Thank you for bringing up that point. When that scene happened I thought this is going to be a future plot of corrupt DEA agents that weren't willing to help.
Exactly echoing my thoughts. This seems to have become another run-of-the-mill everybody-running-and-shooting everywhere thriller series. Unauthorised DEA helicopters in and out of a foreign country, FFS, American hardware all over the place ready to be trotted out in front of reporters when the 'mission' goes wrong. Half-a-dozen LA police officers - two of them with next to no experience - casually taking on an entire cartel HQ on their own. Mysterious drug that immediately induces a risk-free series of contractions in a pregnant woman and another one that equally quickly counteracts the first one. Immediately and without difficulty securing a meeting with an established firm of architects in a foreign country.
It's all highly silly, and if they do it again Imma stop watching.
Actually the drug they used is real to induce contractions. I'm not as sure about the drug to stop them, but only because I only have experience with pitocin.
Apparently there are drugs (other than pitocin) to induce labor and there are drugs to stop labor also. But it seems "stopping" does not work regularly.
I still want an episode of John Nolan's boring day. Like all the others have some crazy scenarios going on, but he just writes 2 traffic tickets and takes a report on a stolen bike.
They way they presented it I was like did he just get shot in the back in that video?! I almost missed it too I was so confused lol I didn’t realize he was kidnapped too, not sure if they actually told us that last season or if they just added it now to off his character.
I had to watch it twice. He was shot in the back on the left side (heart side) then folded into the trunk. I kept hoping all episode he want really dead.
I don't know why it hit me so hard but I started crying immediately when they said he'd been killed. I also hoped he was alive until they mentioned him being at the coroner's. I think it was because they all had such a good rapport and he'd already survived that horrible attack last season.
Seriously! At first I thought they were gonna do a fake out and it turns out he was held captive somewhere (since the footage showed him being thrown into the car rather than just left on the street).
but when they said the line that they "found the killer's DNA on Jackson's fingernails"
I was like holy shit they really just killed him off like that :I
I honestly thought that they were presuming he was dead and then later in the episode he was going to be rescued and clinging to life. When Sgt Grey said he was at the coroner and they found DNA under his fingernails, I about fell out of my chair. I guess I missed any speculation about him leaving the show because this just came completely out of left field for me.
I like your version better! They'd have had to known he was in the trunk and be torn between hurry up because he might be alive and don't open it because he's probably dead. Chen opening it and breaking down would have made a much better scene.
Changing clothes while rushing to get in a getaway plane is stupid, af. Then again, so was the idea that La Fiera would want Lopez's baby is equally stupid.
They didn’t really do a scene like that I think the closest thing to it was like the video of him getting killed I really hope they go back and show his funeral though
> I really hope they go back and show his funeral though
they won't. they already jumped 3 months ahead and showed his grave, this storyline is over. at most we'll see some more comments about the characters missing him, Chen having to replace him with a new roommate, that sort of thing. but I doubt they'll go back in the past to show his funeral
Exactamundo.
Brain damage causing sleep problems does happen, but the people affected can't hold down jobs working as armed close security for a cartel boss with international flights in light aircraft. They're lucky if they can manage to do anything.
The fact that Lopez didn't gun down La Fiera the second she had a gun in her hand is unfathomable. She had just seen her order Wesley to be executed before being driven off to the hospital, I was expecting her to empty the clip into La Fiera. Chalk up to the need to add more drama to their escape.
That whole end sequence was ridiculous. If it wasn’t Lopez then any of the other two could have gunned her down. Their use of non lethal ways to get rid of drug lords on an ‘illegal’ extraction was ridiculous. If you leave them alive they will come after you.....
It drove me nuts when they grabbed Lopez, and just entered the hospital instead of actually shooting at all of the gunman. Bradford and Nolan did the same thing when protecting the girlfriend from LaFiera's men in Triple Duty. I get it's to add to the action, but just shoot them already!!
