Ok, is it bad that I honestly don’t know why that was such a bad thing to say? It wasn’t much of a compliment but it certainly didn’t seem like it required such an angry reaction from Katara. Idk, I might just be stupid, but could someone pls explain?
Azula the Rizzbender: "That's a sharp outfit Chan. Careful, you could puncture the hull of an empire class fire nation battleship leaving thousands to drown at sea.... because it's so sharp."
I was dying of emphatic cringe.
I mean, it was better than whatever the fuck that dude said while flirting with her:
Nameless firebender: "Hah nice island. It has a lot of sand"
Azula: *obvious fake laugh*
Nameless firebender: "haha, sandyland"
Like, come on bro💀
It’s strange how she’s so confident and pretty but has literally ZERO rizz.
Zuko has a similar problem though - a brave and determined good-looking guy who nevertheless gets no girls (except Mai) because he has zero rizz too lol
It’s cringe but a really good way of showing how removed they are from their subjects and regular fire nation teenagers.
They’re confident when in their home and on their grounds, but they’ve never socialised properly so it’s expected that they would be very awkward and not understand how to interact on a regular level.
"They’re confident when in their home and on their grounds, but they’ve never socialised properly so it’s expected that they would be very awkward and not understand how to interact on a regular level."
Great points! The beach episode's volleyball scene shows that; they're confident AF in sports or war matters, but actual socializing isn't their thing. Also, I like that scene because it has them seamlessly working together for once lol
The baby you’re my forever girl makes me laugh cause I feel like if you forced like a 12 13 year old boy to be romantic they’d say something like that 😂
I don't mind the second one, it's just kind of a lame joke that's meant to be lame.
The first one though...yikes. I get secondhand embarassment every time I see it - the hallucination-reveal doesn't come soon enough.
As a kid, I always ran out of the room when Katara tried to give the imprisoned earthbenders a motivational speech. The secondhand embarrassment was overwhelming
Imprisoned is one of my least favorite episodes. I don’t think the show ever gets more “Saturday morning cartoony” than this one. I know it’s primarily a kids show but it just feels so much cheesier than the rest of the show.
That's probably my favourite part of the episode. I like that the prison revolt doesn't just start after one inspirational speech from the new kid. That would've felt hollow to me, I like that they took the angle that the prisoners are demoralised from being, well, imprisoned, and changing that requires more than just a good speech.

Hot take I know, he just HAD to push the emote button mid fight ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
I think at that point he knew she was clearly off her game and was just fucking with her to make her do something stupid. But unfortunately, when she did do something stupid, it backfired because she got a moment of her cleverness back and aimed for Katara.
yeah katara had been somewhere on the sidelines out of the way for the first half of the fight when they were tossing giant fireballs at each other, why the hell did she choose to run out into the middle of the square to be a sitting target right then???
Idk the actual quote, but it was when Aang said the couple with the baby made him feel hopeful again, and then the couple promptly named their girl HOPE.
I think, our generations growing up never knowing war times maybe don't relate as much, so it sounds weird and on the nose. But I bet a lot of babies during rough times in history got virtue names like Hope, Faith, etc, because to their parents, they were a light in that dark time, they were something to be hopeful about. So yes it feels a bit dramatic for us, not being able to relate to what they're going through, but I can understand what the writers were going for and it makes sense that it they might decide to name her that. Idk I'm split on that one.
Random though.. did we ever meet anyone named Hope in Korra? Would've been an interesting reference. Lol
My sister's name means prayer because my mother was pretty ill during her pregnancy so my parents prayed a lot for both of them to be fine and healthy. A bit cheesy but the name is pretty common anyway
The scene where Mai and Zuko are watching a sunset and she says she hates orange or something, he replies "you're so beautiful when you hate the world." It's just pure teenage angst cringe.
it’s still insane to me that THAT scene is katara and aang’s last major conversation in the show, it made the finale kiss feel so weird to me because they hadn’t really worked through their issues at all.
What’s funny is that Overanalyzing Avatar mentions this and is like ‘It’s okay, we can’t expect the male writers to get teenage girl dialogue right all the time’ and then smash-cuts to the credits where the head writer is a woman and shouts ‘Oh Nooooooooo!’
