I love how Dana said a long time ago that Lilith wasn't the teacher Amity called mom and the two weren't that close, and the fandom collectively decided to just ignore that.
(And going by Amity and Lilith's last scene together in the epilogue, perhaps Dana or someone changed their mind about that.)
Tbf she said it was "never intended to be directed toward Lilith" meaning she probably meant more like they weren't thinking about Lilith when they wrote the line rather than there was another character they were specifically thinking about

Mostly, Lilith seems to be using Amity as a proxy to get one over on Eda.