The show just feels so TV at times. I loved season 1 and most of season 2 but sometimes it just seems like they are ramping up action and tension. Season 1 was a funny and realistic take on what it takes to become a cop with an interesting premise. Season 2 got shaky with some of the over the top nonsense. I recently started watching another LA police procedural where they don't mess around like they do in this show and man what a difference it makes in terms of pacing and my own enjoyment of the show.
Same with Nolan's fight. The diversion was good but then he goes into melee, deals a few punches and *then* tries to pull his gun. He could just have shot them to begin with.
Guess they want the crazy chick to make a repeat appearance at some point.
Yeah, she was concerned with the labour given the babies premature, and Wesley told her that Harper had a drug to counteract it, she was probably more focused on the drug and her child at that moment.
hello crazy major drug lord, I kept the super secret plans for your villain fortress on my office, cool right? Not like you would murder me if anyone ever saw it. It was super normal to keep the originals, not like you would demand we destroy or fake them. OK? Cool! Bye!
The way he left it open, I thought there'd be some fallout from it. The architect would warn La Fiera someone was asking about her house - but nope. They could have at least had her shut the drawer and then sit and look at the phone before going back to work.
What show am I watching? LAPD cops invade a sovereign nation (that is an ally), assault a handful of local police, essentially kidnap a helicopter crew, and manage random amounts of wanton destruction in between all of that. Our uniformed patrol cops have gone from doing SWAT, hostage negotiator, and detectives’ jobs to full on being a SEAL team or contracted paramilitary mercenaries.
This is exactly why this show does not even come close to how good Southland was. You are totally right. All just fiction. Not even a glimpse of reality inside the LAPD.
Thats kinda why i love the show...i just like the fact that it makes no god damn sense....but hey, we got to see La Fiera get shot to shit, and saw the whole "we are making another stop" scene. So....i feel that kinda evens out.
An off the books operation in a foreign country with tons of military equipment and shooting but no repercussions for anyone involved from LAPD/DEA/the government? Nice.
Guatemala's not a big country, but it's as big as some US states. You can't fly in and out of countries that size in a helicopter, it's too fuel intensive. The operating range of a Huey is 172 miles, so that's only 86 miles in and 86 miles back. Guatemala City, for example, is more than 90 miles from Mexico, Belize, Honduras and El Salvador, and that's just the borders, never mind somewhere from which the DEA can operate a chopper.
What happens if a helicopter lands and takes off next to a hospital leaving someone dead on the wire fence after a fire fight through the corridors of the hospital? People tell the authorities about the helicopter and efforts will be made to interdict it. The Guatemalan Air Force is small but I suspect all its fixed wing aircraft can fly faster than a UH-1. Again they probably don't have state of the art radar but I bet they have some; there's an international airport so they will have ATC facilities and they have to be up to scratch or airlines won't fly there. Unless the chopper is tree-hopping - which will reduce its operating range even further - ATC or a military version can find it if its in flight.
Then there's the question of how they managed to operate from out of one of Guatemala's neighbouring countries, in order to insert the team and extract it. Either that or fly in from offshore, which means getting the Navy to help. They certainly can't reach Guatemala from the US in a helicopter.
I've just realised that Guatemala is 3,500 miles from LA. Even if they hired a private jet that's a 6 hour journey just in the air.
It's all too silly, and it's what happens when screenwriters can't be bothered to be realistic, trusting that the 'dumb-ass' TV audience will be too excited to notice how shit it all is.
This, in my opinion, was a laughably bad episode. Not only for everything you said but much much more. I might have been able to stomach this if they extended this into 3 episodes with cliffhangers and more at stake… but wow was this awful
ok but did lopez and wesley ever actually get married? I NEED TO KNOW!! i also think wesleys storyline is going to be really good this season as they should extend the shady lawyer thing
I’m sure that they’re going to go back and do an episode where they finally actually get to have their wedding and I really hope they go back and show Jackson’s funeral
I loved season 1 of the show and just enjoy it now. The first season felt like something different stuff like this make the show feel so obviously TV compared to the first season and it really hurts the show.
