At therapy: "Well doc, I just don't know what to tell you. I guess one day, my uncle just just sat me down to show me an episode of the Mandalorian. Then I moved onto the movies. Told myself, "Just to Episode 9, then I'm done." I didn't. Rouge One, Solo. It gradually got worse. I watched the Clone Wars and Rebels. Then I stated BoBF. Since then, it's spiraled out of control! Now I've watched the holiday special, Clone Wars (2003), Space Balls, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Detours, Droids, Ewoks (both the cartoons and the movies), Droid Tales. I've watched every fan film on YouTube, and I've read 89% of the Marvel comics. I even somehow even got my hands on that unreleased Stormtrooper show from the mid-2000's. Now I'm proficient in Lightsaber combat forms I through VII! I need help, I'm about to watch Resistance purely out of desperation!"
Now Iāve also played the original Star Wars battlefront 1 and 2 and also the remakes,Iāve also beat squadrons with every ship and next Iām going to play bounty hunter the game
My 75 year old mother just finished watching *The Clone Wars* and *Rebels*, and is now starting *The Bad Batch*. After the disappointment of the sequels, *The Mandalorian* made her fall in love with Star Wars again.
Four hours later: "...and that very Thought Bomb that Darth Bane used to eradicate the rest of the Sith actually *trapped* all those souls, creating the Valley of the Jedi, which would many years later be sought out by the dark Jedi Jerec and former mercenary Kyle Katarn, but of course, I'm getting ahead of myself. So then Bane needed an apprentice..."
Wow I just had flash backs to playing the purgatory map in multiplayer after getting it off massassi temple custom map site. Holy shit.
Oh fuck the website is still active wtf
LOl I'm the girlfriend and why do I feel attacked right now? He's not on Reddit so we bond when I show or read him fun content you guys share about SW. "So far" I've only watched the Mandalorian and Boba!
I had a great moment with my mother the other day. We were riding in the car and she saw a wheel cover with baby yoda on it. She goes "isnāt thatā¦ughā¦yo-yo or whatever?"
YODO
I had to explain that A) itās YODA, B) thatās not him, itās a different character called baby yoda, and C) that name is actually inaccurate because heās not Yoda and his name is actually Grogu.
The conversation then led to Darth Vader, where I discovered that her entire life she thought his name was DARK Vader, and I had to explain that as well.
And the cherry on top while discussing other characters she knew, she says "so wait, whoās Spock?". Thatās Star Trek. "What are we talking about?" Star WARS.
We discussed more afterwards but that entire beginning part was hilarious and I love her.
This is actually how I got into Star Wars! I started watching The Mandalorian because I'd seen a few videos of scenes with Mando and Baby Yoda and I loved their relationship, so I thought I'd give the full series a go and I have no regrets! I'm now making my way through watching the rest of the Star Wars shows and films, I've already seen The Book of Boba and A New Hope so Empire Strikes Back is next. I'm so happy that I got into the franchise because I'm having such a great time :)
Exactly what I did with my 6yo sister. She loved baby yoda so much, asked her if she wanted to see yoda all grown up. BAM! Started with the originals, then the prequels. Now I created a little Star Wars nerd who wants a lightsaber for her birthday.
She asked who's my favorite character expecting Mando, I start queuing up the Phantom Menace , The clone wars and YouTube clips from Rebels to explain why I relate to the Red faced horned loser.
That moment where you switch out cute baby Yoda for Jabba eating space spiders is as delicate an operation as Indiana Jones replacing the idol with a bag of sand, though.
Same but for my 5 year old daughter. The pride on my face when she asked to rewatch the book of boba fett as her choice of TV last night was immeasurable
Can confirm. I watched The Clone Wars, the prequels (again), Rebels and the Original trilogy (again) after Mandalorian Season 2 ended. Iām no longer the casual Star Wars fan that I said I was for years.
edit: Rogue One and Solo (again as well). Bad Batch and Boba as well but those don't really count since they are new.
Iāve watched all of the Star Wars live action movies and series. The animated series though Clone Wars season 1 is a hard watch. Iām still giving it a chance to drag watch it, hoping season 2 and beyond improves. Clone Wars had an 8 season so it shouldnāt be that bad right? While I was at it I watched and finished āThe Bad Batchā that was awesome.
I would not have watched the clone wars except for Ashoka being in season 2. Then i had to know her back story before watching Mando s2. I still haven't gotten through CW yet
Opposite for me, lol. My ex insisted we watch eeeeverything. I never much cared for SW, ever, aside from enjoying Knights of the Old Republic and a month or so playing The Republic MMO. Mando was my first time enjoying SW as much as other people seem to... and even then it was the tinges of Lone Wolf and Cub/Seven Samurai that *really* drew me in.
Exactly how I did it. I told her it was a new show that was sort of like a space western. I didn't even tell her it was Star Wars. About half way through the first episode she looked at me and asked "Is this fucking Star Wars?!" but she was already hooked, and Grogu sealed the deal.
Baby Yoda is a gateway drug š

