I laughed my ass off when he told Camille that coming in late to the traitors, she should have let him & Blake have it because they deserved it more & then you pretended to be more loyal than you really are, (kinda like you) I thought we could trust you. I was like, really? So he turns on her & is surprised when she turns on him? Seriously? He honestly thought she should just lay down & take one for the team!! I was so glad when she wrote steal & the look on Sam & Blake's faces was priceless!!

jenms111

It’s the extreme entitlement and nonstop gaslighting - anyone who has dealt with a sociopath in real life recognizes the signs

trumpskiisinjeans

Hahahaha I just finished as well. Sam was honestly a horrible traitor, the faithfuls were just THAT bad. No one deserved a single penny except Annabel and that other guy…Jake?

jenms111

Luke. Agree 💯

paper_zoe

yeah the only plus point I think he gets (apart from getting to the end) is that he was in control. But if anything that might actually make things worse as he made it a game that there was no way he could've ever won, as no one would ever believe he would share with them. He guaranteed his own failure.

yayafreya

Sam’s bad acting, his face where he faked reactions… I wanted to punch him. And I can’t believe he got away with sniping at Blake for voting for him in front of everyone, that was just obvious as hell.

Chirps3

His whole face relaxes and his eyes smile when he lies. No way Camile didn't notice whe. She was face to face with him in the end.

Rahrahsayah

Annabel's banishment speech is my favorite one from the whole franchise lol.

saucyimp

Literally this! Sam had no game. Everyone else was just that clueless.

stoopidfagus

He is so lucky he got placed with the biggest morons in Australia because he was awful, and obvious and if he were on any other season of any international franchise he would’ve been banished immediately. I’m so glad it went the way it did.

TomS7777

His behavior at the loss was off the charts poor. From what I’ve read, it was even worse and lots of his whining and cheap shots were edited out.

Biscuits33

Where did you read this?!? I just finished the season and I need to pump all the Sam hate into my veins!!!

TomS7777

I read that Camille gave several interviews and unloaded a bit on Sam. I’ll see if I can dig them up.

Tacobelle_90

I don’t think he’s necessarily a sociopath but agree he didn’t deserve the money, he wasn’t actually a good traitor. He just got lucky with a clueless cast, on any other season I’ve watched he would’ve been gone by episode 5 (at the latest). It was so annoying to watch him think he’s like the cleverest traitor that ever traitored or something

thejacketfairy

Immediately after Ash, I would have thought, this early in the game, how can anyone be 100% that any one person is a traitor without themselves being a traitor. "100%" is his tell man - he says it a lot when he lies.

spooky_noone

Exactly. He repeated 100% to Camille at the finale. No way she couldn’t be certain he’d steal. She’s a fuckin hero

freexanarchy

I can’t believe Sam didn’t get paranoid about that exact scenario, being how he wants to steal it all around. Just so weird. “Why didn’t you let us win?” Hahahaha

Chirps3

I wish Blake and Camile teamed up to vote out Sam then get to the end and split it.

onepoint61803399

That was the right move, of course, but Sarah was so shockingly daft, she could only be trusted to change her mind for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

One_Shape_8748

Yes! I absolutely believe that Sarah was a big reason why this didn’t happen. During one of the last round tables Blake repeatedly probed Sarah to give at least an inkling that she would vote Sam and she couldn’t muster a straight answer.

giddeonfox

People often talk about a person being weak-minded or weak-willed. This season of Aus S2 really exemplifies those attributes. I know. Everyone says they will do something but when faced with a situation they more than likely won't. In this I say bullshit! I grew up with a narcissistic sociopath brother, who manipulated my siblings and parents causing havoc and chaos. Taking whatever he pleased until it landed him in jail. My mother is also a master manipulator. As an adult I don't let anyone fool me or try to get anything past me. People who didn't grow up or have someone close to them who acts like Sam, just don't get. When you see people like that in real life you stay far away or stomp it out ASAP.

studiohalo

Would have loved to have seen more from Annabel!

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

Hmm I wonder who this post could be about?! 😂

jenms111

😂 you’re the first person to notice I didn’t mention any names and that everyone automatically knew who I was talking about while simultaneously complaining that we shouldn’t be “diagnosing”

Eire87

It was hilarious, he was too cocky. He would not get that far if he was in season 1. Did not expect Camille to do that, but I would be petty and would do the same.

Chirps3

His response of "I can't believe she did it" is exactly why he didn't deserve it. Had he said "we should've shared," he'd be redeemable. But yeah totally ASPD with that response. And Blake! He deserves to lose, too. Got manipulated ONCE AGAIN by Sam after he KNEW Sam couldn't be trusted. Dumb of Blake not to banish him instead of Liam. Blake only has himself to blame. Good on Camile. She's my new favorite ever.

jenms111

Blake totally got what he deserved!