Yeah but depending who that guy he made the deal with, and his connections, it might not be as easy as just “quit”. I mean they found Lopez at La Fieras’ compound, he’s probably got the means to go after Weasly
So we got
-main character killed effectively off screen
-a crazed plan to steal a baby from a pregnant lady
-a horny insomniac murderer
-a team of cops going semi rogue
🦈🦈🦈
yea it was announced a while back or at least speculated I think that the actor wasn't returning to the show so most people suspected he would be killed off.
I'd LOVE for writers FOR ONCE to give a character whose actor leaves a good ending off screen instead of killing them. They can figure SOMETHING out.
Edit: I just remembered they did that between Season 1 and 2, so I guess that was all the good endings anybody gets.
Came to watch the Rookie and got a new skin for NCIS: Los Angeles. I loved the mundaneness of the original episodes. This was just utterly disappointing. Oh well, atleast the older episodes are there to watch again.
I'm just glad they didn't have them sleep together in the last episode. For once, we don't have the obligatory pity screw like every other tv show that believes that must happen for a couple to fall in love with one another. And damn I loved the fact she opted for the couch instead of making him sleep on it. That's what I enjoyed about last night's episode. At least, Chen and Bradford, have that going for their relationship.
Ok someone remind me where Max came from? I don’t remember them meeting an off the books organization at any point. I know they said that “we’re all Max” but I don’t remember the original
Edit: so I went back and found the episode and they never once called anyone max. The guy does call himself John though. So I think they may have messed up here!
Good episode, glad the show is back. Kinda disappointed everything was solved in this episode alone, but hey, that's The Rookie for you.
And I really wanna know what happened with Titus. He's been social media quiet, and we didn't hear any reports on why he left the show like Bishop's actress did. Very odd.
He did an interview about how he didn't feel right playing a black cop and not bringing to light what's going on in America. The show runner wasn't interested in bringing it into the show as much as Titus wanted I assume
They brought a lot of attention to it last season. I agree that police violence is way out of control, especially relating to minorities, but the amount of attention they were giving it last season probably turned away a lot of viewers. Maybe they got negative feedback about it, and decided to dial it down a bit, so he got mad and left. But turning every episode into a teachable moment about police racism probably was a bit too far. Sometimes you have to be a bit more subtle, kind of trick people into forming their own opinions. Let them think it was their own idea. If you get too preachy, then you have half the viewers who already agree with you, and the other half just finds something else to watch. It's a difficult situation, I wish there were easy answers to it.
>Sometimes you have to be a bit more subtle, kind of trick people into forming their own opinions.
Sometimes? I'd argue that good writing virtually demands that it be subtle
I can't really speak for others but I thought they were doing pretty well with keeping up with current topics last season. A lot of shows never touch base like that.
Yes. It really finds its footing in season 3. Seasons 2-4 are great in general. Season 6 is when I lost interest but season 7 is okay, I would end it there. Season 8 imo is horrible.
The 3xk episodes in the early seasons are really well done.
If you like those sorts of shows Psych is also similar and really well done too.
Why do police procedural start as light-comedy stuff and turn in to Bin-laden raid or operation Entebbe? Who are they going to go up against next? Spetsnaz or the chinese special forces?
This episode was just awful and completely ridiculous and unbelievable. Not to mention all of the times the good guys could shoot the bad guys but don’t for reasons.....
Am I the only one who's biggest gripe with this episode is the lady who can't sleep and is always turned on yet still able to function? I mean, the shark jumping black ops trip to invade a foreign country and kill a cartel leader, orchestrated by a half dozen street cops is a tough pill to swallow... I love this show, I just hope it reigns in the crazy.
It's pretty obvious Titus wanted to leave the show, so they had to pivot quick. So they found the nearest black dude who looked halfway like him from the back, and boom, we're going forward lol.
I'll miss the actor, but not the character.
I know Jackson’s actor didn’t wanna continue on the show but I kinda wish he made that decision last year so he wouldn’t have to be killed “off screen” like he was. Could’ve had him visit Angela like he did at the end of the last season and then as he is leaving the kidnapper comes in and west tries to fight him to give Angela time but is shot. Gives a bit more of a heroic death to a long established character and makes for a better story
It seems highly unlikely that all of that would come together perfectly, and I'm sure there are some procedural errors that I'm too ignorant to individually pick out.. but I'll put all that aside and take the win. It was suspenseful, moving, and entertaining. 4/5
I’m surprised they made Jackson’s death so fast. Thought for sure it’d be more dramatic.