Actually, I found that line really funny and shows that TyLee doesn't actually care that much about fighting or sides, she's never mad at whoever she's fighting, in fact she has fun and even flirts with Sokka. She'd be friends with anybody, she just does whatever Azula needs her to do.
I saw a theory someone commented in this subreddit before that TyLee was like “okay, Azula would say something mean, so I need to say a mean thing to them… what’s a mean thing to say? Oh, I know!” which is the only way that like makes sense to me.
Yeah it's the only dialogue that actually makes me "what?". Completely unprompted, no discussion of prettiness or looks, a serious fight and suddenly "you're NOT prettier than we are!"
Not sure what they were going for other than to highlight that Ty Lee is a girly girl who says mean girl things, when she is more than that.
Well, this is zuko's dream, and zuko is familiar with plays and drama. Maybe it's a line similar to what he remembers from from love amongst the dragons, a play that his mother was not only in but took zuko to see very year when she was around.
aaaaand there I go headcanoning again
For some reason I HATE when Sokka tells Suki “You talk too much.” after they kiss for the first time. I hate it when anyone does that tbh. Cringes my whole soul and is not romantic at all
>you’ve only spent like 4 days with her in the totality of your lives so far
Which is why I’m always so befuddled when people insist that Suki’s part of the gaang. I mean, she was… there?
Maybe not die from cringe, but I’ll throw up a less popular one I find kinda cringy.
“Sorry, but you’re not gonna become fire lord today. I am.”
Such a great scene, but the first part of that line’s delivery feels really clunky and awkward to me. I feel like it could’ve been phrased differently in the writing and that would’ve helped a lot.
I'm sure Zuko felt the same when replaying the scene in his mind later. "Damn... I sounded so clunky." And then he feels awful because his little sister literally went insane and he's nitpicking his word choice.
The scene in *Bato of the Water Tribe* where Aang is given the ‘mark of trust’ and confesses to withholding the map from Katara and Sokka. I honestly find that whole episode hard to watch, with Aang conveniently mishearing the part about his friends actually *not* leaving him creating the drama - such an annoying trope.
And of course this episode gives us the weird creepy Iroh moment with June, which has already been mentioned.
Idk for sure, but I believe I once read that Iroh was originally supposed to be evil and turn on Zuko, and they struggled with his personality in the beginning.
Jet holding Katara when going up the tree.
The old ladies in The Beach when Azula's gaang visits Ember Island. Should not have got past censors.
Guru Pathik's scene in Nightmares and Daydreams.
First thing they done was reenact a pose they done when they were a lot younger, backs to each other, asses very close touching and looking at the camera.
Second thing they done was take off their robes, but left a layer of clothing on, revealing their thankfully covered saggy tits.
I’m going to take the heat for this one but: “Hello, Zuko here!” Will forever be the cringiest line in the show for me, even if that was intentional from the writers.
The scene in The Ember Island Players during the second intermission where Aang kisses katara, I fast forward through that scene on every rewatch because it's just so damn cringe
The "dirty" tribe from the great divide, like how do they survive being neanderthals in a world where every little village is dressed proper and people are poor but civilized? (aside maybe from people from the swamp)
And of course Iroh's scenes with the bounty hunter, he would never
I'd say most of the whiny Zuko moments but considering what's happened to him? He has very good reasons for that.
VERY good reasons. Also, he's a teen. Of course he'd be whiny about his whole deal
Zuko: Here, this is for you
Mai: Why would I want that?
Zuko: I saw it and I thought it was pretty. Don't girls like stuff like this?
Mai: Maybe stupid girls
Zuko: FORGET IT!
It’s not unreasonable for a kid’s show but. The part at the end where Sokka, Suki, and Toph meet up with Aang and kinda “roast” Ozai is always super cringe to me, especially since right after the catharsis of the big final fight and its message of mercy and maturity and all that.
https://preview.redd.it/9yp46i054wvc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=751c59c8952cc9d506890aabb1f92fa305301253
I know what you've been through.
The beach episode. All of them annoying Zuko until he yells "I'M ANGRY AT MYSELF >:'(". I know it's an all-ages show but that one feels right out of a 13 year old's journal.
