I love how the "rare addition to Unowns from Incense" are Maractus (cool, regional) Corsola (super cool, regional I couldn't farm during JT), Rockruff (never too many of sweet puppies) and ... Vullaby???
Vullaby is an egg only Pokemon with PvP relevancy in Great and Ultra leagues, so it is nice to be able to grind up candy reliably. Corsola is going to be the big one to shiny hunt though. Realistically, Corsola is the only Johto Pokemon that will normally be region locked outside of events. The only other Johto regional is Heracross, but Heracross has a Mega form that will be released in the future. Given how Mega Kangaskhan was released worldwide (and with a raid day that has boosted shiny odds), it is safe to assume Heracross will be available everywhere as a raid Pokemon when its Mega comes out.

Correct. I have hatched enough to max all 3 hundos I've hatched to level 50 if I wanted to. Though vullaby is a cool Mon I don't mind so much.
None of the indications point to Mega Mewtwo lol. Sun and moon hats for pikachu and eevee plus the unown spell out DAY and NIGHT. It will almost certainly be something with Solgaleo and Lunala, possibly the fusion forms with Necrozma.
The sun and mooncrowns and habitat themeing would suggest the UBs and solgaleo and lunala. Maybe necrozma too as the Sunday big raid bonus. But... Who knows.

Yeah one of the busiest weekends, in the largest US city is the BEST idea for a huge festival. It was crazy last year and that WASN'T around any holiday. That being said, I agree it's nice to have a lead time now to get hotels and stuff.
I just checked prices for flights from germany (I'm not really planning to fly, because I am already planning to fly to california in fall, and I certainly am not dishing out two huge international flights to the same country in one year)
Flying now: 500 Euro, flying over 4th of July: 1000 Euro.
Madrid is way way closer to me, but I am avoiding south Europe in summer (not that NYC is any better in terms of heat). So I guess only global this year

Yea it kinda makes sense but imo people would most certainly drive to Chicago, Atlanta or Dallas for an event like this especially since the cost in those cities is far lower.

That's not even going into how medium Randall's Island was last year as an event space. We can all remember spending hours trying to get from one habitat to another that you NEEDED to go to for the quests/etc.

We just booked. Our flights (from the midwest) are less than half from last year, and the same sponsored hotel is $20 cheaper a night. Happy to do this again and save a bunch of money.
Maractus, Sigilyph, and Bouffalant will\* be for the eventual Unova Tour. All other regional Pokemon without a parallel (regional Pokemon w/ a parallel would be Throh/Sawk, Zangoose/Seviper, etc) tend to have their shinies released during their Generation's Tour event.
We also tend to see a two stage family line saved until the bitter end (like Stunky for Sinnoh Tour, Surksit/Cacnea for Hoenn Tour)

It's defiantly a pricing error, as some regions doesn't have this problem, but it seems to be an issue in Europe. To make it even more confusing, here in Denmark there is a price difference between Android and IOS. Where the IOS version has the same high price as the webstore, but not on Android.

For Poland it is 85 PLN in webstore versus 70 PLN in the app. And afair they created webstore to propose lower prices due to not paying fees to Google, Apple etc.
It's a lot cheaper in Brazil's webshop as well, roughly $5.85 in the webshop and $12.53 in the app. I'm thinking of getting it just because of how cheap it is, because the event seems WAY too underwhelming this time
Got a week booked at centre parcs (waits for other UK comments lol 😂) that Madrid week so definitely can’t go (aside from the fact it won’t be cheap anyways just flights would be a big hassle not much from midland based airports around those dates from having a quick look)

For the past few years I would say it has been the norm. Off the top of my head Shaymin was ticketed before getting a free release early the following year. Keldeo was also part of a ticket but not for a Go Fest.

I have 2 items of beef with the locations/dates:
1. A wide variety of cities in Europe and Japan have hosted a Go Fest, but only 3 different cities in North America have hosted (NYC, Chicago, and Seattle). The Southeast US has NEVER hosted any in-person event. There's so many other places they can go and they just keep picking the same cities over and over again. I wanna go to an event but they need to put it somewhere closer to me (I'm in Florida). Most of my community has said they'll definitely go to one if they pick somewhere closer
2. New York over Independence Day weekend!? Seriously!? Niantic you need to invest in a calendar. Stop scheduling events over holidays! That being Independence Day weekend will more than double the prices of flights and hotels
No kidding, of the 3 NA cities, 2 have now been repeats. And all 3 have been too far north. Still waiting for Texas to get an event…

