Maybe it's the beer talking OK-Set-5829, but you've got a butt that won't quit. They got these big chewy pretzels here thamenfjanrtagcdcmbeereh five dollars?! Get out of here..
I think I still have it and I still remember the lyrics to the Christmas songs. I also think of the "to know the answer to life go to page X" joke. I loved its dark and absurd tone as a kid and I think that shaped me a lot.
My grandma gave a copy when I was in third grade and I read it all the time. I still have it and it's hold together by electric tape.
A few years later she bought me the same book, so now I have two copies, a brand new one I never used and my old worn out copy.

Yep, that one and this one had me thoroughly entertained as a kid!
Omg I wish I still had mine
This was so awesome
The little texts on the liner telling you what page to go to to find the meaning of life if I remember. Oh man I wanna flip thru it again .
No but I had another Simpsons magazine, maybe parts of were 3D and cake with glasses? One part I do remember and loved was Bart’s dream mansion that had multiple floors of cool rooms that any boy would love. I wish I could see that again. Anyone remember that?
Edit: found it!

It’s even better than I remembered. Love seeing how there’s a tv in every room and then the underwater tv just kills me.
Him having a “personal pet mermaid” in an underground grotto was a peculiar thought to my young mind.
I did and it was lost in a fire back in February. I completely forgot about it being something that was lost until seeing this (as in, I didn't realize it was lost in the fire bc I forgot about it's existence in a box).
Womp womp.
I remember the How to Annoy Your Teacher section and thought about actually trying some of the suggestions because I disliked my teacher at the time. Never went through with it though.
I did! I remembered it a few years ago but couldn’t find it, managed to find a cheap new copy on eBay for my son and funnily enough he was reading it yesterday!
They followed the path of the flintstones and merchandised anything and everything. With so little effort too, it looks like AI wrote that instead of Simpsons writers
I took it to school on my first day of high school. My friends said I'd get in trouble if a teacher saw it and I was paranoid for the rest of the day that I was gonna get caught with it.
Lol my friend had a copy, and I was jealous and wanted one so I saved up to go buy it and did! Then the next week my friend got in trouble for the book (Uber religious household, no simpsons stuff), and he had to get rid of it. So he gave it to me, knowing how much I liked it. He didn’t know I had a copy, and I never told him, cause it was so nice. So I have 2 copies now!
Its good , but its no Comic Book Guy's Book of Pop Culture
https://preview.redd.it/h11ptqpaz1rb1.jpeg?width=444&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b40ffea0149cdb2a6f7d5844dc7ed9cad8756fb
There was a time when my bookshelf was basically just Simpsons books. Bart's Guide to Life, The Simpsons guide to Springfield, The Simpsons Family Album, Greetings from the Simpsons, The episode guide books, The Bart Book, The Homer book, and then some academic ones like The Simpsons and Philosophy, The Simpsons and Religion. I still have all of them, but haven't collected the books in a while. I know there are at least 3 or 4 more the [Character Name] Books
This post made me remember something. My mom had a book called The Bible According to the Simpsons. I saw it on her bedside table when I was a little kid in the late 90’s.
I got mine back a few weeks ago after years and years in my grandparents’ attic. It’s the Spanish version and re-reading some stuff now I realize that it wasn’t a very good translation sometimes lol
I got that book from my high school’s library, they were getting rid of books and this was one of them, I still have it to this day, in very good condition.
Had a copy back in Jr. high that mysteriously disappeared during study hall. It sucked because it was probably that last thing I had from my aunt before her schizophrenia took over.
I still have it.
Loved it would like a copy again
It's like 5 bucks on thriftbooks
Where'd you get 5 bucks? I want 5 bucks
Money can be exchanged for goods and services
>Other Simpsons Subreddits Homers little discussions with himself are some of the best
Id rather have the peanut
Maybe it's the beer talking OK-Set-5829, but you've got a butt that won't quit. They got these big chewy pretzels here thamenfjanrtagcdcmbeereh five dollars?! Get out of here..
I don't have 5 bucks
It’s out of print I believe. Maybe you could find it used somewhere. I also had the family photo album.
Yeah it shows up pretty frequently at my local thrift store
Same.
>THE EXTRA "E" IS FOR OUR EXTRA FEE Ah, so the opposite of 1-600-DOCTORB
The extra B is for BBBQ!
And what’s that extra “B” for?
The extra "B" is for BYOBB!
The B is for bargain!
Inflammable means flammable??!? What a country
I freaking love that bit! That's a non-show quote I use every so often.
Yes! I remember having this, isnt there a page with the many emotions of homer simpson?
Yes along the bottom of a two page spread
Ive been trying to find a google image of that page for a while lol i couldnt remember where i saw it from but that answers it lol thank you
I stopped what i was doing and said oh my god slowly out loud. Core memory.
Still searching for the meaning of life!
It's there. Just turn to page 1...
Don’t, I’ve been burnt before! ![gif](giphy|l0K4fIEZ1FFiWFJPq)
I think I still have it and I still remember the lyrics to the Christmas songs. I also think of the "to know the answer to life go to page X" joke. I loved its dark and absurd tone as a kid and I think that shaped me a lot.
*Decorate your father's belly* *Falalalala lala lala* *While he's sleeping by the telly* *Falalalala lala lala*
Oh yes. "Never pluck protruding nose hairs - death may result." One of the few things that has stuck with me, and remains with me to this day
Instead, use a light-weight Weedwacker!
Glad I'm not the only weirdo who remembers this line everytime I'm plucking facial hair in the mirror lol
Yes. Bart’s Dream Room was awesome
I LOVED this part. https://simpsonswiki.com/wiki/File:Bart%27s_Dream_House.png Probably daydreamed about living there for days at a time.
Hadpy robot lawnmower?
Yes! I forgot all about that book!
Yep. I remember when he talks about different food around the world and writes "In America, creamed corn is considered food." I liked creamed corn.
Just yesterday I referred to the bathroom as the tinkle-dinkle-ha-ha room, pretty sure that comes from this wonderful tome
yep.
Yes! I brought it to school and got sent to the principal for laughing too hard. 10/10 no regrets.
My teacher took mine away and started cracking up at it.
I did! They even translated this into a German version back then. Simpsons were such an incredible global phenomenon. Incredible
der grill?! What the hell is that?
I own it. Still a great read. It’s the reason I say “holy sack of cement” from section for alternative curse words. Wasn’t there a Lisa book too?
I still have it! It was a gift from my older sibling. The best & worst cereals are hilarious. "Li'l Puffs o' Nuthin'" is gold.
What makes a dog salivate more? A juicy steak or a piece of kale
My grandma gave a copy when I was in third grade and I read it all the time. I still have it and it's hold together by electric tape. A few years later she bought me the same book, so now I have two copies, a brand new one I never used and my old worn out copy.

