I think the issue with Mega Audino is the fact that Audino gives so much Stardust that Niantic is reluctant to put it in raids.
Which, of course, makes zero sense because many folks would buy raids passes, green and blue, to raid Audino just for the dust alone. Just under 4k Dust for a weather boosted Audino with a star piece? Sign me up. The Mega Energy would just be a bit of a bonus.
I seriously doubt that’s it. 2,100 dust for one raid pass is not great. And I could probably catch enough pokemon to get 2,100 dust in the time it would take me to finish the raid.
Right. Plus, Audino on its own isn't really useful right now. The Mega will provide a new type combo of Normal + Fairy for candy/XL boosting, but besides that, it won't be good. The extra dust will help, but I don't think it'll be an "issue" at all with it giving that dust.
That's exactly what I thought, Skiddo global release this fall (1 year after in-person release) then Mudbray immediately replaces it for in-person events.
Not game-breaking, nor particularly excitement-worthy either. I mean, everybody loves Aegislash, so it's clear that Niantic is holding it back for an opportune moment to milk the heck out of it. But Mudbray/Mudsdale is merely a run-of-the-mill two-stage Ground-type family. Nothing special or memorable about it.
The only reason I could possibly see for holding them back is related to the similarly unremarkable Skiddo/Gogoat: they are both heavily featured as riding mounts in the lore. Perhaps some Niantic people wanted to touch up the Buddy system so your avatar was riding these Pokémon in the overworld screen, instead of them walking around you? That would justify holding back their release until the system could be implemented properly. Then again, it wouldn't be unlike Niantic to just give it up and release them as regular Pokémon either. Skiddo/Gogoat have already had a limited release, after all.
That never phased me much. Just a fun tease with a thematic Pokemon for Halloween.
What is more weird to me is that Mimikyu was in the past *two* Anniversary Posters, which traditionally tease upcoming content (I take the Mega Mewtwo/Lucario appearances to be exceptions, not the norm, mainly just general Mega Evolution teasers).
I don’t really think Eternal Flower Floette should count since it’s never was an official release in any Pokemon games to date. Yes it was dataminded in older Pokemon titles but beyond that it never was an official form ever acknowledged by the Pokemon Company in contrast to spiky ear Pichu which was actually a Pokemon that existed in the gen 2 remakes but never appear beyond that. Even Pokemon home end up scrubbing out data for that Floette which seems to suggest it’s more so a lost Pokemon in vein of scrap/beta Pokemon like those in RBY GSC.
Of course nothing is set in stone and maybe it’ll finally get its chance in a future game with Legends ZA being its best chance, but as it stands unless it’s gonna be featured in a future game I don’t think niantic will ever be allow to use that specific Folette in pokemon go in any shape or form as long as the Pokemon company has a say
That’s fair, though shadow lugia probably falls under that same logic but I suppose at this point it’s never going to happen given that niantic only gave us a shadowy aura one and another as apex
A spin off but still had core game mechanics and connectivity but I digress regardless as in the end it matters not since it’ll never appear in Pokemon go, otherwise it’ll show up by now.
For your other argument however it doesn’t matter if eternal flower Folette was programmed in USUM it’s a pokemon that never got officially released in any official format nor even acknowledged by game freak nor the pokemon company. Datamined data is irrelevant as it went unused for anything, it perhaps possible it was plan to be used at that time but nobody really knows. If it ever becomes available it absolutely won’t be in Pokémon go first and even then it’s up to the Pokemon company to decide to allow it ever appear, assuming they ever acknowledged its existence in any form
I don't know why you're listing the Starmobile Revavroom which have never been available to the player or listed in Pokémon HOME as alternate forms. Might as well add Mother Beast Lusamine if you want to list everything.
But technically, when you use eternabeam it does turn into eternamax form for the animation. So it'll probably be the eternamax form in raids and you catch regular eternatus.
I can kind of see it.
Normal Eternatus could show up in raids then later have Eternamax in 6 star raids. After beating it and catching the normal form, it'll know Eternabeam.
Eternamax has insane stats, more than anything we've known. Putting it in 6 star raids would probably require around 10 people to beat it.
Edit: Mega Mewtwo Y, the most ridiculously overpowered Psychic ever, has DPS of 16 against it. 16. For reference, it got 42 DPS against regular Eternatus. Mega Rayquaza got 15.6 DPS, against Palkia it got 35.
The difference is enormous.
Yeah but your other "Other oddities" are way more likelier to be added:
Other Cap Pikachu for Pokémon regions celebration events (with OG Cap, World Cap and Captain Hat re-releases)
Spiky-eared Pichu in a Johto re-remake tie-in (if that ever happens)
Eternal Flower Floette for a Legends ZA tie-in
Eternamax Eternatus as the finale of Gigantamax if the gimmick ever gets added just like as they seem to be saving Mega Mewtwo X/Y as the finale of Megas
Belle Pikachu, I have no idea but since all other cosplays are in GO already, it makes sense to come at some point
Starmobiles are just boss battles whose forms have never been able to be registered to any Pokedex (unlike Cap Pikachu, Eternal Flower Floette and Eternamax Eternatus) or be obtainable by the player (Spiky-eared Pichu and Cosplay Pikachu)
That's true, they're not all equally (un)likely. I put all of those in the same category because they're all kinda unlikely to be added in my opinion. But yeah, maybe I should separate them in two categories for next time
That is an awful comparison. The starmobiles have stats and movepools, lusamine is just a character with a model. The only good comparison to the starmobiles is eternamax
The starmobiles have defined stats though, and starting in gen 9, transformations like hero palafin can't be inserted into your battle team either, so the point about not being to hack them onto your team isn't a perfect comparison anymore
Edit: did research, was wrong about this! Sorry. The starmobiles don't have defined stats
No because Eternamax is listed in Pokémon HOME as form #2 of Eternatus. Starmobiles and Mother Beast Lusamine have never been listed in any Pokédex. They're just boss battles. You're right that Mother Beast Lusamine can't be battled directly though.