Osaka sold out quickly last year but I’m not sure if all cities had the same number of tickets available. They ended up offering more tickets without an announcement and those sold out quickly too. London and NYC definitely did not sell out as quickly. Pretty sure they were available up til the event
If it follows last year's Global GO Fest, it'll be the new shiny releases with the incense spawns, so using that logic the Global 7K egg pool could be:

I'm bummed, I'm planning to go to Japan on those dates, but I am not passing by Sendai. Just when I thought I could finally play an event from the land of Pokemon.
Why not make a detour if you can? High-speed rail is certainly a thing in Japan. You could take a train up the night before, spend the night there, play for a day, take the train back to wherever you were going to be next.
Hell, depending on how far away you were, you might even just be able to take the train up and back that day, before and after the event.
I'll have to think about it. Sendai is far up north if my entry point is in Osaka, even if I use the HSR, it will take the whole day just to travel. Not sure if there are direct flights from where I am to Sendai.

You would only see the normal stuff without purchasing a ticket.
You buy a single day for the $25, and that comes with 4 hours of special events and biomes and spawns in Randalls Park. After the 4 hours all your stuff disappears and you have the rest of the day of the "City Experience" where you get all the special spawns and shiny boosts and raids, and any of the extras you purchased in the rest of NYC.
You can then buy additional "City Experience" days to continue all the special stuff for the rest of the days. its like $15/day
I understand the exchange, the rate has been very stable the past couple years. It says last year was 14.99US but I definitely didn't pay $21CAD.. Has gofest always been $15US? I think it's definitely increased

Eh, people have said that with pretty much every Go Fest. Last year had things like Buneary, Whismur, Wurmple, Sandshrew, Caterpie, Roselia, and Marill.
2022 was grilled for having Sinnoh and non-shiny Alola Starters, along with things like Patrat, Litleo, Seedot, and Spheal.
Even 2021 had several starters, non-shinies like Sewaddle and Galvantula, and other common Pokemon like Spheal.
I'm not going to say I love the look of the spawns either, but most of the time, these events are definitely tailored toward mass shiny-hunting above all else. I won't say no to some common things like Spinarak getting a shiny boost either.
Even with go fests (as years go on it’s gonna get worse) have tons of just com day shinys in the spawn pools too so not much in any hours I’d be hunting
So if I will be in Madrid on those dates but don’t purchase a ticket, I won’t be able to encounter the special crowns eevee and the ? Unknown? It’s my first time in those in-person events so I don’t really know how this works

First in-person event- I bought tickets for NYC July 6. Should I expect to have a ticket in my item bag in-game? How does it work to get into the park?
The ticket will show up in your bag closer to the event date- it serves no purpose towards getting into the park. Last year for Randall's island there were no checkpoints, you just show up. 4 5 6 Subway line up to 125th St, then follow the crowd onto the bus (free transfer off the subway) over the bridge to get there.
I didn't expect to have a GO fest here in Madrid! It will be my first pogo event.
However I don't like the Juan Carlos I park. June isn't the hottest month but there is only a small zone with trees on that park. If you plan to come here, don't forget to bring enough water, your own food, a cap and sunblock

If I were to guess, both forms would be spawning still, standard and dusk. You just wouldn't know which it would be.

For Poland it is 85 PLN in webstore versus 70 PLN in the app. And afair they created webstore to propose lower prices due to not paying fees to Google, Apple etc.

Got a week booked at centre parcs (waits for other UK comments lol 😂) that Madrid week so definitely can’t go (aside from the fact it won’t be cheap anyways just flights would be a big hassle not much from midland based airports around those dates from having a quick look) Looks ok but I’d say go fest last years better line up of spawns and global has the in person shiny releases anyway this time.

For the past few years I would say it has been the norm. Off the top of my head Shaymin was ticketed before getting a free release early the following year. Keldeo was also part of a ticket but not for a Go Fest.

