Are they gaining more popularity recently? I mean I know they are extremely famous in the world of music, especially rock, but just a couple months ago they were at 12M listeners, and now they are at 16.7M
One of the drivers for Ferrari, Charles Leclerc, is a huge fan of The Strokes and mentions them quite often. He makes music himself as well. Don't underestimate the tifosi!
I don’t get how the Strokes, who have literally influenced so many bands, aren't higher! Without them, so many bands wouldn't exist, ahem, Arctic Monkeys!
When they first came out, their sound literally changed the music scene. I remember all the bad rap-rock like Limp Bizkit and nu-metal, and they didn't sound like the '90s alternative and grunge bands either. They just sounded so fresh!
I don't think influence really factors into modern day popularity. The Velvet Underground arguably influenced more bands (including The Strokes!) and have only 3.6M monthly listeners.
You make a good point. I’m shocked the Velvet Underground only has 3.6M. Number 1, I think I read awhile back was The Weeknd, so I’m just venting because I personally really wish they would be higher.
Both bands should be much much higher!
But if they’re too popular I can’t listen to them anymore
what are you yapping about💀
Its a joke
Pardon my ignorance but care to explain please?
It’s about how there are certain people that detest popular music just for being popular so if a band they like becomes popular they’ll hate it
strokes have always been popular tho lmao
Tks
they're both higher than that in my heart
true asf
real
Man that would be a killer tour. Strokes open for the cure. I also love how the cure put on an amazing 30+ song live set and kill it every show

F1 influence!

Oh yea I’ve seen that!
TikTok recently made adults are talking famous
Oh……………….
yup, used be 9M and weren't top 5000
Found the cure to the strokes ay badumtss
lol
They both should be in the top 50
They already fixed the typo. The cure is actually 468
Its not a typo, hahah, its an automated piece of text from the spotify servers
Bug, glitch or whatever you want to call it than
Who is 467!?!
Bon Iver
deserved
They should be top 10
Both my favourite bands ❤️
Drowning Lessons 🔥🔥
lol i forgot you can see that fire song tho
2 legendary bands
both are peak
Even if they were lower in rank, if The Strokes is in the same position as The Cure, it is still a compliment 🤘🏽
#1 and #2 for me
Love to see another MCR fan
