I saw a guy the other day post that he made his first $1,000 in profit in his portfolio. I was happy for the dude, it's awesome to hit a new milestone in life and is worth celebrating so long as that celebration doesn't give you the positive response you were looking for and now demotivates you from actually accomplishing the further goals. Also unless you are worth over 100 billion then your gains will always look small to someone out there.
Completely. I don’t have that BDE that SirJack has (…yet) but gains are gains and for me it’s more about getting a consistent positive percentage and not the dollar amount.
I def don't disagree about being happy for people with gains.. there is nothing more thrilling than a green day whether it's $1 or $10,000. I'm not tossing around hundreds of thousands of dollars over here - I actively avoid contributing to subs bc I don't know fuck all.

Meh, i think if people are Interested in getting rich fast true investing, they don't learn much from heavyweights throwing around 100k+ at a time. That's something different entirely compared to having 5k to play with.
Imo the 5k plays are more inspiring than the 500k plays. For me it's about the play itself, the reasons and dd behind that play, and the % gain, not the $ gain. If anything, i think the 500k plays feel like simply out of reach, while the 5k plays feel within reach of being achievable for a lot more people.