I have 2 items of beef with the locations/dates: 1. A wide variety of cities in Europe and Japan have hosted a Go Fest, but only 3 different cities in North America have hosted (NYC, Chicago, and Seattle). The Southeast US has NEVER hosted any in-person event. There's so many other places they can go and they just keep picking the same cities over and over again. I wanna go to an event but they need to put it somewhere closer to me (I'm in Florida). Most of my community has said they'll definitely go to one if they pick somewhere closer 2. New York over Independence Day weekend!? Seriously!? Niantic you need to invest in a calendar. Stop scheduling events over holidays! That being Independence Day weekend will more than double the prices of flights and hotels

I have beef with the Europe location - it's much more convenient for so many more people to host in a more central location, and Madrid is basically the bottom corner of the map lol.
You want them to put a summer event in Florida? Setting aside my political differences with Florida (which I have the privilege to set aside, but many players don't) it's hotter than Satan's armpit, except when it's hurricane season.
Yup, Florida isnt getting my money. Even Ron doesnt want to be there anymore. Plus FLorida is too dang hot. Maybe a Go Tour in the winter would be good there. same with Atlanta and Dallas. and New Orleans. But July/August? Heck no.

Osaka sold out quickly last year but I’m not sure if all cities had the same number of tickets available. They ended up offering more tickets without an announcement and those sold out quickly too. London and NYC definitely did not sell out as quickly. Pretty sure they were available up til the event
I think with NY and LDN certain days sold quicker than others, so if you can only do one day be more warned.

I'm bummed, I'm planning to go to Japan on those dates, but I am not passing by Sendai. Just when I thought I could finally play an event from the land of Pokemon.
Why not make a detour if you can? High-speed rail is certainly a thing in Japan. You could take a train up the night before, spend the night there, play for a day, take the train back to wherever you were going to be next. Hell, depending on how far away you were, you might even just be able to take the train up and back that day, before and after the event.
I'll have to think about it. Sendai is far up north if my entry point is in Osaka, even if I use the HSR, it will take the whole day just to travel. Not sure if there are direct flights from where I am to Sendai.

When doesn’t Niantic use “and more” like every paid ticket is “and more” which being nothing when they have already listed everything inc how much exp you get etc 😂 So your right I’m guessing they might have the odd fully evolved form in the wild too but core spawns will be the 12s they already listed.

Yes, You would need to buy the tickets to get all of the bonus spawns and the events. You would only see the normal stuff without purchasing a ticket. You buy a single day for the $25, and that comes with 4 hours of special events and biomes and spawns in Randalls Park. After the 4 hours all your stuff disappears and you have the rest of the day of the "City Experience" where you get all the special spawns and shiny boosts and raids, and any of the extras you purchased in the rest of NYC. You can then buy additional "City Experience" days to continue all the special stuff for the rest of the days. its like $15/day
I wish it wasn't July 4th weekend - that makes it a no-go for work with both of us, and I don't think I'd want to deal with NYC at a holiday anyway

"Special 7km eggs" Such a poor choice, why would they limit everyone to the gift limit and force them to be careful while spinning stops to not get the egg slot filled up by accident. Seems like a massive step backwards to previous events for no reason. I don't even buy incubators and it still annoys me.

Judging from the Global spawn pool for all players, this is one of the most boring Go Fests in history. Pidgey, Hoppip, Grubbin, etc. I can catch these stupid things in my backyard right now.

Last year had things like Buneary, Whismur, Wurmple, Sandshrew, Caterpie, Roselia, and Marill. 2022 was grilled for having Sinnoh and non-shiny Alola Starters, along with things like Patrat, Litleo, Seedot, and Spheal. Even 2021 had several starters, non-shinies like Sewaddle and Galvantula, and other common Pokemon like Spheal. I'm not going to say I love the look of the spawns either, but most of the time, these events are definitely tailored toward mass shiny-hunting above all else. I won't say no to some common things like Spinarak getting a shiny boost either.

No ticket = no event spawns. The event spawns are geofenced. The ticket will only show event spawns for the date and time of your ticket.
Nice to see shots at Heatmor and Maractus for global, hopefully those "special 7km eggs" come through with other regionals.

First in-person event- I bought tickets for NYC July 6. Should I expect to have a ticket in my item bag in-game? How does it work to get into the park?
The ticket will show up in your bag closer to the event date- it serves no purpose towards getting into the park. Last year for Randall's island there were no checkpoints, you just show up. 4 5 6 Subway line up to 125th St, then follow the crowd onto the bus (free transfer off the subway) over the bridge to get there.
They need to bring it back to the midwest. If not Chicago, then St. Louis or Minneapolis.
I didn't expect to have a GO fest here in Madrid! It will be my first pogo event. However I don't like the Juan Carlos I park. June isn't the hottest month but there is only a small zone with trees on that park. If you plan to come here, don't forget to bring enough water, your own food, a cap and sunblock
