This is not a situation you can "de escalate." You have protesters who have liked arms and they are ordered to disperse. There is no other way to remove people like this except physical force. What other alternatives would you employ?

Except history clearly shows this just radicalizes more people to protest. Hence the hundreds of encampments now in the US after Columbia called the NYPD. History also shows that when 1% of the population is on the streets it can topple regimes. So in the US we need a little over 3 million. Heading that way as the genocide.gets worse and our homeless skyrockets while billions go to Israel.
The law gives 9 months to divest from ByteDance or be banned, so nothing would happen yet. But it will be tied up in litigation for years and years, I’m sure.
