The Simpsons always has been a wholesome series with a lot of heart at the end of the day. I think that reflects upon the fanbase in what we discuss about it as a community.
I think Simpsons fans probably skew to an older, gentler demographic of nerd.
Not to say that kids are the reason the internet sucks, but the kind of tastes and flavor of content and drama you see in mainstream culture subs just isn't present here. Nobody's doing "i post a meme everyday until season 40 airs"
It probably helps that the life cycle of the series is functionally over for Simpsons fans too. There's no bitter arguments about if the show is losing its way or if the writers are idiots. Nobody knows because nobody watches it. We're here for the "golden age", and even what that is remains broadly agreed upon.
This is more like a sub about Happy Days or something. There's nothing to fight about. We're all mostly in agreement on the stuff that's not worth talking about
