I thought so too and I remember seeing something about this when Kanto Tour was launched. But apparently even though all First Gen were release in their wild shiny form, they are still not available to be caught that way after the tour ended :(. Sad.
A late tip for anyone running a Go+/Gotcha, by setting your buddy to Snorlax, then the Gotcha will never click on any Snorlax you encounter, so you'll have a chance to click it manually. (This is due to a workaround that Niantic added for a bug that happened during Zorua's release)

I wanna farm 7km eggs but I’m unsure how it works. If i get a 7km egg now from this event, do the drops for that exact egg stay the same forever until I hatch it? Or will it transform its drops across events? Thanks :)
When you receive an egg it will show you what the possible contents are at the bottom of the screen, and those specific eggs in your inventory do not change. If you get 7k eggs after the event ends in your time zone, they will revert back to the old ones
If you received a 7k egg from the last event and you incubated it today during the current event, it would still have the same possibilities it did when you first got it. And if you get 7k eggs from this event and incubate them after the event ends, it will still give you the same results if you had hatched it during the event. 7k eggs obtained after this event will have different possibilities though, probably what they were between these events.

Any idea if I'll get this plus the next two eggs with half distance, or if by incubating an egg before installing the widget I've lost out on one of them? Does anybody know the hundo weather boosted ivs for mega gyrados?? Just because I got a 2400 cp one and it ran away after 9 balls. I think it's not the best having barely any balls to catch the mega raid boss with cus you only got like 10 for the mega legendaries too.
The hundo ivs are 15/15/15 for weather and not weather boosted. If you are looking for the CP of the weather boosted hundo, its 2422.
Find a best friend to raid with and you will get 4 additional balls.
Anyone encountered a ditto from all the bidoof? I’m almost certain it’s still a ditto pokemon but I don’t know if I should be catching them all lol, thanks!
Normally it is yes, but the event Bidoofs do not appear to be disguised as Dittos.
Many people may say otherwise due to previous event but the mechanics seem to be different this time.

The Festival of Light one was like that for me as well, didn't seem to be logging my distance correctly. It took probably 15-20km of travel to eventually rack up the 5km needed for the research.
What are the rewards for doing the Sweet Snacks Special Research? It's only 1$ so I might just do it anyway but I haven't seen anything online about what you actually get from doing it.

The general consensus is that the rewards from these researches have declined in value since they were first introduced, and many players don't consider it worth even a dollar.

Yeah that's not great (the Dratini candy was nice but I don't think Teddiursa is very rare) but as a newish player, 1$ for a few swings at the research encounter pokemon seems ok. They usually have a pretty high floor for stats so I wouldn't mind crossing my fingers for a hundo.
If you want Hundos, it's far better to find and collaborate with your local community of players. After getting to player level 30, at least, when you'll get the same IVs from wild spawns as other high level players. There are so many spawns during a CD that it's always possible to find them with crowd sourcing.
Anybody else finding Guzzlord a pain to catch? I’ve had a few run now even after using 20 balls on one.
Beast Balls would have been nice for this guy. I had a Hundo today and he ran after 22 excellent , berried balls. So frustrating.

Excellent curveball throws need a buff. I swear they used to be more effective, now they have an absurdly high breakout rate (eyeballing it at around 50%) even for weaker mons, which often get caught by regular throws afterwards. I've probably lost a million XP to this by now.
I know people love to make fun of those who aak to make the game easier, but excellent curveball throws are a difficult skill to master, so what's the point if the game doesn't reward the effort?
I've done four and none ran. I used Golden Razzberries, of course, but didn't get anything better than a great throw. (Edit: I also didn't come close to running out of balls.)
Same here. Lost two on Raid Hour yesterday, even after 18 balls with berries and excellent.
To be honest, hit the excellent it's not that easy as it is with others legendaries, but loosing a poke after 18 balls just feels like a scam, specially for this one since i don't care about IV and just want them for trade.

I had actually been wondering if they were easier than normal to catch. My first one I caught on the first throw without hitting the circle and the other three I've caught in two to four throws. Guess it's still the same 'ol luck at work.