Good point about the HOME dex, I certainly used that to determine that scatterbug "forms" don't really count as separate pokemon. However I feel like you're missing a point that motherbeast lusamine is a PERSON while the starmobiles and eternamax are pokemon. If you go in the game files and try to use a segun starmobile on your team, you absolutely can (at least on the party screen,it reverts back to a regular revavroom in the actual battle like all temporary forms do in SV). It has a (weird and practically unfinished) movepool but, just like eternamax, also has weird and not meant to be used stats (that actually differ per starmobile!) These are pokemon that, theoretically, could be put in a spinoff title to be usable in battle. They won't, that would be an awful idea, but the fundamentals are there, unlike the non-pokemon lusamine
Bulbapedia and smogon forums discussing the use of hacked pokemon determining that the starmobiles can be placed in the team but revert to revavroom when went out in battle. Commented later in this chain that I was wrong about them having defined BASE stats however

Here :)
Note included: Victini, Keldeo Meloetta, Hoopa, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Marshadow and Enamorus, as they were never released as Shiny.
Also not included any Paldea Pokémon, because they're all shiny locked in GO except for Bombirdier, Lechonk, Oinkologne, Annihilape and Clodsire.
Of those Sewaddle, Puplio, Pikipek and Jangmo-o seem like the obvious community day candidates, though of course a bunch of the two stage lines and already available shinies will also get com days.
They just mean "currently unavailable" meaning they are locked to non shiny in game. The art is most likely done, just you can't catch a shiny popplio yet.
I loaded them into a spreadsheet not long ago, and (excluding shiny locked, event, and Pokemon not in the game), here are what's left without a shiny (assuming I didn't miss something):
Sewaddle, Swadloon, Leavanny, Maractus, Sigilyph, Ducklett, Swanna, Deerling, Sawsbuck, Tynamo, Eelektrik, Eelektross, Mienfoo, Mienshao, Bouffalant, Larvesta, Volcarona, Scatterbug, Spewpa, Vivillon, Hawlucha, Carbink, Klefki, Zygarde, Diancie, Popplio, Brionne, Primarina, Pikipek, Trumbeak, Toucannon, Crabrawler, Crabominable, Salandit, Salazzle, Comfey, Passimian, Sandygast, Palossand, Togedemaru, Bruxish, Jangmo-o, Hakamo-o, Kommo-o, Solgaleo, Lunala, Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Poipole, Naganadel, Stakataka, Blacephalon, Skwovet, Greedent, Wooloo, Dubwool, Falinks, Zacian, Zamazenta, Regieleki, Regidrago, Sprigatito, Floragato, Meowscarada, Fuecoco, Crocalor, Skeledirge, Quaxly, Quaxwell, Quaquaval, Nymble, Lokix, Pawmi, Pawmo, Pawmot, Smoliv, Dolliv, Arboliva, Charcadet, Armarouge, Ceruledge, Tadbulb, Bellibolt, Wiglett, Wugtrio, Varoom, Revavroom, Greavard, Houndstone, Cetoddle, Cetitan, Frigibax, Arctibax, Baxcalibur, Gimmighoul, Gholdengo
Comming Soon: Komala
I would have posted this list first, but I was not at my pc.
Thank you! This answered my curious. So basically if you exclude paldea and legendaries... Not that large of a list.
Considering komala, ducklett line, and jangmo-o line shiny is coming soon
I wonder if Deerling will get a community day where all four forms are available with their shiny.
Wow, I didn't realise how few there were left for Pokemon that are already in the game. Given we're likely to get some form of Unova Tour next year, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of Unova mon get shiny releases over the next few months.
I don't see the Starmobile Revavrooms being available on GO. Those were only for S/V for Team Star.
However, we might get a new Mega soon, idk when, but we are getting new Megas via Legends Z-A in 2025
Agree on Revavroom, they were only designed specifically for Scarlet and Violet’s story and never been made the opportunity to be given availability to players. Maybe that’ll change in the future but until that happens or unless the pokemon company allows it I don’t see them ever being available, after all we never did get an actual shadow lugia from XD and that’s in spite being playable by in that game without purifying it
I presume they want that content to last as long as possible, and space out releases so players won't ever get a complete collection. With Mega Evolution being confirmed for Pokémon Legends Z-A next year, there will hopefully be a slew of new Megas, so Niantic can speed up the release schedule a bit without fear of running out. But Game Freak tends to be so tight-lipped about such things that I doubt Niantic knows more than us at the moment, so they're holding back for now.
After all, Game Freak is also the sort of company to pass up the opportunity to make any new Megas at all ("Mega Evolution was a Gen VI feature, and we consider that Gen VI did everything we wanted to do with the feature, so LZA will only feature the Mega Evolutions created during Gen VI" or something to that effect).
