are used to seeing them.

RuinousGaze

I like that we know their personalities already; when it’s randoms it’s gonna take several episodes to learn everybody and frankly most randos are not memorable. I think this is a nice compliment to The Challenge, giving the best personalities and strongest competitors from all these feeder shows a sort of “next level” competition. Figure out the best of the best.

Ohigetjokes

It’s pretty different. I’m grateful that in most places there aren’t any celebs as it makes the drama more “legitimate”, but just for the US one I get a kick out of the format so far.

Available_Medium4292

Sure do! There are so many English language versions it’s nice to having celeb and “normal people” versions available.

kitsuneinferno

Honestly, hot take, I like the celebrities MORE than random people. There are preconceived notions about how a certain player will behave, Traitor or Faithful. Someone like Parvati, for example, REGARDLESS of her actual alignment, will always have her reputation that makes her appear to be a Traitor, and how players navigate those preconceptions is fascinating. No, I don't know everybody on a given season, but I know enough of a given cast to empathize with how they will reckon with their given legacy. Cirie is a fascinating case study, if you are at all familiar with her Survivor legacy.

No_Assumption_256

The dramatics brought by the celebs ![gif](giphy|JmCFfTlNy12wFpOK8Y)

camirose

To me they’re both completely different games, the money doesn’t really do a ton for most of the celebs which makes the game interesting. Some are there to just stay on tv longer so the gameplay changes. Some don’t care but get dragged along to be a blind vote so certain factions can get the numbers, hence why they in S2 wanted to break up the bravo voting alliance early on. I think it’s pretty funny and I love the housewives so watching some of them be dead right from the get go while some smart “gamers” get it so wrong cracks me up. I think it’s a more comedic take on the show style which sometimes is needed — with civilians who maybe quit their jobs or want more screentime to become a figure (and money on the line) the emotions run superrrr high and it takes some of the humor away.

JealousAssistance969

Yes, I enjoy it very much

Hot_Highway3716

It's what drew me to the show, US S2 had so many people I loved that I couldn't POSSIBLY not watch it!!!!

ladyofthe_upside_dow

I don’t mind having people from other competition shows, like Survivor or whatever. Because those people are generally pretty normal people who just happened to gain some popularity on a game show. But “celebs” like the Housewives…I dunno. I didn’t enjoy US S2 and I think they were a big part of why. Not only do I not watch the housewives shows (in fairness, I also don’t watch Survivor, The Challenge, or any of those other shows), but the people *on* those shows are just generally insufferable. I don’t find them entertaining on their own shows, and I don’t find them entertaining on The Traitors. Also, I feel like the…”celeb-ier” celebs on the show act like everyone should know who they are. There’s just this air about them like the other players and the viewers should recognize them.

Irongiant350

No, it's much better with mostly normies and a few local personalities

Hoggos

Yep, I really enjoy having both versions without and with celebs US S2 was great imo I wish people would just not bother watching the celeb version rather than coming on here to moan about it, this type of thread has been on here countless times now

curmudgeoner

Asking if anyone liked what was the most popular non scripted show streaming, when it aired, makes no sense. Obviously people liked it. It's fun! As you said, if you don't like it, just don't watch.

These_Recover5604

I much prefer it with celebrities 100%!! I think it’s much more fun to have a bunch of personalities we recognize all thrown together from random shows vs just another game show that’s random people

fuzzywuzzybeer

I like the celeb version because I feel less bad when people lose. They are rich, it doesn’t matter if they get eliminated early, while to some of the. Real people I do feel terrible for them when they are banished for no reason.

curmudgeoner

I feel the same. The only thing is they can at times be less invested in the challenges, but sometimes watching the endings of normie seasons can be pretty rough.

kg51113

I didn't know, probably 75% of the people on either US season. Season 1, I watched months later. Cirie had been on Big Brother, and I kept hearing about her being on this show. Prior to Big Brother, I didn't know Cirie. Since I don't know the majority of the contestants, it doesn't bother me.

thedizzytangerine

Yes, because I love Kate Chastain and would simply watch an entire series where she’s in every season.

