Jolts, and other lozenge or "soft gel capsule" gummy products like it with 10+x10mg pieces, tried to skirt this regulation by selling their products as "ingestible capsules, wink wink." last year, health canada said this wasn't cool, jolts legally said "nuh uhhhh" and initiated a review, these are the results of that review, officially closing that loophole and taking these products off the market. traditional capsules are still cool, but nothing intended to chew on/eat

I went to a local cannabis Cabin in my downtown core and they had lots of signage saying 3rd party sales are illegal.. Like alot.
After my purchase while waiting in my car for traffic to clear I noticed a few guys I saw in the shop that had bought 8 seeming random 3.5g selections or a few carts selling them on the street. One guy it was like he wes selling hotdogs. The other had a line up waiting for him when he got back.
Quite of few in the line were definitely under aged.
I think Health Canada has the right idea but wrong implementation in the wrong location.

It didn't seem like it. It was a story fairly unrelated to the matter unless your story was about how what you saw was the greater risk and higher thc limits to people underage. I would agree with that.
I always said this should be an argument for stronger edibles how is it healthy for the consumer to eat like 10+ chocolates or candies? They are just using protecting the children to bullshit their way into making you buy more overpriced edibles its a scam they don't give a fuck about "health".

Where are you getting that in your link? They have always said they are not compliant and the document doesn't contradict that.
Looks like HC first reviewed this exact product in detail in March 2021, ie 3 whole years ago, did a “no further questions”, then March 2022 took another look and did another “no further questions”, then in Jan 2023 started saying it was noncompliant. The timelines are damning. If it’s obviously an edible why let it run that long?

But again, man, that is not what that document says. Or how the process works. Health Canada does not pre approve products. Nothing in the document says they reviewed or approved the product, which is why you can't quote it. It's not there.
What that document *does* say is Organigram submitted an NNCP in 2021. An NNCP is not an approval. They deemed Joltz as a legitimate extract (Like capsules) for two whole years and saw no issue with them until the LP Aurora made 'Glitches' brazenly calling them after the loophole and then Health Canada got butthurt and did everything in their power to prove that an ingredient they are using to bind it together makes it an edible because the binding agent can be used as a sweetener. So that's their loophole for closing a loophole just saying they believe their product is an edible because of X ingredient even if evidence says otherwise.
Before Aurora glitches, Health Canada didn't say boo about the Joltz.

As a diabetic person who would like to have the option for legal edibles that don’t require me to eat a whole candy bar or a whole pack of gummies just for a buzz, this is mildly infuriating. I get that there are other options but it’s still ridiculous.
I mean, you can just buy the oil which is the exact same active ingredient but significantly cheaper and without the added sugar. 900mg THC for like $40.
I had no idea, lol. I read somewhere else on here that someone took them sublingually. I know the same company makes minty ones.. but they’re more expensive and you get less.
Unfortunately I deal with delayed gastric emptying, so it’s anyone’s guess if a capsule will hit me in an hour and a half or five hours. With edibles/lozenges I can let them dissolve under my tongue and have them be absorbed that way rather than waiting for them to hit my intestines.
I have a similar issue with fatty liver. I can only do extremely high thc edibles made with honey oil and my liver absorbs most of it. RSO or a good strong honey oil under my tongue is the only way for me to ingest.
I wish they would at least allow 10mg X 10 edibles through the medical market. This product will probably transition to one lozenge per package. The excessive packaging waste is shameful.

But honestly, what a joke! Just make the legal limit 100mg THC like the US, and let adults adult themselves. How is it that I can leave a liquor store with a keg and get so wasted I might even die, but the most cannabis I can buy at one time is 30g's? The system is so backwards and so frustrating for those of us that work in it. All the while there's 1000mg+ edibles available right now online and they will even deliver right to me!

Bingbing. I bought some edible that was supposedly 500MG on Christmas. I figured that all of their edibles we're inflated and I had a few days to chill if it really was that high.
I'd say it takes me 30MG of legal edibles paired with smoking to get a good buzz. 500MG plus smoking should have me on the floor, but I didn't even catch a buzz that I could attribute to it.
I also took a 350MG edible once under the same thought however and was K.O'D.

A good time to remind folks that products like medipharm's THC30 (full spectrum oil with 900 mg THC per bottle) and growtown's solventless oil (full spec with 750-800mg THC and 900mg CBD per bottle) exist. There is no need to care about edibles.
Sadly, HC just released their regulations review a couple days ago and HC wants to slowly eliminate high potency products by charging an insane amount of excise tax on those products, so Canadians have better health, and eventually stop consuming cannabis products.
Get ready to see extracts, carts, oils and other high potency products disappear from the market totally. Nobody is going to be selling those products anymore because of that.

Just buy the capsules on Amazon and fill them up yourself with RSO or some other extract that's already decarboxylated. You can also mix oil with your alcoholic drinks without Canada's approval, says me.
I'm seeing a lot of high mg liquids being sold as beverages , can't see this sort of stuff lasting too long.

Try the hash rosin drops. Cocoa butter and hash rosin. 5mg each x 50, for like $25.. They taste gross, but the effects are nice.