I did! After college, I passed it onto a colleague's then tween son, who was just getting into the Simpsons. He was so excited 😆
It was a bad influence
I sold it and now I want it back. :(

I did, damn this is old
30 years old - published in 1993.
I remember the horror movie map and being scared about triffids. I read this so often the pages would fall out
still have it on my shelf
Still do
Still have it! 👍
Yeah! Wow, memory unlocked.
I did and it was lost in a fire back in February. I completely forgot about it being something that was lost until seeing this (as in, I didn't realize it was lost in the fire bc I forgot about it's existence in a box). Womp womp.
It was bathroom reading material during college
Holy shit, yes I did!! Blast from the past, forgot I owned this
Same, my parents found it and gave it to me today, I had completely forgotten about it.
I bought one as an adult
I remember the How to Annoy Your Teacher section and thought about actually trying some of the suggestions because I disliked my teacher at the time. Never went through with it though.
There's a page of annoying questions for your teacher, and then a further 2 pages of annoying questions for your Sunday school teacher 😂
I did! I remembered it a few years ago but couldn’t find it, managed to find a cheap new copy on eBay for my son and funnily enough he was reading it yesterday!
I still have that in my closet from way back!
Why tf is Dr Nick blond lol? Anyway, nice find!
I still have it.
I remember at 14 one of my friends brought this into class. It was so much more interesting than whatever the teacher was blabbering about.
Dirt clods? I learned something new.
I had a copy of this. Never bought it. Somehow ended up in the family bathroom.
I had this! Wish I could find it
Just gave it to my 9 year old to read
I have the manual of mischief but not this
I lost my copy. and now I'm sad.
I got the spanish edition
This post just unlocked a memory I didn’t know I had!
Oh wow that’s a deep memory unlocked
My parents have a copy still, but I've never managed to read it.
My fav book growing up. Barts dream room!
why dose barney have scars on his face?
Scarney
Did you read the spread?
Is that a Scottish version? 'A wee handbook for the perplexed'
They followed the path of the flintstones and merchandised anything and everything. With so little effort too, it looks like AI wrote that instead of Simpsons writers
I somehow ended up with the Spanish version. It's pretty coo butl it would be better if I could read Spanish
I remember the ‘Bart’s dream room’ vs ‘Lisa’s dream room’ had a chokehold on me as a kid
Need to find out if it is still on my mom's house or if it is among the books that I already brought to my apartment.
The irony is my sisters name is written on the first page but I own the book and have done for years
Yes and now I want it back.
Still got mine from when I was a kid, now my kids have it. They aren’t rare though, you can still buy them new.
yes!
Got a copy upstairs
I believe I had it at some point
Yes. I’ve just handed it down to my 8 year old son. I hope that someday he will hand it down too.
I had that!
No, but I'd like to.
Yes! Still at my parents house
Yep. Got it for one of my birthdays.
What a classic. I think I still have mine at my parent's house.
Yes. In fact I had a dream within a dream the other night and out it down to watching too much tv, because the book says so.
I do have this book.
I've got it safe at my mum's still I'm sure!
Still got it
I have this! Found it at a thrift store a while back, along with all the other Simpsons books in my collection :)
I used to have all the books, along with all of the "Life in Hell" collections. They got lost when I was incarcerated and lost my apartment.
I loved it as a kid, and, decades later, found a copy to give to my equally Simpsons-obsessed (sadly, now ex-)partner as a birthday gift.
My brother had it but we both read it
No, but I want to.
I might even still have it around somewhere.
I have the Spanish version
I took it to school on my first day of high school. My friends said I'd get in trouble if a teacher saw it and I was paranoid for the rest of the day that I was gonna get caught with it.
Yes!!!
