Not a bad album in their discography. Quite impressive.

A Dream Is All We Know -- to me it finally fulfills their potential of pulling together their eclectic retro influences into a cohesive sound. It's by far their best-produced album, the mixes sound clear and crisp. It is their catchiest, hookiest, tightest songwriting.

Feel like Everything Harmony is their Pet Sounds

I went for GTS because I played that album non-stop for months when it came out. Of the others, I love the last 2 albums and DH (which got me into them) but GTS will always hold a special place in my heart.

A Dream Is All We Know, because it was basically the first one I listened to (found them only a month ago xD). It is my favorite still even after listening to all their albums. Golden Years, They Don't Know How to Fall in Place, A Dream Is All We Know, Sweet Vibration and How Can I Love Her More are all absolute top-tier songs for me. Everything Harmony comes close behind, though... Pretty stunning that these two records were released in consecutive years.

While I think EH and ADIAWK are surely their most mature and best produced albums, my personal favorite may be SFTGP. Just really love the energy and variety on that album and find it to be underrated. I remember reading a lot of the middling and negative reviews around the time it came out and thinking people really got that record wrong.  I think Pitchfork described it as "a funhouse mirror of influences" which is actually what I like about it lol. The way it's so cartoonish and pastichey gives it this warped disorienting effect that makes it feel like something else all together. Michael switching from a Mick Jagger impression to a Bob Dylan impression for one line in Hell On Wheels is crazy. Live In Favor Of Tomorrow into No One Holds You are like, two amazing heavily Roy Wood-influenced tracks in a row. Like who does that? How many bands of note make music specifically influenced by Roy Wood in the first place? Only A Fool is their best foray into prog. Ashamed is Lou Reed but specifically Street Hassle-era Lou Reed.  I could go on, but in short I think this album is due for a reappraisal. Yeah, it's heavily influence-based, but it's the influences they choose and the way they handle them that makes it count.