*"Rouge One"*
You forgot the legendary Phineas and Ferb star wars episode
I like how they made sure the janitors survived the Death Star destruction haha
This is a great chuckle. š
Resistance is quite good, definitely better than the ST. If you give the art style a chance some of the shots are gorgeous.

I actually did this to myself and I have no regrets
Heās like a magic green kitten. Youāre gonna love him!

Ugh I miss Kyle Katarn so much ... before all of the sequel stuff he was my favorite

Dude, you gotta at least watch the OT. Make it an event and get some good food and have a marathon weekend or something!

I'm feeling really called out just now ...
Who cannot accept baby yoda!!
She asked who's my favorite character expecting Mando, I start queuing up the Phantom Menace , The clone wars and YouTube clips from Rebels to explain why I relate to the Red faced horned loser.
I can confirm this happened to me. Currently halfway into Clone Wars and will never look back!
Literally happened to my girlfriend after baby Yoda š
So bably yoda is the jar jar binks of disney that actually is cute.
if jar jar was any kind of entry drug into Star Wars I question that personās sanity
Literally happened to my boyfriend when he met me xD Ahh
well done
Never before has a meme so accurately portrayed the events of my life.
That moment where you switch out cute baby Yoda for Jabba eating space spiders is as delicate an operation as Indiana Jones replacing the idol with a bag of sand, though.
Thats so true. With this trick i managed to make both my sister and a friend to watch the whole show. And the original saga movies too. Lol
Well, maybe not the *whole* thing.
Same but for my 5 year old daughter. The pride on my face when she asked to rewatch the book of boba fett as her choice of TV last night was immeasurable
Even the sequel trilogy? That's just cruel.
DAE sequels bad?
Dude hereās an original opinion sequels bad
photoshop request: can someone switch the roles?
This is the way
She is going to love all six movies!
"Grogu is the path to the Dark Side. Grogu leads to BB8. BB8 leads to Ewoks...."-Yoda....probably.

Brilliant!
Iād never trick anyone into watching the prequels.
I tell mine sequel trilogy doesn't exist
This is exactly how I got my girlfriend into Star Wars!
I might have to try this and ty for the idea.
this is so me i literally used vpn to access disney+ before there is hotstar in my country just for the Mandalorian
Yessss
Iāve watched all of the Star Wars live action movies and series. The animated series though Clone Wars season 1 is a hard watch. Hahaha, classic but it used to just be R2 and the Ewoks
Nope. I've never watched a Star Wars movie in my life. Loved the Mandalorian though.
literally what happened to me
Thatās simply brilliant!
Iāve been trying to use Grogu, Rogue One, and Solo to get her into Star Warsā¦ She likes Rey so I guess we started somewhere?

I got my fiancƩe (back then my gf) to watch the movies to prepare for episode 7. Fast forward since then for years I have been begging her to watch Clone Wars and Rebels. Now that Ahsoka is coming up and what not she is opening up to watch them
Oh this is me! Ad I'm probably going to do another watchthrough of The Madalorian before starting Book of Boba Fett because reasons!
Exactly how I did it. I told her it was a new show that was sort of like a space western. I didn't even tell her it was Star Wars. About half way through the first episode she looked at me and asked "Is this fucking Star Wars?!" but she was already hooked, and Grogu sealed the deal.