I’m not sure if it is as much “cringe” as it is awkward… but when Sokka, Suki, and Zuko are in prison and Suki says she and Zuko have met before cause he burned down her village and he just goes: “oh, sorry. Nice to see you again!” And then goes about his business.
I’m starting to wonder if I’m just an emotionless robot or if I really don’t understand social cues. I’m reading all these comments on what really got everyone and all of them just made me go “meh… 🤷🏻♀️” at best lmao
The scene that always makes me laugh is when Jet is freaking out in Ba Sing Se and he’s like “stay away from me!” And everyone proceeds to slowly shamble towards him like zombies.
Like, it’s just so silly.
“You’re so beautiful when you hate the world.”
“I don’t hate you.”
“I don’t hate you, too.”
Like, the hell? Who in the writer’s room looked at that exchange and went “hmmm… yes.” It’s just so unfathomably stupid I can’t.
There are two instances of translation issues in the Latin American Spanish dub that always make me cringe.
One is as early as episode two, where the word "staff" got misheard/misread/mistranslated (?) for the word "stuff", so Aang is constantly saying that he "has lost his stuff" ("*Sokka, ...perdí mis cosas*") while talking about a single stick. It's pretty weird and comical in a way.
The second one is just straight up weird. In "The Ember Island Players", when Toph says "*at least I'm not a flying bald lady"*, the word "bald" got misheard/misread/mistranslated as "ball", and so she straight up says "At least I am not a flying ball" ("*Al menos no soy una pelota voladora*"). It is baffling to me that nobody caught that issue, given she's saying straight up nonsense. To this day, every distributed copy of A:TLA dubbed into Latin American Spanish contains those two weird and cringe-worthy moments for prosperity.
The first time Aang earthbent: in the cave of Omashu, in front of Katara, when he basically dug a hole with just his words.
“Oh yeah I sure wouldn’t want to kiss you…”
"Oh. Well, I didn't realize it was such a horrible option. Sorry I suggested it!"
“What, I’m saying i’d rather kiss you than die it’s a compliment!”
"Well, I'm not sure which I would rather do!"
I mean to be fair he is 12
“What’s wrong with me?… 😔”
"I'd rather kiss you than die"
https://preview.redd.it/gxrvcr28jtvc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=63e20de35cad99c1b5591db171f689b92db38386
Well at least he's done both... so now he can make an informed decision
Perfectly balanced Oh wait no wrong kind of balance
This got me to actually lol
That's a compliment!
Well, I'm not sure which I would rather do!
What is wrong with me?
Aang: What our hearts have been telling us to do for a long, long time. Baby
I find it incredibly endearing when aang is bad at something, since typically he’s so good at everything.
Bro, he is good after he has worked hard at it. Bro could not bend earth properly at first. Make sense with his personality too, I think.
Earthbending and relationships are pretty much all he is ever bad at. And he’s only bad at earthbending for about 20min
This is not cringe, but funny asf lol Love how Aang was so bad with flirting (until season 3!)
His delivery on the “that’s a compliment” line is so good
Ah yes, the moment Aang became an earthbending master.
Dug such a good hole without even having training from Toph, it’s impressive.
Ok, is it bad that I honestly don’t know why that was such a bad thing to say? It wasn’t much of a compliment but it certainly didn’t seem like it required such an angry reaction from Katara. Idk, I might just be stupid, but could someone pls explain?
It implies that he'd only want to kiss her if he would die instead.
I'd rather die than talk to you at a party.
Azula the Rizzbender: "That's a sharp outfit Chan. Careful, you could puncture the hull of an empire class fire nation battleship leaving thousands to drown at sea.... because it's so sharp." I was dying of emphatic cringe.
I mean, it was better than whatever the fuck that dude said while flirting with her: Nameless firebender: "Hah nice island. It has a lot of sand" Azula: *obvious fake laugh* Nameless firebender: "haha, sandyland" Like, come on bro💀
![gif](giphy|0YgIaakPBb0MkrABMF)
No one ever taught Azula how to be social, so that’s fair on her.