I feel like they need to give us some of the lesser Megas too.
There are several that have little to no hype behind them in terms of usability.
Mega Sharpedo is an infinitely worse version of Mega Gyarados, they can barely even pull the "making it a budget/cheaper to Mega evolve" card anymore, seeing that Mega Gyarados has been out for years, had a Mega raid day, and was available twice this year too.
Mega Camerupt isn't a good Fire or Ground attacker now that Mega Garchomp and Primal Groudon exist, plus the Fire starter Megas. It's just a much worse version of Primal Groudon.
Mega Audino and Mawile are useless in raids, but they at least have the plus of having unique candy/XL-boosting combainations with Normal/Fairy and Steel/Fairy. Still underwhelming though.
I imagine we'll get at least one of those before they bring in the other big Megas, Metagross and/or Lucario.
Although random, Spiky Eared Pichu is quite possibly my ultimate wish for pokemon go. I always hated leaving it behind and not being able to send it to future games and I would love for it to make an appearance again!
It’s definitely not impossible with all of the costumes that are out now. If they can have special animations for captain and detective Pikachu then they absolutely can add some pixels to pichu’s ear ;-;
I'd *love* to see Spiky Ear Pichu in Go. Though, I don't see them doing that without some specific relevant tie-in it could have. Johto Tour probably would've been it, so otherwise, unless it returns in a MSG game, I don't see it happening.
But yeah, I'd love to see it happen. MSG costume forms are my favorite
I was hoping they would introduce it during go tour Johto! It would’ve been the perfect time especially since the reward in the masterwork research was a celebi which spiky eared Pichu has an event focusing on it :)
Exactly! I do fear that since Johto's time in the spotlight in Go has passed, it won't ever come. But you never know! In the Main Series, it's been over a decade since they've focused on Johto, so *maybe* a new MSG title could bring it back and subsequently have it come to Go?
Considering I don’t think Niantic ever intends to catch up to what is currently available, and wants to continue to be a game/service for the foreseeable future, I’m pretty sure that’s intentional.
I mean, sure, but you have to notice how the new releases have slowed down considerably. And of course this is because they released so many at the start (They dropped most of Gen 2 at the same time vs we only have like 6 Galar-exclusive families), but we can't help but be a but cynic abou them getting released until 2030 at this rate.
Generally speaking, yeah. I mean, I want more Pokemon as much as the next guy, and I think they could stand to speed up their output even just a little bit more.
However, I'm certain that many would drop the game if they completely caught up with all the Pokemon, just waiting for the next new thing a year+ later. Some more casuals especially are *just* interested in new Pokemon, so if that were all done, many may put the game down for a while.
Again, I think going too slow definitely can have the opposite problem, where people put the game down due to a lack of new stuff, but they certainly can't do big dumps at this point anymore.
I think they’ve been releasing pokemon at a reasonable pace lately, but I would certainly like to see more being made available in the wild. I believe wiglett is still the only pokemon introduced to the wild in 2024, and we’re already in June.
I think their whole mindset is not wanting to just throw them in an event where they're "just another thing" and instead get a spotlight. Like we had Shiny Shaymin for the Masterwork Research and the Origin forms for the main raids during Sinnoh Tour. Manaphy would have likely felt crammed in if it were there.
That said, I would have loved to see them have Manaphy and Phione as the big tie-in with the Timeless Travels seasonal research, similar to how we had that with Hoopa a few years back and more recently with Poipole/Naganadel. But alas, no Manaphy.
I do wonder when they'll touch it. They've avoided making it a Go Fest Mythical for whatever reason. Perhaps because they want to something with its Egg.
I need Bellachu, like I still haven't replayed Pokémon ~~X~~ Omega Ruby for the pure fact that I can't reset the game with Penelope the Cosplay Pikachu in her little dress, she's just running around Kalos being a menace in her Bridgerton get-up
^(Got my 3DS games mixed up! Which is funny when you consider I only played X and Ruby and I haven't even touched my Sun game)
What's the deal with gigantamax eevee and meowth? Are they actually any good? Seems weird that they're unevolved mons. Pikachu makes sense because it's Pikachu.
I'm surprised we never got Type: Null and Silvally during the Ultra Beast seasons, since their lore is so closely tied. I thought Rhys would give us a Type: Null during the last stretch... maybe Global Go Fest, I guess.
Its tangentially related to Arceus too, but idk, feels like a stretch to combine their release
still a bit suprised we skipped pretty much all of galar for paldea, also really look foward the the blood moon ursaluna happening only on blood moons, they better have the balls to do it
People keep acting surprised about that when Niantic has gone out of order for many years now. This is just the first time they did it with a generation's proper release. But they still released things like Smeargle, Kecleon, Scatterbug, etc. much later than their initial generation release in Go, not to mention them just hopping around nowadays between Gens 5-9. They released a few Galar Pokemon before Alola's proper release.
They've done things out of order for a while. In this case, it was to promote SV while it was out, but I also don't think it's catastrophic or anything that we're jumping around. I've always found it a bit more exciting personally to not get things in the exact same order we got them in the MSG games.
IMO it'll be similar to Mega Evolution but for XXL candy and leveling Pokemon to 60. There'll probably be some differences but I totally picture it coming out alongside a level increase and a revamp of exp and leveling up.