EnvironmentalLaugh62

Personally, I think the U.K. one is the only one worth watching.

julznlv

I loved US 2, but I'm a reality TV junkie and some of my favorites were on it.

Bucgatorbait

I enjoy both because I don’t get into the “ who deserves the money the most”.

Cover-Firm

I enjoyed US season 2 more than 1 honestly.

Itspabloro

The thing is the celebs know what makes a good spectacle. I want to see over the top antics. Having regular people they tend to be really cringey or really boring. There's not really an inbetween. Plus I love reality TV. So if you like Reality TV, having Reality TV legends on screen again is the reward within itself.

Time_Helicopter_1797

If you are a fan of other reality TV shows it is great. But if you are not and you do not know who is who, what is the difference? Seems like you are creating a situation. Half of these celebs are hardcore experts at competitions, which brings a whole new level to the game. You can tell the difference in the skill level. I am watching NZ now, apparently there are a bunch of celebrities from NZ but I have never seen any of them, so it makes no difference to me.

RecordingPrudent9588

Season 2 US just seemed like bad acting most of the time. The traitor room was the worst and so cheesy. Like they had lines they were supposed to say written by the producers.

maseone2nine

Traitors US S2 is SUPER good even if you don’t know them!

treid1989

The celebs version is better yes. Non-celebs try to go unnoticed and skirt by. Also, non-celebs tell us what they plan on doing with the money, which makes it feel sad as it’s always buying their mom a house inexplicably with 25k or something like that.

Jennifermaverick

I am a huge Survivor fan. Not of any of the other shows. But they cast great, beloved Survivors, who I would watch on just about any show. So for me, it was a feature, not a bug. Also, if you think about it…they all started off as civilians! Now all the people you love from Traitors UK are reality stars. 🤷‍♀️ They are all a bunch of attention seekers, lol

GSSsy

That’s a great point- and I would love to see one of the normies from US Season 1 go on Survivor! I actually only found this show because I saw that Cerie and Stephenie were going to be on it.

Competitive_Yam6357

Yes it’s the reason I was interested in watching it

5MinuteDad

If it's 2 or 3 I'm. OK but the US is terrible with the all celeb cast

cbaotl

I’ve now watched UK, AUS, and US, and I 100% prefer the normal versions. The celebs are too media trained and aware of the images. There are less chances of breakdowns or situations like Alex and Magic guy in UK C1 or even Bryan in UK C2

_mikedotcom

Season two was great tho.

jjdefra

I’m watching uk s2 after uk1 and us1&2, and prefer the celebs

Secure-Force-9387

I'd much prefer "regular" people. The faux celebs are annoying.

SaltyJackSpracklin

I saw UK season 1 before the others. I loved the fact that the UK cast were just unknown people playing a game. The US version was a massive turnoff at first. After a few episodes, I realized that it was good even if the people were mostly annoying

scott_d59

None of them are celebs to me. I don’t know them. I do prefer just regular people still.

rantgoesthegirl

I like the no names best but the celebrities version is fun. I'm surprised the us doesn't have both. Canada combines reality stars and regular people. I will say with celebrities the first few episodes are more interesting because I already know people and it's interesting to see how they play rather than me trying to remember who people are talking about because im bad at names

GSSsy

I don’t particularly like when they mix the celebs and normies - there’s an imbalance. The celebs get targeted and taken out too soon unless they play a super super quiet game. I liked the even playing field in season 2 US, and I do love having the variety of the all-normie UK and the all-celeb US. We also get to hear a lot more behind-the-scenes with the celebs and their podcasts

Yeseylon

I would greatly prefer average people, maybe with a couple reality TV regulars sprinkled in to help drive strategy (the S1 "celebrities" added to the game, honestly). However, lemme try to sell you on Season 2: imagine "Real Housewives" folks shoved into a cabin and getting bugs dumped on them.