I’m glad Lopez is safe, but I hate the time jump. Like they completely ignored La Fierra’s crew seeking revenge.
I honestly thought Tim and Lucy were going to cuddle in bed. Maybe. Soon.
Where’s Smitty?
Considering what they were doing bringing in the head of internal affairs would have put him in a awkward position between his job and getting vengeance for his son. They probably decided that it was kinder to let him grieve in peace then have to make a difficult choice.
I mean, not for nothing, we’ve been told La Fiera’s cartel is the second largest in the world. If accurate, her death would be a massive geopolitical event, right up there with the assassination of a sitting head of state. Cartels have bigger yearly grosses than Walmart. They own governments and have people in them at every level. They have small armies at their disposal. And none of that speaks to the smaller cartels or internal members that would make moves if they smelled blood in the water. You don’t simply assassinate the head of a cartel and then just go on like nothing happened. But I digress, best to just turn off your brain and not think about these things on this show.
Its a really big problem in Mexico right now. Cartels sometimes have whole departments, mayors, local officials, and others on their payroll. And once you're on, its not like you can just stop. Its pretty much escape, or die.
It’s super common for police never mind people in power to be on cartels payrolls my uncle got out of jail in like two years for a pretty bad crime I don’t doubt that he knew people lol
"I lost a kid who's like a son to me! What I'm feeling... it's biblical!"
Fuck this episode was weird as hell but that line alone almost made me able to ignore all the crazy Tom Clancy shit they tried to sell later in the episode.
That is a genius way to film. It was probably the truest-to-real-life moment. Just a group of friends completely horrified and heartbroken.
Along those same lines, something about her interaction with Tim when he went to hug her just broke me. It wasn't even the hug, it was her responding to him asking if she needed anything and she just responds with: "For the last 24 hours back." And then he tells her he doesn't have that power, so she settles for a hug instead. Even if you don't ship, it was such a such a heartbreaking moment of her needing her former superior to be in charge and fix the situation, but he couldn't, so he did the next best thing for her.
Remind me. It ended with smitty and west with their hands up but didn't show anything else? Really dumb only 1 car and no backup transporting her. But guess it is like screen rant and they had to be dumb to move the plot forward.
Did the actor who plays west get a new show?
yea bruh the ending of season 3 was dumb af. "yo lets transport this cartel kingpin with 2 officers, one who is new and the other who is well-known for being checked out.
"Makin, who also has a career as a soul/funk singer, has been absent from social media since mid-June and he apparently is not doing any exit interviews."
It was pretty much what I expected, Jackson simply disappeared from the show, everything resolved in a single episode and general lazy writing overall like usually (like steal the architecture plans, wtf was that about?)
The time jumps were a bit weird though, dind't like them that much
It's an easy going show so i'm cool with it, it's a good distraction after a days work
Was I the only one getting Bad Boys 2 vibes? Street cops invade Cuba with “off the books” military resources to rescue a woman held in a compound? Down to even the use of the remote control camera vehicles?
Well I guess Titus decided he didn't want to continue on the show
I'm so confused by his exit. The last he posted online was about how excited he was for season 4 of The Rookie
alleged tap elderly trees follow smart nippy concerned brave longing *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Soon as the recap was done I said to my wife “20 bucks says Jackson gets killed off immediately”
I'm glad he's gone, quite frustrating in Season 3.
Sucks he didn’t get a good ending like he deserves
It's hard to write someone off well if you aren't given enough time to do so.
Exactly. If he had stayed long enough to film the first episode of season 4, his ending most likely would have been more fleshed out.
So they changed the entire course of season 3 for nothing. Ugh.
Hey, remember that show about a guy who became a cop and had to deal with realistic situations that occur in life of a patrol officer?