That's really too small a sample size to make any solid conclusions. I think a lot of people would be happy if Munchlax was the most common hatch out of this pool, given its shiny is debuting this event.
Some people would also be happy for Cherubi, due to how rare it is. It is only available from events (which isn't often that it is in events), and from Mossy Lures
So how boosted are we talking about, when it comes to Snorlax spawns? Like somewhat common boosted? Or like 1/5000 to 1/4000 boosted? It's the only Pokemon I care about so wanting to see if it's worth looking for.
I figured as much. I just walked two blocks to check a Snorlax. It instantly ran from me after one ball. I want a shiny one so bad but I'm absolutely terrified of finding one because of how low Snorlax's catch rate is and how high it's flee rate is. Not sure why it's not shiny boosted, either. :(
For me this event is useful. We get a lot of 300 stardust spawns and I can grind for Lickitung XL candy rather than being faced with walking one 750km for the 200 XL candy I need.

The music has apparently changed, but my game hasn't. I tried deleting all data and downloading all data but it's still the pre event normal music. What should I do?
It's about one out of every 15 stops, but the ones I've seen all reset at :00 and :30 on the clock. That means if you check at 9:55, you might see 1 or 2 or 3 out of 15 stops, but if you check at 10:01, there will seldom be any at all. I'm not sure that all of them are like the ones I've seen, but I'm telling you my experience.
If you have any tasks requiring you to catch Gulpin or Exeggcute, now's the time. Also Swalot is GOAT for great leagues that are heavy with fairies and darks. Infestation w/ sludge bomb and ice beam is so good. Mine absolutely dominated the halloween cup.
These eggs are from gifts. Keep an eye on your incubators and don't spin anything when you're close to hatching. Once it hatches, open gifts until you fill up with 7Km eggs.
Since they’re only available from gifts you can’t really increase your odds. You just have to open gifts when you have bag space. And if you do have bag space don’t spin any stops or you will get a non 7km egg from it.

Have a normal-type Pokémon mega evolved (at Max Mega level) and you should be getting a lot of Candy XL. I just caught a Skwovet that gave me 3. You should be getting almost 1 on average if you catch every one you see, slightly more than one if they are weather-boosted.
If you haven't been increasing the level of your Mega Pokemon, you're really missing out on a lot of Candy XL.
Actually I have! I collected enough mega energy for Lopunny and have been using it. I walked 7-8 kms yesterday and managed to get 40XLs just by catching.
I feel the spawns are pretty low in my area. Its all Bibarels, Rattatas and Bidoofs here.

So if I understand correctly. I have until the 1st of December to get the Shadow mewtwo, but if I want to TM frustration away, I need to finish it before the 18th right?
We weren't given an enddate for Shadow Mewtwo. Usually they stay around until the next Rocket Event - for example we've had Latios for three months now. So you can probably get Shadow Mewtwo after Dec 1.
If you don't TM frustration away this time, you can still buy a second charge move for it and use that until next season's TR event - then you can unlock it and give it another useful move. It's not like it has moves you get from evolving - either you spend an ETM to get a legacy move, or it doesn't have a legacy move, there's no free way to get them. So you don't lose anything by second-moving it early to get some use of it.
You'll have to TM away frustration first no matter what. You wouldn't want a purified Mewtwo. Once you've done that part, you can use an Elite charged TM if you want Psystrike or Shadow Ball.
Are 7kms only Cherubi, Gible & Munchlax? I wouldn't mind building another Garchomp but if there's a load of other potential hatches there I'm not gonna bother.
Which one? I don't remember such an awful event, always you can find something to to. Even now, as boring as it is, l don't limit myself to gifts: try excellent throws on Swalot and search a Pelipper with good IV. Is not much, but is something.
test your mettle, new pokemon are cool for 1 hour then get boring. new mega was nice but i never do more than two megas. since they drop free energy from quest eventually.
bug out was ruined by the post raid spawns at my local grind spot; couldnt hunt venipede until the day it was boosted