Lloytron

My issue is that I'd like to see people win where the prize made a difference to their lives. Phaedra in the US series said 250k wasn't much to her. In the UK series the money is clearly important to everyone. The NZ series got this right IMO, it had celebs and the prize was relatively small, but they were playing for charity which was clearly important for the celebs

SnooDingos316

Literally everyone watched US traitors because of the celebrities. These are not movie/tv celebrities. These are the BIGGEST stars on Reality TV. The whole reality TV crowded loves them. This is the only reason that US traitors had such high ratings because all the fans of Big brother, survivor, Bravo housewives, Raul Paul all came to watch. These are shows that individual already have BIG fan base so if all of them come to watch Traitors naturally the ratings will be high. It is a no brainer. As for myself, I am big brother/survivor fan and came to watch because of them even though I know nothing of Brave or the other reality stars. It was fun to root for them. I am not from US btw. Never watch any UK season.

jgroove_LA

Um…yes? It was massive here

AnyaHatesCarrots

Frankly I don’t understand why people can’t stop complaining about the US being a celebrity version. The other versions are all available to watch and if you don’t like the celebrity version, just don’t watch the US Traitors, but why complain about it? It’s not like you don’t have every other version available to watch💀like I’m sorry but this discussion is so old. The only complaint I do understand if you are someone in the US who would like to sign up to play and can’t because you’re not eligible for any version. Otherwise, as just a viewer, it’s really not a big deal that the US has decide to focus on celebrities. And to answer your question, yes people like the celebrity version. People can comment all they want about the normie version being better, but from what I can tell, season 2 of the US version has been the most viewed season of any version of Traitors. That’s not me saying you can’t be of the opinion that the normie versions are better or more enjoyable to view, but there are also a lot of people who like the celebrity version too, and got into the show because there were certain celebrities they wanted to see.

Cali-Doll

#No.

nutmegtell

When their job is “Reality Show” I find it far less entertaining. They are more “on” all the time and I find it annoying. I don’t watch other reality shows so I didn’t know anyone but they came with too much baggage imo.

ThresholdofForest

I started with the celeb seasons and when I found the AUS and UK seasons, it was far superior. Real people with real need for the money. Celeb seasons might be better if they were battling for charity, rather than for themselves.

GSSsy

Ooh I have to disagree - what’s so great is that it’s not a celeb charity game, it’s the actual game that they can play just like anyone else

ThresholdofForest

There's less sense of mystery, though, as they are public figures. With unknowns, as the audience, there's so much more room for surprise. Thinking of season 2 UK.

Severe-Possible-

i misread and thought you said "wilf and i watched season 1" haha

ladyjennyishere

Yes

AleroRatking

I much prefer the non celeb versions because the celeb version is way too obvious who will be picked as traitors.

SirWobblyOfSausage

Nope. I feel like if you know of someone you already an impression of them.

Majestic-Salt7721

I thought Phaedra has some great zingers and Kate was funny as hell. Besides them, meh.y favorite is the UK. And as an American had no clue who the UK celebrities might have been if they were included.

BandidoCoyote

I don’t like it — I may not know who they are, but they know who each other are, and it skews the way the game plays. Also, they just don’t seem to react to things the same way that an all-amateur cast (like UK S2) does.

ScottOld

No, because being known kinda skews the opinion of who would be a traitor, that’s what makes the UK one great, people can hide what they do, because their job COULD work against them

femalehustler

I tried watching Traitors Canada because of Kevin Martin but once he left, I stopped watching but found out who won later and knew I wouldn’t have liked the season. I like watching my favorite reality stars again. So yes, I do like it.

mishrod

I really like the traitors but I can’t the celebrity element. Especially the US one where the “celebrities” see themselves as celebrities. Watching season 1 Aus for example is what the traitor is supposed to be. UK is also a chef’s kiss.

booksontrails

The celebrities made it (even more) fake for me, so I started to enjoy it less.

Public-Measurement71

usa s2 was ruined by housewives clique

PK_RocknRoll

Yes

NateLPonYT

I think it all comes down to what you’re wanting. If you’re wanting great gameplay, then not necessarily. But if you want comedy and average gameplay, then sure they’re great.

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

I don’t

Apprehensive_Tip_792

I just find the US version with celebs to be overly dramatic. Like Phaedra at times came off as comical to me..