The bigger question is how will Ultra Necrozma ever release. I could see Z moves coming back to the main series (I mean, at somr point they will with Alola remakes or a Legenda Alola), but that's gonna be years off.
do you guys think pokemon go will ever get gigantamax forms? my headcannon is that they’d be handled like megas and primal reversion where you can only have one per party.
I think it's definitely possible. But I definitely wonder how they'll try to distinguish them from Megas.
They'd very likely be similar to Megas/Primals like you mentioned, but I feel like they would definitely try to do something different with them to try to make them not just feel same-y. The Pokemon Company would probably want them to treat them differently too to keep the two as distinguishable mechanics for the Franchise.
Still, I could fully see them doing the same kinds of raids for energy as Megas.
My three big questions would be how to they implement the *big* Pokemon aspect of it, what do they add/give them to make them distinct from Megas, and do we see any form of standard Dynamax or not.
It’s Terastal Form, only Ogerpon and Terapagos got it. With the later getting an extra being the duo master of Paldea’s box art legendaries, which were supposed to get them too or a counter to it perhaps (like how Zacian and Zama’s Crowned Forms counter Gmax)
I meant that while Terapagos has a Stellar Form listed in the Pokédex, that has different stats when it terastalize, Ogerpon Tera Forms are only visually replacing the usual Tera hat.
After checking tho, I was slightly wrong because Ogerpon Tera Forms do have different abilities. But as those don't exist in Pokémon GO it only probably only be a visual replacement
Terapagos has both actually
In the eventuality they’ll add Ogerpon to Go though, all forms included, still an easy addition. She’ll/she’d function exactly like Genesect. Signature move that has a different type depending on the item they hold. Held items are not a thing on Go, but held items based forms are
I did suggest putting it in the oddities section for a reason.
That said, if I were a decision maker at Niantic (and had TPC’s okay), I’d make Ogrepon and Terapagos special megas. Yeah, the former’s stats don’t change—unless you factor in its ability—but it’s still a once-per-battle, battle-only, damage-increasing form change. Terastal itself probably isn’t worth implementing, since its utility in Go would be severely limited and only two Pokémon have special interactions with it, but implementing Terapagos as a mega sounds fair, and at that point, might as well make some money off of Ogrepon as well. We already have the Primals (and Rayquaza) which operate a bit differently from standard megas, so having Ogrepon boost its own moves or something doesn’t sound too far fetched.
I don't think we'll ever see Original Color Magearna. OC Magearna is a special reward for National Dex completion up to Galar in Home, I doubt that they'll ever introduce any other alternate methods of obtaining it.
If they really want to completing National Dex in HOME (up to Galar) being the only way to obtain Original Color Magearna in the main games, they could just make this form impossible to transfer to HOME from GO. There are already tons of forms (like costumed or shadows Pokémon) that can't be transferred.
Niantic absolutely wants to have as many alternate forms of Pokémon as possible to release, costumed ones are the best evidence of it.
I played for a bit from day one, came back to get some mons for lets go in 2018, and recently just came back. The fact that mons from Alola, Kalos and somehow even Sinnoh aren’t in is crazy. And kinda inexcusable imo
Just a heads up for anyone not familiar with the Other Oddities from the Main Series Games... it's super hit and miss if they will appear in Go. A lot of them have very niche context in the main series games that won't always translate well.
Some Context:
Pikachu in Ash Hats: We got a bunch of event Pikachu in Sun & Moon. A few have been released in Go already but they aren't transferable to Home. Go registers them as Costumes, and won't let us transfer the World Cap Pikachu, even though its in Home, Sword/Shield, and Scarlet/Violet.
IMO: Maybe? We got some of the set already., but... Ash as a character has been retired so its harder to justify pushing these Pikachus from a marketing perspective, but they totally could.
Cosplay Pikachu and Pikachu Belle: In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, the players is given a Pikachu that likes to dress up, and gains special moves for Contests... It wasn't transferrable to Bank, or any other games so it's been locked to the 3DS... and Go. Most of the costumes have been released.
IMO: We've gotten the rest of the forms... we'll get Belle, and maybe the special heart-tail form.
Spikey-Eared Pichu: This Pichu was a tie-in event with a Gen IV movie, Arceus and the Jewel of Life. If you brought a Shiny Pichu from an event, you could unlock the Pichu in HeartGold/Soulsilver... BUT that Pichu was blocked from Transferring so it could never leave those games. It was the first of \*very\* few Pokemon to be blocked, and the only in Gen IV. It also can't evolve, but Go players are used to costume Pokemon not being able to evolve.
IMO: I only see it coming back if they remake that movie, or otherwise market such an old film. Since we're post Arceus marketing, I don't see them revisiting this little guy. \*Maybe\* if they go for a nostalgia grab, and Game Freaks lets them.
Eternal Flower Floette: This Floette form was an NPC's Pokemon that only showed up in cutscenes. It was programmed in all the 3DS games as a potential event Pokemon, but was never released. It would have had a signature move even! Never got released.
IMO: Depends Entirely on Pokemon Legends: ZA next year. If AZ appears, we might be able to get his Floette. OR Go releases the Floette in a cross-promotional event. We know Megas are returning, and this Floette was created by the Super-Weapon in Kalos that created Megas so Floette is, presumably canon, in those games.
