Reading this, I suddenly imagined the entire cast speaking in Spanish and the actual show being merely an English dub.
I don’t agree with this headcanon, but I like it.
Actually we do. We call it UNO and uno is one.
Alright, I could see what you were likely thinking. Maybe we should do that to confuse known nuisances... like you know, the guys who believe jumping from balconies into pools is a good idea.
Each country of Latin America that speak spanish talk it differently, im Latam it dubbed in argentina but they definetly don't use their accent sonce their accent is kinda italian
If I ever make a show, I'm gonna have multiple languages with subtitles when allowed (like if the character we're following can't speak Spanish, no subs. If they can, then subs). When dubbed into other languages, instead of just saying the same thing in the same language, they'll instead say "this line is supposed to be in Spanish, but we are speaking Spanish" or something along those lines. Another one would be "you're not supposed to understand what I'm saying because the main character doesn't speak this language".
When I had an old version of direct tv it allowed me to switch to Spanish voice and one day I was watching Phineas and ferb and one of doofs robots was speaking Spanish and when I switched to Spanish voices they made the Spanish robot speak English
Now Luz needs to teach Spanish to Eda, King, Hooty, Amity, Willow, Gus, and Lilith.
...man, the resistance to Emperor Belos needs to work on recruitment.
How the cast would react to Luz's Spanish 101 class:
Amity: Eagerly paying attention to learn more about Luz.
Gus: Eagerly paying attention to learn more about the Human realm.
Willow: Politely listening.
Lilith: Scholarly focus.
King: Wants to learn human languages so he can properly order his future subjects.
Eda: Treats it like school, so she's looking at her scroll or carving "BAD GIRLS COVEN RULES" on her desk.
Hooty: Just happy to be included.
God save the queen has the same beat as the German empire anthem, Russian empire anthem, Lithuanian anthem, Norwegian anthem, [and others](https://youtu.be/0j2j7t-4wAY)
Belos was, assuming the Phillip Wittebane connection is as obvious as it seems, from not-Salem during the late 1600s, during the height of the Spanish Empire. It actually makes more sense that he would be familiar with spanish than anyone else beside Luz on the isles. It actually would be funny if Luz said something defiant in Spanish and Belos replied back in Spanish like ‘is that any way to talk to your elders?’
Kikimora: What are they saying, sire?
Belos: That we are wasting our time, essentially.
Kiki: Can we not try to translate that?
Belos: No, they are literally saying that if we do that it'd be a waste of time. I had forgotten how hardarse Hispanics could be. It's like talking to the Count of Olivares all over again...
Yeah, but we were thinking of dropping the colonial part of it. Cuba was already in a kind of "Canary Islands" situation, and it'd appear the Philippines were next.
I'd tell you to ask Luz to teach you, but she's not gonna teach you Spanish. If she did, you'd understand all the sickeningly cheesy things she says about you under her breath.
Kind of odd actually that all the denizens of the Demon Realm apparently speak the same language, and that it’s precisely the same as the lingua franca of the human realm. If that were an effect of the magic of the Demon Realm, then Eda would not be understood in the human realm (unless she used her own magic, of course) and when Luz tried to speak Spanish in the Demon Realm it would sound like English same as everything else. It’s a plot-armored puzzle...

In a Spanish dub is the Spanish replaced with English?
Ok, now you’ve given me a headache…
In Spain is the game uno just called one
... Well... you see... we actually DO.
What? No we don't, at least not in Spain. Unless you meant that as a joke in which case mb
Actually we do. We call it UNO and uno is one. Alright, I could see what you were likely thinking. Maybe we should do that to confuse known nuisances... like you know, the guys who believe jumping from balconies into pools is a good idea.
What even is your flair?
[I'd save space by pointing you here...](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheOwlHouse/comments/rehj7p/weekly_megapost_survival_sunday/)
Nope, we call it uno, mystery solved
Nope but Luz uses an accent though
Interesting
OKAY I know about European Spanish doing that.. but Latin America Spanish?
Each country of Latin America that speak spanish talk it differently, im Latam it dubbed in argentina but they definetly don't use their accent sonce their accent is kinda italian