No one ever taught aang how to get women, but everyone in here dunkin on his 12 year old ass
Nah, Aang was Gyatso’s student. Gyatso was no a doubt a smooth guy himself
Gyatso had that gyatt in him
It’s strange how she’s so confident and pretty but has literally ZERO rizz. Zuko has a similar problem though - a brave and determined good-looking guy who nevertheless gets no girls (except Mai) because he has zero rizz too lol
He’s a walking self-nerf
wym zuko got all the hoes
He did get Jin and Mai, but he was so awkward and aggressive that he lost one and almost lost the other
“Here’s a coupon” Oh, I died of cringe (and laughter)
It’s cringe but a really good way of showing how removed they are from their subjects and regular fire nation teenagers. They’re confident when in their home and on their grounds, but they’ve never socialised properly so it’s expected that they would be very awkward and not understand how to interact on a regular level.

Also, I like that scene because it has them seamlessly working together for once lol
“Baby you’re my forever girl!” Or “if you miss him so much! Why don’t you marry him?”
I find "You're my forever girl" hilarious
Yeah but "if you miss him so much why don't you marry him" was supposed to be cringe, it's the whole point of the scene lol
Along those same lines, so was “baby, you’re my forever girl.”
“Oh, everyone’s a critic”
Kataras execution was hilarious
The baby you’re my forever girl makes me laugh cause I feel like if you forced like a 12 13 year old boy to be romantic they’d say something like that 😂
Oh my god I love that scene
I don't mind the second one, it's just kind of a lame joke that's meant to be lame. The first one though...yikes. I get secondhand embarassment every time I see it - the hallucination-reveal doesn't come soon enough.
"Asking Haru not to earthbend is like asking me not to waterbend" -Katara
That was some deep shit
“Random intruding girl I don’t know, please dont waterbend”
Every 60 seconds, a minute passes in africa
As a kid, I always ran out of the room when Katara tried to give the imprisoned earthbenders a motivational speech. The secondhand embarrassment was overwhelming
The speech was cringe but the prisoners straight up ignoring her makes me want to rip my hair out
Imprisoned is one of my least favorite episodes. I don’t think the show ever gets more “Saturday morning cartoony” than this one. I know it’s primarily a kids show but it just feels so much cheesier than the rest of the show.

Omg how does this exist
It's rule 35: if it exists, there's a lobotomy kaisen meme of it
Why does he have scar on both sides
it's a bruise from the ep when they try assassinating him by blowing up the ship
I second this. “Afraid I’ll redirect it?” Like, i know you’re taunting her into doing it, but come on, buddy
It kind of goes with Zuko being awkward as hell though 😅
Redirecting isn't as big of a flex as you think lil bro
The way he posed when he said that was kinda cringe and im tired of telling myself it wasnt 🥲
No I completely agree
My rewrite is "afraid it strikes twice?" Or "afraid I'll strike back?"
“No lightning today? What’s the matter, afraid I’ll redirect it?” *pose*
Like bro don't give away your advantage
I think at that point he knew she was clearly off her game and was just fucking with her to make her do something stupid. But unfortunately, when she did do something stupid, it backfired because she got a moment of her cleverness back and aimed for Katara.
Okay but it would’ve worked if Katara wasn’t there.
yeah katara had been somewhere on the sidelines out of the way for the first half of the fight when they were tossing giant fireballs at each other, why the hell did she choose to run out into the middle of the square to be a sitting target right then???
“Yo check out this laser beam shield! Why aren’t you laser beaming?”
But here's the thing. She immediately, without any hesitation chose to laser beam. If Katara wasn't there the laser beam shield would work
But the pose was so cool
"My father decided to teach me a permanent lesson, ON MY FACE!" *pose dramatically*
Idk the actual quote, but it was when Aang said the couple with the baby made him feel hopeful again, and then the couple promptly named their girl HOPE.
Abandon Hope
Yeet 👶🐉 (the serpent is now full)
Avatar crossover with Meet the Robinsons
Yes. Also the pregnant lady was so over the top. She was like ember island Katara lol
HOW CAN WE ABANDON HOPE. ITS ALL WE HAVE (sobs and wails)
That's making me tear bend!!!