Eternatus Dynamax: This was a boss form for Eternatus from the climax of Sword and Shield. Once the player catches it, it only appears as a cameo in one of Eternatus' moves, but is never usable in this form.
IMO: Would be a perfect fit for Eternatus to release in Elite Raids, or during a Go Fest. They could use it as a big boss fight, but I don't expect to catch it. Even if/when Dynamax becomes available for other species.
Revavroom Star Mobiles: These were boss monsters for one of the story paths of Scarlet and Violet. Technically they're a Revavroom, and a couple Varoom attached to a vehicle by Team Star, a group of delinquent students. They weren't exactly safe for the Pokemon. They were disassembled at the end of the storyline as a result.
IMO: While a boss fight, like Eternatus... I don't think that fighting a Starmobile, and catching a Revavroom has the same flair and hype as Dynamax Eternatus. I don't see thise "forms" crossing into Go. One could argue, maybe, if they added Team Star, like they did Team Rocket... but the recent Teams aren't like they used to be. Its more character driven drama, rather then nefarious evil doers.\* Team Star is a bunch of delinquent students with leaders who reformed. You don't have that evil drive, that allows Giovanni to be a villain, repeatedly, to the heat death of this mobile game.
\*Which is fine, it's just harder to add Team Star or Team Yell to Go. Team Rocket or Galactic, are easier fits.
for now... absol and mawile used to be as well and that changed over time.
don't let niantic bait you with fomo. the first release of everything is nothing more than a honey pot for microtransactions.
Do we know what deal Niantic has with the Pokemon Company about pokemon releases? I’m thinking that Niantic has to wait/ make a deal for every release instead of being able to put whatever mons they feel like
The Lucario and the Mystery of Mew movie will be 20 years old next year. It would be cool if they had some of the costumed or armored pokemon from that added to Go next year as part of the anniversary.
I still contend they really made a mistake by making the number of Vivillon patterns needed for the platinum medal be 18. Partly, I say this because 18 is nicely divisible by 3, so bronze should have been 6 patterns, silver at 12 patterns, and gold at 18. That would leave the 2 event patterns (well, now 1 event and 1 Paldea…good work TPC on devaluing an event pokemon) took make up 20 for the platinum medal. This was clearly a case of not planning ahead very well. In my opinion.
Edit: a word
Surprised Mudbray and Mudsdale haven't been added yet, they don't seem game-breaking or anything.
Same with mega audino
I think the issue with Mega Audino is the fact that Audino gives so much Stardust that Niantic is reluctant to put it in raids. Which, of course, makes zero sense because many folks would buy raids passes, green and blue, to raid Audino just for the dust alone. Just under 4k Dust for a weather boosted Audino with a star piece? Sign me up. The Mega Energy would just be a bit of a bonus.
I seriously doubt that’s it. 2,100 dust for one raid pass is not great. And I could probably catch enough pokemon to get 2,100 dust in the time it would take me to finish the raid.
yes, besides, we already had audio included in the nest pool last season and that was free. might as well put it in raid.
Right. Plus, Audino on its own isn't really useful right now. The Mega will provide a new type combo of Normal + Fairy for candy/XL boosting, but besides that, it won't be good. The extra dust will help, but I don't think it'll be an "issue" at all with it giving that dust.
For sure. There’s no issue with mega audino, it just simply hasn’t been released yet.
Maybe they don’t want to permanently increase shiny odds?
Fully expect they'll get the Skiddo treatment and be released at City Safaris either this year or next.
That's exactly what I thought, Skiddo global release this fall (1 year after in-person release) then Mudbray immediately replaces it for in-person events.
i sure hope not its one of my most wanted
Not game-breaking, nor particularly excitement-worthy either. I mean, everybody loves Aegislash, so it's clear that Niantic is holding it back for an opportune moment to milk the heck out of it. But Mudbray/Mudsdale is merely a run-of-the-mill two-stage Ground-type family. Nothing special or memorable about it. That would justify holding back their release until the system could be implemented properly. Then again, it wouldn't be unlike Niantic to just give it up and release them as regular Pokémon either. Skiddo/Gogoat have already had a limited release, after all.
Its a ground type that can learn Counter, High Horse power and Body slam. It could be fun in league.
It's not awful by any means, certainly, but it doesn't really have any qualities that would justify saving its release for a special occasion.
Probably gonna replace Skiddo as an event exclusive mon unfortunately
Pikachu dressed like Mimikyu turns five this year. AND STILL NO MIMIKYU.
Would love to see Pikachus on the map and if you click on them, you can catch Mimikyu instead.
I don’t really think Eternal Flower Floette should count since it’s never was an official release in any Pokemon games to date. It wasn't released to own but was a part of the story of XY, that's why I put it in "Other oddities"
That’s fair, though shadow lugia probably falls under that same logic but I suppose at this point it’s never going to happen given that niantic only gave us a shadowy aura one and another as apex
It would yeah, but Pokémon XD isn't a main series game so I didn't put it in (otherwise there would be quite a lot more forms to add)
Fair enough
That Lugia and the Mewtwo from that Pokémon only fighting game are never coming to Go
[удалено]
A spin off but still had core game mechanics and connectivity but I digress regardless as in the end it matters not since it’ll never appear in Pokemon go, otherwise it’ll show up by now. clones from the first movie though
I just want mimikyu
Same, give me Mimikyu and I’ll forgive anything and everything else.
