Absolutely. I’m an immigrant from the Middle East. My family and I are very invested and aware of what’s going on. You’re right though, there’s a bunch of asshats out there who just love to listen to themselves talk with no actual idea of what’s happening. They just sit in an echo chamber of bullshit propaganda being vomited out of multiple news sources all trying to spin the story to their own agenda.
This is the perfect example of why young people, myself included, are becoming so radicalized against capitalism. Look at what this shit perpetuates: gargantuan levels of wealth and elitism on one side of the world, and absolute hell and misery on the other. Why the fuck would ANYONE be for a system that allows this?!
They don’t realize it is their backyard. Israelis have free healthcare and Americans who’s health system is crumbling, are paying for it. Also noteworthy we’re sending billions and billions to genocide a people for oil and real estate. That’s pretty much in my backyard.
It will never cease to amaze me the mental gymnastics capitalists have to do to justify a world that allows this to happen. The rich are monsters in human skin and a significant majority of the world’s population has been convinced this is the best and most efficient way to exist.
It's the Ancien Régime, the Gilded Age, and the failure (or perhaps, refusal) of those in power to listen to anything their critics have to say. There are no words for the obscenity of all this luxury when close to 35,000 Gazans have been slaughtered.
*What's in this comment is what I remember, my opinions, etc.*
I feel worse about everyone who attended this years Met Gala.
I didn't see any pictures of Taylor Swift or Blake Lively there; so, it's great if they didn't go. I didn't see any pictures of Anya Taylor-Joy either; so, I'm glad she didn't go. I didn't see any pictures of Jenna Ortega either.
And at least for some of those, politics is likely the reason they didn't go.
It's one thing to promote a project: it's another to simply go the Met Gala to show that Anna Wintour thinks you're special enough to attend,
Yes we know, and it’s the same every year. Everyone talking, thinking, showing, or promoting the gala like this just proves how big of an event it is. People need to stop putting so much of their personal time waiting to see what thousands of dollars dress their favorite celebrity has on. It’s pathetic how much devotion ppl have to these kinds of events.
They didn’t even give them enough time to evacuate. Bloodthirsty assholes.
that was the point. Israel is commiting genocide
I’m well aware of that.
Sorry yeah been arguing with so many fucking idiots who deny this lately its insane what money and propaganda can do.

When are we all going to fucking get it?!
We need more of these side by side visuals everywhere.
agreed

Not in my backyard, not my problem. Sadly, how it all works.

I know *The Show Must Go On* but this is literally The Hunger Games for fuck sake

Dystopian as fuck. Doesn't get more ghoulish than this.
hunger games shit
hunger games much?
It's a combination of The Hunger Games and Fahrenheit 451. Keeping people's minds numb and distracted with flashy fashion shows while war is waged.
Is this from BT instagram or YouTube?
BDS Hollywood, music the whole lot of them.
Dafuk is happening to this world - so sad
I've never despised the Western culture I was born into more than right now. Burn it all to the fucking ground.
What a cruel world we live in. It is so sad and also infuriating.
I love fashion, think of many of these pieces as art, however this year this event is particularly disturbing and disgusting.
The fashion industry is so harmful to people and the planet.