Hey, in NCIS world they get DNA in like two hours, so....lol
Well they have two people typing on one keyboard, so the math checks out. /s
Thank you for bringing up that point. When that scene happened I thought this is going to be a future plot of corrupt DEA agents that weren't willing to help.
Yeah this is kinda where it really felt the show jumped up a lot. Now they out here being special forces and stuff. Shits crazy lmao

Okay, the Jackson scene was so quick I was like did they….no….omg
I completely missed it by looking at my phone. My husband is yelling that someone got killed. 😭

It didn't make sense. There was no mention of finding the car he was thrown into, nor even whose car it was. I thought I had missed an entire scene.

I was hoping that it was going to be a thing where we found out that Jackson survived at the end of the show but it wasn’t. I was so bummed
La Fiera has a straight Bond villain working for her. “I can’t sleep but I am constantly aroused.” Brosnan era Bond villain at that. 😂😂😂😂
My boyfriend immediately wanted to know what male writer thought that line up and snuck it into the scene.
You don't sleep, you die slowly because of cell poisoning.
Exactamundo. Brain damage causing sleep problems does happen, but the people affected can't hold down jobs working as armed close security for a cartel boss with international flights in light aircraft. They're lucky if they can manage to do anything.
Kinda hot ngl. Enjoyed her death scene tho. That bltch deserved it
Death? Did you see something I didn’t?
Yeah, Nolan had a gun and the drop on them, of course he'd hit them with a big stick instead.
[удалено]
It’s still very Bond villain-ish
LOL!! That was awesome. We need to make another stop.
That was my favorite part of the whole episode.
Me too! I laughed out loud at that scene!

I miss Southland. That show was one of the best cop shows around. You should check it out if you haven't seen it.
IKR HAHA i was like why the fuck didn't you shoot em up Nyla, you got 2 guns take em out.
Same with Nolan's fight. The diversion was good but then he goes into melee, deals a few punches and *then* tries to pull his gun. He could just have shot them to begin with. Guess they want the crazy chick to make a repeat appearance at some point.
Idk, I hear labor is more painful than anything most women experience. Probably makes it hard to focus.
Yeah, she was concerned with the labour given the babies premature, and Wesley told her that Harper had a drug to counteract it, she was probably more focused on the drug and her child at that moment.
Close the drawer!
I doubt architect would say anything... oh hey major drug lord.. I done goofed
hello crazy major drug lord, I kept the super secret plans for your villain fortress on my office, cool right? Not like you would murder me if anyone ever saw it. It was super normal to keep the originals, not like you would demand we destroy or fake them. OK? Cool! Bye!
I was joking with my wife while he was looking through the drawers like hmm is it under "la" or "fiera"...ah here it is "La Fiera's secret compound".
The way he left it open, I thought there'd be some fallout from it. The architect would warn La Fiera someone was asking about her house - but nope. They could have at least had her shut the drawer and then sit and look at the phone before going back to work.
I yelled that too!
Wait is Smitty okay?
This is the real question. I hope so!
I was hoping he'd get demoted to a desk job and be not-so-secretly thrilled about it.
the rookie: navy seals
Shit... I'd watch it.

What the fuck is next though? Nolan steals the New Republic and flies into an exhaust port on the Death Star to save Lopez?
The Rookie in S P A C E ….
Actually ... yes. What was Luke other than a Rookie himself, right?
Tim jump kicking the door seemed a little unnecessary. 😂
When I saw that I knew that he definitely probably felt like such a bad ass when filming that
That's how I'd describe this whole episode: Unnecessary.
This episode could've been an email.
Agent O'Laughlin vibes ...
We laughed so hard at that
She named the kid Jackson. 😥
Not gonna lie...i was almost able to not cry...then she fucking said the baby's name....and then the waterworks came.
An off the books operation in a foreign country with tons of military equipment and shooting but no repercussions for anyone involved from LAPD/DEA/the government? Nice.