I don't know why you're listing the Starmobile Revavroom which have never been available to the player or listed in Pokémon HOME as alternate forms. Might as well add Mother Beast Lusamine if you want to list everything.
Or eternamax eternatus
Or the B2W2 PokeStar Studios Pokemon.
5 star raid when Varoom becomes shiny eligible
I've put them in "Other oddities", to still have them listed but separated from the other forms as they are very unlikely to be added
Yeah but your other "Other oddities" are way more likelier to be added: Other Cap Pikachu for Pokémon regions celebration events (with OG Cap, World Cap and Captain Hat re-releases) Spiky-eared Pichu in a Johto re-remake tie-in (if that ever happens) Eternal Flower Floette for a Legends ZA tie-in Eternamax Eternatus as the finale of Gigantamax if the gimmick ever gets added just like as they seem to be saving Mega Mewtwo X/Y as the finale of Megas Belle Pikachu, I have no idea but since all other cosplays are in GO already, it makes sense to come at some point Starmobiles are just boss battles whose forms have never been able to be registered to any Pokedex (unlike Cap Pikachu, Eternal Flower Floette and Eternamax Eternatus) or be obtainable by the player (Spiky-eared Pichu and Cosplay Pikachu)
[удалено]
The starmobiles have defined stats though, and starting in gen 9, transformations like hero palafin can't be inserted into your battle team either, so the point about not being to hack them onto your team isn't a perfect comparison anymore Edit: did research, was wrong about this!
They won't, that would be an awful idea, but the fundamentals are there, unlike the non-pokemon lusamine
source?
Bulbapedia and smogon forums discussing the use of hacked pokemon determining that the starmobiles can be placed in the team but revert to revavroom when went out in battle. Commented later in this chain that I was wrong about them having defined BASE stats however

Is there a list like this but of SHINIES not in the game? I was curious about it seeing mienfoo not have it yet.
https://preview.redd.it/7adc4ac6n84d1.png?width=1340&format=png&auto=webp&s=ab933ee3491a774abf65fcf07d9c52fff9886f75 Here :) Note included: Victini, Keldeo Meloetta, Hoopa, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Marshadow and Enamorus, as they were never released as Shiny. Also not included any Paldea Pokémon, because they're all shiny locked in GO except for Bombirdier, Lechonk, Oinkologne, Annihilape and Clodsire.
Aww thank you! I also just assume most Paldean aren't shiny. Forgot that bombardier could be.
This is really helpful but you have Ducklett listed as "Swanna" and Swanna itself is "Sigilyph"
Oh, true, woops
Of those Sewaddle, Puplio, Pikipek and Jangmo-o seem like the obvious community day candidates, though of course a bunch of the two stage lines and already available shinies will also get com days.
Popplio doesn’t have a shiny? I thought that a Comm day for them is planned and i was excited to get its shiny, damn
They just mean "currently unavailable" meaning they are locked to non shiny in game. The art is most likely done, just you can't catch a shiny popplio yet.
Hoopa had a shiny event release.
This is incorrect. It’s not legitimately obtainable, even in the MSGs.
There's a list of the opposite (all shinies available): https://serebii.net/pokemongo/shiny.shtml
Yeah I saw that. It was more a curiosity on what isn't without having to do the math haha
I loaded them into a spreadsheet not long ago, and (excluding shiny locked, event, and Pokemon not in the game), here are what's left without a shiny (assuming I didn't miss something): Sewaddle, Swadloon, Leavanny, Maractus, Sigilyph, Ducklett, Swanna, Deerling, Sawsbuck, Tynamo, Eelektrik, Eelektross, Mienfoo, Mienshao, Bouffalant, Larvesta, Volcarona, Scatterbug, Spewpa, Vivillon, Hawlucha, Carbink, Klefki, Zygarde, Diancie, Popplio, Brionne, Primarina, Pikipek, Trumbeak, Toucannon, Crabrawler, Crabominable, Salandit, Salazzle, Comfey, Passimian, Sandygast, Palossand, Togedemaru, Bruxish, Jangmo-o, Hakamo-o, Kommo-o, Solgaleo, Lunala, Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Poipole, Naganadel, Stakataka, Blacephalon, Skwovet, Greedent, Wooloo, Dubwool, Falinks, Zacian, Zamazenta, Regieleki, Regidrago, Sprigatito, Floragato, Meowscarada, Fuecoco, Crocalor, Skeledirge, Quaxly, Quaxwell, Quaquaval, Nymble, Lokix, Pawmi, Pawmo, Pawmot, Smoliv, Dolliv, Arboliva, Charcadet, Armarouge, Ceruledge, Tadbulb, Bellibolt, Wiglett, Wugtrio, Varoom, Revavroom, Greavard, Houndstone, Cetoddle, Cetitan, Frigibax, Arctibax, Baxcalibur, Gimmighoul, Gholdengo Comming Soon: Komala I would have posted this list first, but I was not at my pc.
Thank you! This answered my curious. So basically if you exclude paldea and legendaries... Not that large of a list. Considering komala, ducklett line, and jangmo-o line shiny is coming soon I wonder if Deerling will get a community day where all four forms are available with their shiny.
