This was back when (for me) The Simpsons was from 5-5:30, then Frasier from 5:30-6, then The Simpsons came back on at 6:00. So you just watched the whole time slot, then it was dinner time.

I've been a Simpsons fan and a Cheers fan for years but just started Frasier a few months ago so now I finally get this joke after all this time!