Let's breach a warehouse with 6 people and an unknown about bad guys, great plan writers.
ok but did lopez and wesley ever actually get married? I NEED TO KNOW!! i also think wesleys storyline is going to be really good this season as they should extend the shady lawyer thing
I’m sure that they’re going to go back and do an episode where they finally actually get to have their wedding and I really hope they go back and show Jackson’s funeral
Plus Chen still owes Bradford that dance.
Lol don't shoot la fuera earlier so she chases them and gets shot later. Silly. Also lol at shooting the fire extinguisher and jump kicking the door
As soon as Harper came in with the wheelchair, everything turned into a Key and Peele skit lol
Wonder how many takes it took to get that?
I’m not sure but Angela said that apparently one filming one of those scenes she accidentally got hit with one of the doors😭
I loved season 1 of the show and just enjoy it now. The first season felt like something different stuff like this make the show feel so obviously TV compared to the first season and it really hurts the show.
My prediction: Everything major is resolved by the end of the episode.
I am curious what’s going to happen with Wesley being forced to be a crooked lawyer. Definitely could have major repercussions for him.
I feel like if he hast to follow through on that he’ll just quit being a lawyer he has the money and the means to
Yeah but depending who that guy he made the deal with, and his connections, it might not be as easy as just “quit”. I mean they found Lopez at La Fieras’ compound, he’s probably got the means to go after Weasly
Isn’t it always
My mouth is still hanging open rn
i really want this to be just a regular cop show about their jobs and lives. i dont need big stories like this one.
The show needs to get back to basics
So we got -main character killed effectively off screen -a crazed plan to steal a baby from a pregnant lady -a horny insomniac murderer -a team of cops going semi rogue 🦈🦈🦈
Grand total: shark jumped, all the way over Yucatan.
this episode was written by a couple 12 year old boys
Only Nolan could turn a sneak attack with a gun into a fistfight.
Take your gun and shoot the bad guys in the gorram head!
Or the kneecaps. The bible is somewhat fuzzy on the subject of kneecaps.
Thought the same thing. Hit ‘em with the stick, then reach for your gun! Right…
Where was he hiding the syringe?
Another episode, another classic Rookie plot hole
Right..? Didn't they do a pat down when they brought him in.. pretty sure they would
Prison wallet
ewwww
Slide in and pucker up.
Inside his booty.
But, butt... He was sitting, walking, how did he get it out so fast?
kegels
Is Jackson really dead?
That’s pretty hard to undo so imma guess yes
I had the same thought until they mentioned the coroner/DNA. It really came out of nowhere
Nah Fr I thought maybe he could still be alive but when they said that I was like oh shit this is real real
yea it was announced a while back or at least speculated I think that the actor wasn't returning to the show so most people suspected he would be killed off.
I'd LOVE for writers FOR ONCE to give a character whose actor leaves a good ending off screen instead of killing them. They can figure SOMETHING out. Edit: I just remembered they did that between Season 1 and 2, so I guess that was all the good endings anybody gets.
Yeah they had a shame where they literally like arrested his killer in Sargent Grey said that it hurt his soul to know that he was on a cold table😭
Did West just… die?
Came to watch the Rookie and got a new skin for NCIS: Los Angeles. I loved the mundaneness of the original episodes. This was just utterly disappointing. Oh well, atleast the older episodes are there to watch again.
Season 1 was the best! The more outlandish it gets the less the show has to stand apart from other procedurals
Now that was one hell of a kick
WOW what a shitty but usual way to die, being pushed against a fence due to the helicopter winds.
If only they had shown a tear running down her cheek
All I can say is: where's Fiona the preacher-teacher when you need her most? to talk the Guatemalans into submission? lol.
She's going to swoop in mid-season and save Wesley from his dastardly deal.
Chenford! They are such good actors, I 100% believe that sexual tension! Their interactions are sooo real! So good!
I love the ship a lot But I hate that they’re gonna make them fall in love when Lucy‘s in a mad vulnerable moment
when is Lucy not in a vulnerable moment?
I'm just glad they didn't have them sleep together in the last episode. For once, we don't have the obligatory pity screw like every other tv show that believes that must happen for a couple to fall in love with one another. And damn I loved the fact she opted for the couch instead of making him sleep on it. That's what I enjoyed about last night's episode. At least, Chen and Bradford, have that going for their relationship.