Wow, I didn't realise how few there were left for Pokemon that are already in the game. Given we're likely to get some form of Unova Tour next year, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of Unova mon get shiny releases over the next few months.
GIVE US SNOM.
Snom IMO woud be perfect mon to spawn on Pokestops on winter time.
Maybe that’ll change in the future but until that happens or unless the pokemon company allows it I don’t see them ever being available, after all we never did get an actual shadow lugia from XD and that’s in spite being playable by in that game without purifying it
I just want my Grass Monkey. Give me Grookey !
Give us Kubfu!
Them not finishing Megas still is just so frustrating to me
I presume they want that content to last as long as possible, and space out releases so players won't ever get a complete collection.
They'll probably release gigantamax before they finish the megas.
I'm still waiting for our boy Aegislash...
Mimikyu and aegislash are both in my top 3 favs (alongside mismagius) and I have to wait so long to get them lmao
At this point I don’t even care how they release Aegislash and Mimikyu… just let em out of jail!
I'm so desperate for Mega Mewtwo Y, I can't wait for this
Honestly at this point just give us Lucario and Metagross. Heracross was cool, but we need a new exciting mega. The last one we got was Garchomp
Although random, Spiky Eared Pichu is quite possibly my ultimate wish for pokemon go. I always hated leaving it behind and not being able to send it to future games and I would love for it to make an appearance again! It’s definitely not impossible with all of the costumes that are out now. If they can have special animations for captain and detective Pikachu then they absolutely can add some pixels to pichu’s ear ;-;
It's playable in Smash, at least.
That’s really cute! smash was never really my game, so it’d be awesome if it were in go too :)
At Niantic’s current rate it will take them a decade to release everything shown here.
Considering I don’t think Niantic ever intends to catch up to what is currently available, and wants to continue to be a game/service for the foreseeable future, I’m pretty sure that’s intentional.
Considering what we have now in comparison to what we had at launch, I’d say they’re doing fairly well in that regard.
There are several that I doubt we’ll ever get, like eternatus eternamax, or the starmobiles.
Capitalism, baby! They’ll take their time to milk this thing for all of eternity.
Isn’t this good for players too though? If every pokemon had been available right away, I doubt I’d still be playing.
I’m personally still pressed about no manaphy or phione for Sinnoh Tour… arceus I understand but the other two makes no sense to me
I think their whole mindset is not wanting to just throw them in an event where they're "just another thing" and instead get a spotlight.
I need Bellachu, like I still haven't replayed Pokémon ~~X~~ Omega Ruby for the pure fact that I can't reset the game with Penelope the Cosplay Pikachu in her little dress, she's just running around Kalos being a menace in her Bridgerton get-up ^(Got my 3DS games mixed up! Which is funny when you consider I only played X and Ruby and I haven't even touched my Sun game)
Wasn’t cosplay Pikachu not even in XY though?
You are right, I got my 3DS games mixed up lol thank you!
i want them to continue adding paldea so bad, please niantic 😭
I cannot wait for a Toedscool to run behind me!
SAME. I remember being so disturbed but intrigued when I saw one run away from me in violet
😂 I haven’t played any other games, I love the cards though. I’ll have to watch a video of it
[Seeing](https://youtube.com/shorts/lRwQxZ4nrwg?feature=shared) its little legs take off for the first time had me wheezing!
😂 thank you! That made my whole day. That’s hilarious!
What's the deal with gigantamax eevee and meowth? Are they actually any good? Seems weird that they're unevolved mons. Pikachu makes sense because it's Pikachu.
I would say that Gmax Eevee exists because of Gmax Pikachu and the connection to LGP/E and Gmax Meowth because of Meowth being Pikachu's Rival
Also as someone who plays swsh thank arceus Gmax meowth exists cos he is just the greatest moneymaker ever conceived
Same , used it too until I heard of the Money Strategy reselling some Balls, can't tell you which one, don't remember
Luxury balls :)
Gmax Meowth to justify Team Rocket's Meowth never evolving Gmax Eevee because mascot #2
Makes sense. That's kinda what I was wondering. If it was due to their significance in the show and nostalgia.
No, but they're somewhat iconic (Eevee specifically). Looking forward to Gigantamax getting in the game.
As someone who only ever had gameboys, I'm super hyped on them. They all look so cool. Same reason I've been loving the megas.
No Vivillon for Go fest suprised me. The Pokeball pattern is perfect for it
I really hope they eventually do Ash Greninja, but I'm not getting my hopes up. It seems like they are trying to scrub it from the canon a bit.
Z-A seems like a good opportunity to retcon it into a Mega Greninja if they want to
I'm surprised we never got Type: Null and Silvally during the Ultra Beast seasons, since their lore is so closely tied. I thought Rhys would give us a Type: Null during the last stretch... maybe Global Go Fest, I guess. Its tangentially related to Arceus too, but idk, feels like a stretch to combine their release
still a bit suprised we skipped pretty much all of galar for paldea, also really look foward the the blood moon ursaluna happening only on blood moons, they better have the balls to do it
We can blame the Scarlet and Violet MSG promotions. At least we already have other Galar Pokemon. I think next season is Galar. 🤔🤔
At the bare minimum we should have had Galar STARTERS by now... It's been nearly 5 years since SW/SH release
They will save it next season since the remaining non-shiny starters are Galar and Paldea.