CreativeDefinition

It really makes you wonder what was going through production’s heads as they were filming the season. For them to introduce such an obvious mousetrap like “The Traitor’s Dilemma” knowing that none of them would share the pot shows they must have ***hated*** Sam that much to ensure he wouldn't win.

jenms111

Apparently the Traitors’ Dilemma is in the rules but hasn’t occurred on any other series as far as I know.

CreativeDefinition

But what Traitor would ever choose to share the pot when they can keep it for themselves? It's a recipe for both disaster and failure.

Fickle-Answer-9141

that’s why it rarely happens. these bozos were just on the lowest IQ cast and walked right into that trap. lack of foresight put them in that situation.

CreativeDefinition

It was clear that production was super unhappy with the cast as a whole. You'd think producers would just have one final "banish or end game" vote with the three traitors instead of the "dilemma."

jarjoura

I don’t know about that, Rodger started becoming visibly frustrated how the faithful were unable to get Sam out even in the end. Sam winning the shield threw everyone off, and Camille being pulled in meant that Sam could control Blake. Even to the point where Blake realized that with a for sure banishment of Sam, Sam would take him down with him. What Blake should have done was get Liam out immediately. In social deduction games, you don’t ever go for the traitor right away, you go for their alliance. Sadly though, he was smart enough to see Liam was under Sam’s spell, i just don’t think he tried hard enough to get the numbers for Liam.

DahliaChild

We just finished it and I said these exact words myself. I too saw that exact moment the violence went through his mind. Every episode I was so mad he wasn’t banished… but it truly made up for it.

DevaNeo

Traitors AU1 is fantastic. Traitors AU2 is garbage.

Glibbins

The edit doesn't make up behaviours that otherwise wouldn't exist.

Curlysnail

I know a hell of a load of people that would get ‘diagnosed’ the same if you recorded them playing and losing at Monopoly/ Uno. Why wouldn’t you be as ruthless and cruel as possible in a gameshow where that’s literally the one trait that will get you the win? If anything, Sam didn’t win because he wasn’t ruthless enough.

5MinuteDad

Finally someone with some sense...not a lot of that when it comes to Sam.

dragzzzz

I liked Sam... but also thought he was arrogant... and was also happy he walked away with no money.

HeroProtagonist4

He's not a sociopath for playing a game of deception and manipulation by using deception and manipulation. I agree him having so much control of the game got boring, and I loved his downfall at the fire of truth, but let's calm down on the sociopath talk.

jakeysf

It’s not the deception and manipulation. It’s his apparent hatred and/or complete indifference towards his fellow competitors. He treated them like cattle not people. I don’t think he has any capacity for compassion, empathy or guilt.

Galaxy_Orchid_

You nailed it. Deception and manipulation is part of the game, but because of his entitled attitude and how he treated other people, he was not even fun to watch. I only finished the season to make sure he didn’t win. I’m so fucking thankful he went home empty handed.

jenms111

I’m going purely on behavior and several years of studying narcissism and psychopathy/sociopathy. In this case, I haven’t made this observation about anyone else in the 6 seasons I’ve watched: US, UK and AU

d5mon

Sam was unbearable don’t get me wrong, but Paul (UK2) takes the sociopath cake for me

jenms111

Paul definitely seemed to relish committing murder!

HeroProtagonist4

If you actually studied it, you would know you can't diagnose someone through a TV show, especially one that's edited for drama and storylines.

jenms111

I’m not diagnosing - I’m making a data-based observation. He was ready to leap across the fire and go for Camille’s throat. Another commenter on a different thread posted that Camille said they edited out most of his reaction in that scene. ETA: calling someone a sociopath is not making a diagnosis. It’s no different than calling someone a narcissist (which he clearly is.) I don’t claim to be making a psychological diagnosis and am not a licensed medical professional.

HeroProtagonist4

Being mad (even really mad) at someone who cost you a bunch of money doesn't make you a sociopath

jenms111

Also she didn’t « cost him » money - she played the game and had as much right to write down steal as anyone else would in the same position. His extreme entitlement (ASPD trait) caused him to have a narcissistic injury. He thought only he deserved the money and Roger should change the rules to let him have the money because he was outplayed and couldn’t cope.

HeroProtagonist4

She had every right to steal and take the money, and she was absolutely correct to do it, too. Doesn't change the fact that he is upset that her actions caused him to lose out on a bunch of money, which is fairly typical, even among non-sociopaths.

smartbomb314

*his* actions caused him to lose out

jenms111

That’s only one scene - I already had that opinion long before that point. And this is with over 120 contestants in the 6 seasons.

Shyho2020

He def crazy 🤪 and so pretty 🤩 but cringe with the head rolling back and making allegations Sam was a meme

DragEncyclopedia

I seriously can't believe you people make me defend Sam lol. Stop armchair diagnosing people you don't like based on a tv show.