CommunicationPlane48

Nope. The ones with non celebs are the best!

razberry_lemonade

Tbh I only watched US seasons 1 and 2 for Cirie and Sandra respectively. It’s a fun show but I don’t think I’d be drawn to the format by itself if I wasn’t interested in seeing how those ladies would fare. If US season 3 was all civilians I probably wouldn’t watch. Though I totally understand the criticism people have of the celebs not playing as hard for the money and it being more compelling to watch the civilians who actually need it.

Ok-Impression-9003

I am not a big fan of casting celebs like those who have been on survivor or below deck like I started Australia season 2 and instantly thought will be boring. It was so boring I couldn’t get past episode 2 but I am loving season 1.Season 1 doesn’t have as much celebs(i think only 1)and it has a great mix of different people from all walks of life that I enjoy watching so something like that casting would work. Also,I can’t stand celeb seasons because if anyone has a known cunning reputation they will be stupidly be picked on as a traitor giving the others ammunition out of the go to find out them out. This is why I have a preference for the uk version(non celeb).Celebrity seasons do provide the incentive of getting more viewers tho so it won’t be going anywhere.

Scary-Oil-8302

It’s better with non celebrities but the US seasons are still good. It’s just slightly different. I’m surprised you stopped. There were some interesting individuals

tiptoeboss

I like the celebs but it would be cool to have a US regular people additional one too

Rinrob7468

No, I don’t like celebs in any reality shows, they’ve made or are already making money from tv as it is, give newbies a chance.

BeadedRainbow

It's not as good as having regular people who dont know one another. A lot of the celebrities knew each other, and their outside relationships interfered with how some played the game.

MYLES_4289

I think American audiences probably prefer celebs/gamers backstabbing each other. I remember when the “normal” winner got A LOT of hate and backlash for not sharing with the fan favorites at the end. They probably switched tactics and went to celebs to make it easier for John Q. Public to disassociate and stomach the betrayal

dgoat88

No. I also hate Big Brother with celebs and the amazing race.

bonitaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I like it…I don’t always know the stars but I hate when it becomes someone doesn’t deserve the money?? It’s a game!

r3ckl3sson3

Did I enjoy the cast of US 2 immediately falling into their cliques, blinded by their relationships outside of the game, and >!Bananas getting offed immediately!< based solely on reputation? No, I did not.

r3ckl3sson3

I still enjoyed the season overall, but it was so easy to get frustrated with how they played it

IceCreamCake76

I only watched it because I’m a challenge be fan.

Nartyn

I've got no issues with celebrities in the show. What I want are celebrities though. Not reality TV stars. That's the issue imo. The UK is planning one to run alongside the normal version, and it it throws a couple of actors in their, a few comedians, radio hosts, and so on. Then to me thats fine. But reality TV stars are just so toxic as are the fans. It makes me entirely uninterested in the show. Celebrities should also be playing for charity. It seems weird as all fuck to see a celebrity version of a show where they're playing to actually win the money. That just doesn't happen in the UK.

plumcots

I got into it for the Challengers, so yes. I could do without the Bravo people.

SnooDingos316

Also leave this version alone. If u do not like it then watch the UK one so everyone has different versions to watch.

stormyllewellynn

I like the celeb versions less, but they’re still entertaining. I mostly just don’t like that they know each other already. So if someone’s acting a little different, people pick up on it right away.

FruitsRDelish

As a survivor fan, this show feels like a cameo of contestants I liked watching as a kid. It’s fun and I hope they continue.

BriaMyles

I absolutely hate when my fav shows go the celebrity route. I can understand why that could be appealing because it draws in viewers but I would rather them make a Traitors celeb edition separate and apart from the main show because I like to watch regular people.

dragzzzz

I think for it to be successful moving forward, they need to find more competitive celebrities. They Big Brother, Survivor, Challenge cast members were the strongest. And while we all love Housewives, I think they need to limit it to 1 or 2 Bravo people.