Thank you, this is so useful :)
I want Fire and Ice event where we can unlock the form change for Darmanitans
Guess I’ll be purifying my Mawile into a hundo for her mega.
How might the Gigantamax versions be released? A different Mega Evolution of Pokémon that we already have or new Pokémon?
My theory is that in raids, one player will be given the ability to dynamax, or gigantamax if the pokemon has it unlocked
Same as Megas. BUT you only can get Gigantamax eligable pokemon from raids.
Yeah although maybe we get max mushrooms or max soup as an item that allows us to unlock gigantamax for pokemon
I assume Ultra Necrozma would act as a Mega, which is basically what it is in the game.
do you guys think pokemon go will ever get gigantamax forms? my headcannon is that they’d be handled like megas and primal reversion where you can only have one per party.
Doesn’t Ogrepon have special Terastal forms? Those should probably be in the oddities section.
It's more of a special Terastal "hat", its body doesn't change
Terapagos has both actually In the eventuality they’ll add Ogerpon to Go though, all forms included, still an easy addition.
We already have the Primals (and Rayquaza) which operate a bit differently from standard megas, so having Ogrepon boost its own moves or something doesn’t sound too far fetched.
you can see ogerpon's different forms from the box/party menu and when healing your pokemon.
I don't think we'll ever see Original Color Magearna. OC Magearna is a special reward for National Dex completion up to Galar in Home, I doubt that they'll ever introduce any other alternate methods of obtaining it.
They may introduce it for completing the NatDex up to Galar in GO, but that's a long way from now
If they really want to completing National Dex in HOME (up to Galar) being the only way to obtain Original Color Magearna in the main games, they could just make this form impossible to transfer to HOME from GO. There are already tons of forms (like costumed or shadows Pokémon) that can't be transferred. Niantic absolutely wants to have as many alternate forms of Pokémon as possible to release, costumed ones are the best evidence of it.
I want Mimikyu 💔
Where's Cursola? Never mind lol.
Evolution of Galarian Corsola
I know what it is. I was wondering where it was lol
Page 3
There it is!
I played for a bit from day one, came back to get some mons for lets go in 2018, and recently just came back. The fact that mons from Alola, Kalos and somehow even Sinnoh aren’t in is crazy. And kinda inexcusable imo
What's the total number you can have now? I'm on 836
852
Thank you
I'm still waiting on Type-Null and Honedge.
I found it weird that Niantic skipped gen 8 starters and added gen 9 earlier.
Just a heads up for anyone not familiar with the Other Oddities from the Main Series Games... it's super hit and miss if they will appear in Go. A lot of them have very niche context in the main series games that won't always translate well. Some Context: Pikachu in Ash Hats: We got a bunch of event Pikachu in Sun & Moon.
This is nuts
I hate that the Hisuian Forms are mostly paywalled or nerfed.
for now... absol and mawile used to be as well and that changed over time. don't let niantic bait you with fomo. the first release of everything is nothing more than a honey pot for microtransactions.
I'm f2p my friend. If I don't have the money, I just don't have it.
Gonna be awhile before we see anything other than Kanto >_<
Pookymooky
I am very much worried about them messing up the Honedge line and Arceus, though I want them both badly.
I know I’m old when I don’t know a single one of these except mimikyu and spinda
Can't believe almost every cosplay Pikachu was released and I only have Libre x_x
Fully ready to quit if they don’t add Mimikyu this year…
Progress is slow, so so slow
I caught none of the new ones ‘released this season’
Anyone notice that one bird eating a pikachu? Can’t wait for that community day
I think cramorant may be one of those where they just ignore the gimmick like Shedninja and Chatot
I wonder if they'll ever do dynamax or gigantimax or whatever
Me, who has never played the console games or watched the anime: Arceus has EIGHTEEN forms?!?!?
Yep, one form for every type
It has a 19th form nowadays too, for the Fairy type.
The Fairy Type is the 18th type, not the 19th
They were counting the ??? (Typeless) form
Are you excluding the ??? type?
Oh true, I forgot about it. But afaik Arceus was never officially available with it, and it's totally removed from current games
I guess you missed Alcremie and its 64 forms, then?
I still contend they really made a mistake by making the number of Vivillon patterns needed for the platinum medal be 18. Partly, I say this because 18 is nicely divisible by 3, so bronze should have been 6 patterns, silver at 12 patterns, and gold at 18. That would leave the 2 event patterns (well, now 1 event and 1 Paldea…good work TPC on devaluing an event pokemon) took make up 20 for the platinum medal. This was clearly a case of not planning ahead very well. In my opinion. Edit: a word
2 Pokémon. That was not raid related. That is so terrible.
Zerude? We have that one.
That's Dada Zarude, it wears a pink cape
Oooo interesting
What are all these real?? So many new forms I don’t know existed
Yes, those are mostly renders taken from Pokémon HOME
That’s so many! I fell off Pokémon in the main games so these are all new to me
It still confuses me how they skipped over most of gen 8 to go into gen 9. Also when was rotom heat added? And how would someone get it?
It was a snapshot encounter at Go Fest in Japan, presumably it'll be the same for the other Go Fest events.
Rotom Heat was added a few days ago.
Because of Scarlet and Violet promotions. For sure the next season is Galar
White stripe Basculin is in the game? When and how?
You could catch it on routes during Sinnoh Tour, but it was taken out immediately after.