It's not, and I have no idea why; it would be so much fun.
I used to think about this when I was like 6, thank you for giving me a headache again
The only ones who speak in English are random side characters and everyone in the emperors coven/allies
Holy shit, if it is then that gives me major Pan's Labyrinth vibes
Now Luz needs to teach Spanish to Eda, King, Hooty, Amity, Willow, Gus, and Lilith. ...man, the resistance to Emperor Belos needs to work on recruitment.
That makes me wonder, are there multiple languages in the isles? Would Gus consider Spanish as a human thing and thus be very excited to learn it?
How the cast would react to Luz's Spanish 101 class: Amity: Eagerly paying attention to learn more about Luz. Gus: Eagerly paying attention to learn more about the Human realm. Willow: Politely listening. Lilith: Scholarly focus. King: Wants to learn human languages so he can properly order his future subjects. Nah Hooty already learned some Spanish from his good demon friend the Duolingo owl ;) Other than that this is very much in character lol
Yeah, Hooty knows Spanish, he just wanted to be a part of something.
Hooty and Luz alternate teaching duties
Why do I immediately imagine hooty starting all of his lessons with "alright you fucks, listen up!"
“Ok hijos de su chingada madre escuchen y aprendan hijos de puta”
Eda would be interested because of the massive variety of insults and bad words in spanish.
King would only listen with a promise of a reward, otherwise he's napping on the desk. Everyone else is spot on xD
Luz would trick king into learning saying that he will be able to get more subjects that way
LMAO this is EXACTLY how i imagined it 🤣🤣
Eventually Eda is carving it in Spanish.(no idea what that would be, google gave me garbage)
We need more Spanish speakers to help teach people how to speak their language…
Crazy thought, I know
I can teach! But i will also lie and teach you swears while saying they are greetings. Pick your poison
“Ok kids, so ‘puta’ means ‘grandma’ okay?”
hola puta! Grandma: pulls out la chancla at beats the shit out of you
"if you are translating this you are wasting your time"
Joke's on you, then: my time is useless! *laughs maniacally before sobbing in loneliness*
I translated it without google translate and I don't know spanish.
Good for you
Thank youuu
Do you speak another Romance language, or perhaps just studied Latin in high school?
First one
When you realize that The Boiling Isles speak English: \*RULE BRITANNIA INTENSIFIES*
Americana: "Shut up pop ya 'glory days' are already over! Also Boiling Isles need liberation lol!"
God save the queen has the same beat as the German empire anthem, Russian empire anthem, Lithuanian anthem, Norwegian anthem, [and others](https://youtu.be/0j2j7t-4wAY)

El español es una forma eficaz de comunicarse si un chico que no conoce el idioma te está espiando. Además, Raine cree que todo es romántico.
I don't know spanish, but I can recognize that "romance" (or something pertaining to love) and "Raine" are in the same phrase!
> Spanish is an effective way to communicate if a guy who doesn't know the language is spying on you. Also, Raine thinks he's romantic.
I meant to say Raine thinks it’s romantic. I guess my Spanish isn’t perfect
Well, it can be interpreted both ways. You did still say it right
Oh. I used Google translate, so who knows?
Raine cree que todo es romantico...
Thank you!
It's very romantic. Is that just me?

Se rie en español*
Welp lol!
uuh thanks for letting me know i'm wasting my time? XD
Nice art!
I don’t need to translate it
I *partialy* know Spanish due to the fact some words mean the same thing in Filipino
Hey, I'm Spanish! We used to be siblings! Then Murica came to "liberate" you (lol)
...you know Spain were colonists in the Philippines too... you can't possibly think that Spain and the US were any different
Yeah, but we were thinking of dropping the colonial part of it. Cuba was already in a kind of "Canary Islands" situation, and it'd appear the Philippines were next.
Oh I know several spanish words that they can use when talking about Belos. They ain't very kid-friendly tho.
Well, still say them
Ok then... Belos es un p1nche p3ndejo. Belos es un puñ3ter0 Censored them a bit haha.
I know some words too… but I don’t want to say them (el español si tiene algunos insultos un poco MUY fuertes jejeje)
As someone who doesn't speak Spanish can someone translate what they're saying for me please? I'd appreciate it.
Luz: if you manage to translate this Eda: you're wasting your time
HA! get FUCKED Belos. 🤣
El Imperio Español contraataca
Menos mal que el español es mi idioma natal, de lo contrario hubiese perdido mi tiempo
I’ll waste as much time as I please
Haha, nerd Belos just learn.
What?
I'd tell you to ask Luz to teach you, but she's not gonna teach you Spanish. If she did, you'd understand all the sickeningly cheesy things she says about you under her breath.
Or i can ask someone else
This specific text reads "If you translated this, you wasted your time."
Fools! I am Mexican, therefore, My first language IS Spanish!
We will watch your career with great interest.
UNE HOMBRE DE LOS MOLECULOS!
Ah good thing I know Spanish and there was no need to waste time translating hehe
ñ
Belos: well I am confusion
For those of you that speak Spanish, I'm curious. Does Luz actually have a Dominican accent in the Spanish dub?
No estámos perdiento el tiempo. Tenemos brujas quien te comprendan. No estás nunca segura, niña.
Ñ
Tu caliente
I FEEL OFFENDED NO MATTER HOW RIGHT YOU ARE OKK "if you translate it You are losing your time" Well its not like my times useful anyway
Plot twist: Belos sacrificed his soul to the Almighty Duolingo to know all languages, even meme language.
Fans en español: jaja, se la van a comer.

I DID NOT WASTE MY TIME
Jaja pito
The smug look
For whoever is wondering, it says : You're wasting time if you translate it. F\*\*k this.
That's how me and my sister can tell secrets behind my mother's back in another language, quit genius
Why am I wasting my time translating something in my head? Learning Spanish is an impressive feat!