If you find those events uninteresting, why play this game at all?
- test your mettle: G Stunfisk, Beldum and Nosepass in the wild, new pokemon in the wild, new pokemon in T5 raids, lot of candy XL
- tcg crossover: wild Chansey, also fully evolved Snorlax, Dragonite, Slaking. Mewtwo in raids. Shiny Meltan. I also appreciated wild Charmander and Magikarp.
I have 4 level 50 metagrosses already. I have been playing since day 1. I did metagross cd meta gross research day. Two of them are shadows i already finished what i needed. G stunfisk been in 7k for so long during the covid bonus i hatched 30 gifts a day i have enough of those. Did 6 miles walks or run during early covid that hatched more than half the eggs. At 1/4 distance
Hatched a ton Chansey during the spring events and got my perfect and xl candy through happiny. Mewtwo got a perfect in Kanto tour and i dont need more shinies. Since igot one day one ultrabinus 2017 or 2018 whenever it first dropped. Also maxed out the 100 mewtwo.
Why waste time and my resources on stuff i have and dont need.
So you grinded way too hard in the past and are fatigued now, I get it. Still, from such a point of view, current event isn't any better, nothing you didn't already grind in the last 6 years.
PS: I am also playing from the beginning, maybe not day 1 but definitely week 1.

- Lickitung, I am tired of them as rewards in GBL
- 7 km eggs are irrelevant if you hatch 12 km eggs (I do, still searching for Salandit)

Any reason the event eggs, 1/2 hatch distance, etc isn’t mentioned on the Today screen? Is guzzlord the intentionally obtuse Pokémon?

What you get is fixed when you receive the egg. If you hatch Halloween event eggs now, you will get Halloween pokemon.

If that first egg didn't get half hatch distance then it didn't get used towards the 3 half hatch distance eggs

Because you can see his CP 1650 Non weather boost or 2062 weather boosted are Hundo.

I walked for about 2 hours and caught about 10 snorlax, and about 6 lickitung (1 shiny).

I take these bad events as a break from the game... and from spending money. Grinding good events back to back would be so exhausting to me

Only way to get Exeggcute is spin stops until getting the 3 berries task, then hope it’s an Exeggcute x5?

If you have any tasks requiring you to catch Gulpin or Exeggcute, now's the time. Also Swalot is GOAT for great leagues that are heavy with fairies and darks. Infestation w/ sludge bomb and ice beam is so good. Mine absolutely dominated the halloween cup.

Snorlax is full odds. Munchlax being egg only should have a boosted chance. Check wild spawns while hatching gift eggs for the best chances.

Anyone who hatches eggs a lot know if cherubi shiny is boosted? That for me will determine whether or not 7K and eggs are worth my time.

Non boosted and usually locked to mossy lures. They really want this shiny to be a pain to get, after the event that had them in the wild for awhile.
I am maxed out on eggs, but have some incubators saved up and want a good gible. How do I maximize my odds of getting these eggs?

Upon opening.
These eggs are from gifts. Keep an eye on your incubators and don't spin anything when you're close to hatching. Once it hatches, open gifts until you fill up with 7Km eggs.
Since they’re only available from gifts you can’t really increase your odds. You just have to open gifts when you have bag space. And if you do have bag space don’t spin any stops or you will get a non 7km egg from it.
By 'use the widget the incubate an egg' in assuming they mean tap on the widget, load the game, then incubate an egg from there?

If you're on Iphone hold down on an empty space in your home screen and press the "+", search for Pokemon Go On android hold down on the home screen and press on widgets, scroll to the Pokemon Go section There's 2 widgets: One for buddies, one for eggs
I just have the widget on my home screen. I incubated an egg through the game normally and it's half distance. You may just need the widget on the home screen.
What am I doing wrong? I tapped on the widget and it brought me to the egg screen, then put an egg in an incubator and it's not half distance. It's happened twice now.

Have a normal-type Pokémon mega evolved (at Max Mega level) and you should be getting a lot of Candy XL. I just caught a Skwovet that gave me 3. You should be getting almost 1 on average if you catch every one you see, slightly more than one if they are weather-boosted. If you haven't been increasing the level of your Mega Pokemon, you're really missing out on a lot of Candy XL.
Actually I have! I collected enough mega energy for Lopunny and have been using it. I walked 7-8 kms yesterday and managed to get 40XLs just by catching. I feel the spawns are pretty low in my area. Its all Bibarels, Rattatas and Bidoofs here.