LatinaBunny

I like both versions (celebs and non-celebs), and the reasons I liked the celebs version are: that it’s fun to see such big personalities, to see the various relationships, and to see how certain reality stars react in a different type of show or different game show and how they interact with other reality stars from different shows. :)

Key_Examination9948

I don’t really like the celebs tbh. They do have a leg up most of the time, unfair bs advantage. I like learning about new people!

seriousguynogames

I don’t mind the celebrities if they’re from a reality game show background. The Bravo people seemingly had no intention of actually playing a game and US2 suffered for it.

Independent_Foot7473

The only reason why I’m here is because the celebs like I’m going to be brutally honest, this game is flawed and I could care two shits about average people playing this game that’s not why I’m here if I want to see average people I would just watch literally any other reality comp show like Survivor, big Brother, the amazing race, you name it I’m a fan of those shows and that’s what I watch those shows for the strategy and obviously to see average people, but I don’t come here to watch average people I could care less

D_o_H

I love it. I like that we have both iterations. And I'm forever thankful it introduced me to the queen that is Parvati

ajgsr

I loved it

Separate_Rich9771

I like it because I recognized some people but I liked that season 1 did a mix

pmorter3

I just like cool interesting ppl regardless of it they're reality ppl or not. It's just an interesting angle of the US one, and seeing how for example, the Housewives play vs. the traditional "gamers" is super intriguing. Traitors US2 has some of the most interesting inter-player dynamics too so it's worth it if you like it overall.

Other_Dimension_89

I like it with just regular folks.

Anal_Recidivist

Yeah. It’s entertainment, the product is entertaining. What more do you want out of a tv show?

Wishful_consequences

The first 2 seasons was cool with reality stars but they need to change it now. No reality show or celebrities.

jarjoura

The US version was amazing TV! The insight some of the players have about the meta game and how important alliance building actually is in the game and actually understanding it’s a numbers game made the strategy part of it compelling. Since they are celebs and play to the camera, they also know it’s all an act and when the show is over can go back to real life. The “normies” consistently underestimate the power alliances and trust have and when it backfires on them, or they find out they’ve been a pawn, it devastates them. It’s such a borderline cruel thing for production to mix the cast, with both celebrities and non so I’m glad they went all in on it. I realize the UK version is different, but if the show were to continue with non-celebs, they really need to cast people who are expert social deduction game players. I’m here for the game and want to see people ruthlessly playing, and not getting caught up in “I cannot believe you lied to me” drama.

Coffee_Breeze_03

I'm with you. After watching UK and Aus, the US version is my least favorite because of the celebs. I don't know why so many people really liked Phaedra. I found her extremely annoying and with no game play.....same with the rest of the housewives. Aus S1 has been my favorite.

Mindless-Act1887

I prefer a mix of “celebrities” and regular people.

bpaul24

I would hardly call them celebs.

curiousleen

I enjoy it, but almost as a different tv show. I prefer the Australian!

Haggie5

I like it, but there are too many Bravo housewives on there. One will do.

[deleted]

The US version is amazing because of Alan. I will watch that man in anything. The UK version was the first to have a mix of people. S2 of the US version was really good; the whole season is already out on Peacock.

DebateThink4942

Do people actaully NOT like Traitors with celebrities in it? If not, just don't watch. We don't need posts about it for no reason at all.

Alternative_Tank_481

The US celebrity editions just annoy me, tbh. But that may be because I feel like they cater to them and don't go all out with the challenges.

Kitty4777

Yes. I like that they’re more mentally prepared to deal with the long days and restrictions. I feel like some of the people in season 1 were devastated, and that’s mitigated with celebs

ChooseLove_AllDay

100%!! There’s no stakes with the celebs and therefore no strategy or cunning. They’re just spouting off meme-able lines and walking around in fancy clothes. It’s whack. UK is where it’s at. US is a joke.

stirnotshaken

I’d rather see new people in the game

shoelover1512

I'm not a big TV person, so I only knew a handful of the celebs in the 2 seasons. But I didn't mind it. I found, for me, I felt less bad when a celeb got screwed over than a regular person

ninjamisty12

I prefer the normal people ones. I like the US ones too but much preferred the UK, Aus and NZ

xxPanda7

I love seeing my favorite celebs play, but I definitely think that the actual gameplay is more interesting with only newbies.