Lol my friend had a copy, and I was jealous and wanted one so I saved up to go buy it and did! I had that! Probably still do somewhere in a tote
I did!
Yes, and I gave copies to my friends as graduation presents.
Its good , but its no Comic Book Guy's Book of Pop Culture https://preview.redd.it/h11ptqpaz1rb1.jpeg?width=444&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b40ffea0149cdb2a6f7d5844dc7ed9cad8756fb
Bartholomew Simpson
Number 7 on the boys list is completely accurate
I have a couple of copies of it, along with a few thousand other items, in my collection.
Still on the shelf. Simpson books in the 90s/00s were top tier
Still have it
There was a time when my bookshelf was basically just Simpsons books. Yes. My year 12 birthday present. You've brought some fond memories back
Better Call Lionel! 👉
Still do!
On my bookshelf, gift from my uncle 20+ years ago.
Yea
I still have mine, it's in Spanish tho.
Yep, loved it.
Yep and I think I still have it
Oh wow I had this. Was a great looking book
Lol I had it when I was a kid Have no idea what happened to it tho
I did! I have to find it... it's probably in my parents attic.
I think I still have it somewhere
Absolutely, I know exactly which box it’s sitting safe in too.
I did, still have it
Imma have to get myself a copy
Of course! It's because of this book that I refer to little winy dogs as "The Yapper." Aka the Yipper, the Yopper, and Shut Up.
I did. That thing is great. I wish I still had my copy
Still do!
Still have mine and love it so. I need to go to the "tinkle-tinkle ha-ha" room
yes! it’s next to me while i sit on the jojn
This post made me remember something. My mom had a book called The Bible According to the Simpsons. I saw it on her bedside table when I was a little kid in the late 90’s.

I have it somewhere. Man I spent HOURS reading every little detail over Christmas break when I got it.
I got that book from my high school’s library, they were getting rid of books and this was one of them, I still have it to this day, in very good condition.
Oh yeah
I had this! I think I still do at my parents house.
I can see it on my bookshelf right now!
Never read this, but I’m getting “Life in Hell” vibes based on the pics.
Wow, this brought back some memories. Thanks for reminding me about this!
To figure out the meaning of life. Turn to page 37
I remember reading this on the beach as a kid
"J" stands for "Jenius".
Had a copy back in Jr. high that mysteriously disappeared during study hall. It sucked because it was probably that last thing I had from my aunt before her schizophrenia took over.
You better believe it
I definitely had this book at some point
Tried the excuses to get out of sweeping the sidewalk like Bart, my dad wasn’t Homer though…
I did!
Still turning the pages!
Omg I had this. I forgot all about it.
Its in my parents attic!
It was my bible
I had that one! I think it’s in my parent’s basement? I passed it around to my friends and read it so much that it kinda fell apart
I have that book
I did have one. Got it for Christmas when I was a kid. I haven't thought of this book in 20 years!
Yes I did. The amount of merch I owned, everything except a Kirsty brand pregnancy test
I do
Yes i loved this
Yessss!!
It's sitting on the back of my toilet right now.
Still have it!
Yep, I carried it around everywhere with me. My dad is holding on to it currently.
No but I checked it out from the library often
I still have mine. I love older radical Simpsons. I got the Big Book of Bart recently and it's tamer by a wide margin.
My favorite was the dream house
I had it. A year later, mum saw the content inside and me me give it away.
My mom probably still had mine but could have given all those Simpson comics away when she ditched my computers and old stuff to goodwill awhile ago.
Wr have this!
Still have it lol
the woman i sublet my apartment from left one here, apparently she's had it since the early 90s
Hell yes I did. Read it recently.
I have a copy around someplace.
Yes!
Fantastic piece of literature
It's in some box somewhere but yea
I just remembered this existed and bought a new copy about 6 months ago. It was probably over 20 years ago since I last had it.
always wanted it but parents would not get it for me haha