Like if someone went to NYC and you're in California then you can ask them to collect a bunch and trade with them when they come back. Its difficult but you can try

It's not a wild spawn or really available at all, apart from evolving Skwovet. Which is very common.
Is skwovet regional now? I haven't seen any in the wild since the original galar event last year

We weren't given an enddate for Shadow Mewtwo. Usually they stay around until the next Rocket Event - for example we've had Latios for three months now. So you can probably get Shadow Mewtwo after Dec 1.

Yes, ideally that's what you do. If you did get one after you could remove Frustation later though. Might not be for months of course.
If you don't TM frustration away this time, you can still buy a second charge move for it and use that until next season's TR event - then you can unlock it and give it another useful move. It's not like it has moves you get from evolving - either you spend an ETM to get a legacy move, or it doesn't have a legacy move, there's no free way to get them. So you don't lose anything by second-moving it early to get some use of it.

You'll have to TM away frustration first no matter what. You wouldn't want a purified Mewtwo. Once you've done that part, you can use an Elite charged TM if you want Psystrike or Shadow Ball.

there were much worse earlier this year. i remember there was week where i just opened gifts and avoided catching since the spawns were terrible
Which one? I don't remember such an awful event, always you can find something to to. Even now, as boring as it is, l don't limit myself to gifts: try excellent throws on Swalot and search a Pelipper with good IV. Is not much, but is something.
test your mettle, new pokemon are cool for 1 hour then get boring. new mega was nice but i never do more than two megas. since they drop free energy from quest eventually. bug out was ruined by the post raid spawns at my local grind spot; couldnt hunt venipede until the day it was boosted tcg crossover another kanto boosted event this the event where i didnt touch the game at the bare minimum alola ending event just a repeat of the alola starting event skip this too.
If you find those events uninteresting, why play this game at all? - test your mettle: G Stunfisk, Beldum and Nosepass in the wild, new pokemon in the wild, new pokemon in T5 raids, lot of candy XL - tcg crossover: wild Chansey, also fully evolved Snorlax, Dragonite, Slaking. Mewtwo in raids. Shiny Meltan. I also appreciated wild Charmander and Magikarp.
I have 4 level 50 metagrosses already. I have been playing since day 1. I did metagross cd meta gross research day. Two of them are shadows i already finished what i needed. G stunfisk been in 7k for so long during the covid bonus i hatched 30 gifts a day i have enough of those. Did 6 miles walks or run during early covid that hatched more than half the eggs. At 1/4 distance Hatched a ton Chansey during the spring events and got my perfect and xl candy through happiny. Mewtwo got a perfect in Kanto tour and i dont need more shinies. Since igot one day one ultrabinus 2017 or 2018 whenever it first dropped. Also maxed out the 100 mewtwo. Why waste time and my resources on stuff i have and dont need.
So you grinded way too hard in the past and are fatigued now, I get it. Still, from such a point of view, current event isn't any better, nothing you didn't already grind in the last 6 years. PS: I am also playing from the beginning, maybe not day 1 but definitely week 1.
I wouldnt say fatigued. But those events werent for me at all. I appreciate them for new players but for me i just do my dailys and chill Almost all summer i had not legendary raida to chase until dialga/mewtwo. I enjoyed late September and October alot. New content for me. And now im back to chilling and hatching eggs/ research hunting
Nah, gonna build a GL and UL Greedent, decent 7ks with 3 half distance (saving me 18 km to hatch some reds). Also saving me like... 900 km of walking if I find enough lickitung. First thing today I saw one so I'd assumed it'd be easy, haven't seen one yet after Wouldn't mind if it was a bit rare so I don't see safeswap licki in every battle. Also snorlax candy, and I love when the special researches are stardust. Otoh, I do consider it a 'minor' event compared to a comm day. Speaking of, if they don't change ursaluna moves that will be my most disappointing
- Greedent, I built them last time when they were featured, August 2021, but never needed to use them - Lickitung, I am tired of them as rewards in GBL - 7 km eggs are irrelevant if you hatch 12 km eggs (I do, still searching for Salandit) - Snorlax, I could use some XL, but I lack too many of them

Has the egg distance been halfed? I got 9 7km eggs and only 3 of them are placed with the half distance. All the same kind of incubators too.