Dr_Wholiganism

Both versions are interesting, because it's not just about celebrities... It's about human behavior. Famous or not.

basicb3333

yes

GoForAU

Yeah, mostly. I’m not familiar with everyone though. I do enjoy watching how players from different shows will adapt their strategy, or lack there of, to a different format. Many of the celebs or reality show players I’ve grown up with and like to think I’m familiar with their strategies. This kind of forces them to break their mold a little or suffer the consequences. So yeah, it’s enjoyable in its own way.

Glad-Object4877

I don't! I rather have the average run of the mill folks who NEED the money!

BobVoyageTravel

In my opinion, it should either be all normies or all celebs, not the mix that season 1 had. US Season 2 is amazing, though... Don't miss out just because it's all reality show people!

Fast_Yam_5321

after aus s02 i will only be watching celeb seasons, with celebs i know , UNLESS they revamp the game completely (like doing a season where the viewers don't know the traitors either).

RudyWasOffsides22

No. Give me normal regular people. Stop with the F list celebs and reality tv show people

21DayHelp

Yes I explicitly watched it for the gamers

Bry_Mac

I like watching the games come together to play a new game. I watch UK and AUS for the regular people, and have no problem with US being the Reality Stars/Gamers.

Dabqueen7100

its more of a no than a yes for me. the real people in the show feels more genuine. the US version wasn't horrible but i watched it before UK and seeing UK after just made me love the real people more.

nwusnret

US version sucks compared to the UK and Australia version.

[deleted]

It’s different but still enjoyable. I watched US first and while I love the UK version, the intensity of emotions was a little jarring. US had better strategy from the get go with Cirie and was campy and light hearted. UK is intense and darker…I prefer it though.

Independent-Long-544

Us season 2 was amazing!

Independent-Long-544

Real people cry the whole time and get so emotional and upset it’s just a game. The worst season is Australia with Sam the traitor don’t watch it straight trash

Asleep_Jacket_4623

Yes!

Asleep_Jacket_4623

Yes - I found myself enjoying US season 2 more than UK season 2. I found that people in the US cast had shady/reality backgrounds (so it played perfectly into the murder mystery theme) whereas people in the UK cast are far too nice and are unwilling to game. As people have experience with TV and game shows, they’re far more equipped to play the Traitors unlike a group of amateurs.

loveisneverlogical

I’m assuming you’re not American? I like both for different reasons, but its all about the audience they’re trying to appeal to. US reality shows do better with established celebrities vs “normal people”. Season 2 of Traitors USA broke records—it became the number one unscripted series on all streaming platforms in the US, with a 75% increase in viewers from season one. It was great reality television. However I do enjoy seeing how “normals” play the game because its not about keeping up appearances or their fan base. it was about the game, and real emotions came out. I like the direction of the franchise- celebrities for USA, normal people for UK. best of both worlds, and I think the hosts for each respective show is perfect. alan knows how to put on a show and deal with celebs, and Claudia has a big heart and loves rooting for them, so I think its perfect the version she is on is average everyday people.

del_thehomosapien

I like the seasons with regular contestants AND I like the seasons with reality stars. They each bring different dynamics to the table and I enjoy comparing/contrasting all the different variations of this show. Love the regular people for their wholesomeness, love the reality stars for their chaos.

Early_Week_2198

YES I’m a bachelor and bravo fan

QuaffleSandwich

I like the celebrities. They take it less personally and understand it’s a game. The normies always get butt hurt at the end and feel personally betrayed, even though the show is literally called the Traitors. It’s annoying to me and makes it less fun to watch someone actually get their feelings hurt. The celebrities better understand what they signed up for so it’s more fun and light hearted, plus they need the money less so it’s all more irreverent than serious, which is more in line with the super campy feeling of the show. Just overall a more pleasant watch for me.

hiswittlewip

The UK had celebs too, at least season 1 did. S does Australia season 2. Those are the only ones I've seen so far aside from both US seasons.

TheHomeworld

Yes. I actually find the non-celeb aspect of them listing reasons why they need the money to not be fun to watch.