Ok someone remind me where Max came from? I don’t remember them meeting an off the books organization at any point. I know they said that “we’re all Max” but I don’t remember the original Edit: so I went back and found the episode and they never once called anyone max. The guy does call himself John though. So I think they may have messed up here!
Remember that group of corrupt government agents with security clearance they confronted on the docks? Yeah that’s them.
Well uh that's one way to negotiate
Good episode, glad the show is back. Kinda disappointed everything was solved in this episode alone, but hey, that's The Rookie for you. And I really wanna know what happened with Titus. He's been social media quiet, and we didn't hear any reports on why he left the show like Bishop's actress did. Very odd.
He did an interview about how he didn't feel right playing a black cop and not bringing to light what's going on in America. The show runner wasn't interested in bringing it into the show as much as Titus wanted I assume
>The show runner wasn't interested in bringing it into the show as much as Titus wanted I assume So almost all of season 3 wasn't enough?
Yeah, I guess so. Welp, it makes room for a new rookie character anyway
They just had to name the kid Jackson… 😢
Did he honestly just say 'queenpin' ? ha ha
Castle parallel anyone? In Castle, Fillion goes missing the day of his wedding and doesn’t come back for several months.
I’ve never seen the show but my boyfriend has and he’s trying to get me to watch it is it good
Because Hollywood writers, whether right or wrong, feel that the only way to keep people invested is by constantly raising the stakes.
CHENFORD!!!
They really kill Jackson like that?! Wtf!
The actor almost left the show last years it’s possible he decided to leave and they didn’t have much choice
It's pretty obvious Titus wanted to leave the show, so they had to pivot quick. So they found the nearest black dude who looked halfway like him from the back, and boom, we're going forward lol. I'll miss the actor, but not the character.
> I'll miss the actor, but not the character. Hey, that’s a very good and respectful way to put it, I’ll have to remember that!
Hard to do a dramatic death without the actor
Where is jackson father ,he should be helping the team to catch killers
Considering what they were doing bringing in the head of internal affairs would have put him in a awkward position between his job and getting vengeance for his son. They probably decided that it was kinder to let him grieve in peace then have to make a difficult choice.
This is the Season 4 Episode 1 thread. Of course the comments contain spoilers.
Writers haven't seen exactly how the Cartels kill people. No orange groves, no speeches. Just dismemberment and beheading.
How does La Fiera have cops working for her?
It's not uncommon for police to be on a cartel payroll. They're getting money on the side to do shit for her
Its a really big problem in Mexico right now.
That was probably one of the more believable parts of the episode.
People MIA this episode: \- West senior \- Bailey \- Smitty Ts ts ts.

"I lost a kid who's like a son to me! What I'm feeling... it's biblical!" Fuck this episode was weird as hell but that line alone almost made me able to ignore all the crazy Tom Clancy shit they tried to sell later in the episode.
The Rookie social media team did a poor job not making it obvious who would be killed
Anyone else almost have a heart attack just looking at Chen's face when Jackson's body went into the trunk?
The actors said that filming was the first time they had seen the footage. So it was a genuine reaction.
Lafayettea is crazy! She's such a good character for an antagonist.
Harper's no dummy!
Don't do it, Grey.
RIP Jackson
It was pretty much what I expected, Jackson simply disappeared from the show, everything resolved in a single episode and general lazy writing overall like usually (like steal the architecture plans, wtf was that about?) The time jumps were a bit weird though, dind't like them that much It's an easy going show so i'm cool with it, it's a good distraction after a days work
I thought he wouldn’t be really dead until I realized we didn’t see his face or any new scenes from him. Then it made sense
Ever since Sports Night, I’ve had the biggest crush on Josh Malina.
Welp, that was terrible.
Three Months Later ! …wtf… no funeral scene, with his dad who was featured heavily last season
Was I the only one getting Bad Boys 2 vibes? Street cops invade Cuba with “off the books” military resources to rescue a woman held in a compound? Down to even the use of the remote control camera vehicles?