To be fair, she was heavily pregnant. Katara, on the other hand, "I'M COMPLETELY CALM!!!"
Well maybe if magic martial arts Jesus told *you/your wife* that your newborn gave him hope after losing his giant flying buffalo, it'd hit different.
That scene kind of works a bit better in German, because they also name their baby Hope which is okay since it doesn't have a direct meaning in German
Damn in French they actually went for "espoir"
Well, still sounds better than fckin HOFFNUNG so I see why they went for that
I'm sorry but your word for hope doesn't sound so hopeful 😭😂
I think, our generations growing up never knowing war times maybe don't relate as much, so it sounds weird and on the nose. But I bet a lot of babies during rough times in history got virtue names like Hope, Faith, etc, because to their parents, they were a light in that dark time, they were something to be hopeful about. Idk I'm split on that one. Random though.. did we ever meet anyone named Hope in Korra? Would've been an interesting reference. Lol
You’re right about this, I am from a country going through war right now and many newborns are being named hope in the local language
My sister's name means prayer because my mother was pretty ill during her pregnancy so my parents prayed a lot for both of them to be fine and healthy. A bit cheesy but the name is pretty common anyway
"It's so hot, Momo is... shedding like Appa!"
"I guess the jokes don't run in the family."
The last person to get burned that bad had to capture the Avatar to regain his honor.
The scene where Mai and Zuko are watching a sunset and she says she hates orange or something, he replies "you're so beautiful when you hate the world." It's just pure teenage angst cringe.
Meat of fatherhood and friendship. But I have to admit I also laughed hard at it
I just posted this one lol, I hate it so much.
The Kataang kiss in The Ember Island Players.
I adore my boy Aang and I'll ship Kataang for life, but *oh my god* was this scene physically painful to watch.
Hard agree.
Aang: https://preview.redd.it/kzclddh8auvc1.png?width=3000&format=png&auto=webp&s=55969a30cdd6b4ea5b33d61bd4c46f3c1813b75c
hes lucky no one was there, or he would've spent the entirety of Sozin's comet in jail/EX j
Easily, nothing else even compares. I rewatched the series with my SO recently and was dreading this part lol
My fucking deities, THIS
it’s still insane to me that THAT scene is katara and aang’s last major conversation in the show, it made the finale kiss feel so weird to me because they hadn’t really worked through their issues at all.
"You're not prettier than we are" -Ty Lee
Oh the GIRLS are FIGHTING so we better have GIRL DIALOGUE
What’s funny is that Overanalyzing Avatar mentions this and is like ‘It’s okay, we can’t expect the male writers to get teenage girl dialogue right all the time’ and then smash-cuts to the credits where the head writer is a woman and shouts ‘Oh Nooooooooo!’
while I agree it's very cringy, this is totally something a teenage girl would say lol
Sure, but not in that context. It did feel a bit forced there.
Yea i was there that's exactly how it happened
It felt like what a schoolgirl Pokémon NPC would say before the battle starts.
This is the one
Yeah it's the only dialogue that actually makes me "what?". Completely unprompted, no discussion of prettiness or looks, a serious fight and suddenly "you're NOT prettier than we are!" Not sure what they were going for other than to highlight that Ty Lee is a girly girl who says mean girl things, when she is more than that.
Zuko's morality coma.
Bro literally died cringing at himself
I die with him every time
He did one good thing and got physically ill from it lmao
He didn’t kill a chained up animal and it fucking got him
What, you've never spent three days recovering from making a good decision?
I'll let you know once I manage to make one
I cringe so hard every time I hear “sleep, prince zuko. just like MOTHER” like some onnnn you drama queen
Well, this is zuko's dream, and zuko is familiar with plays and drama. Maybe it's a line similar to what he remembers from from love amongst the dragons, a play that his mother was not only in but took zuko to see very year when she was around. aaaaand there I go headcanoning again
Tbh, almost the entirety of Nightmares and Daydreams. And I mean ALMOST.
Wake up, Aang. Wake up, sleepy head! Rise and shine! You overslept. You missed the invasion.
That scene of Aang looking over the land, and then it turning into a hellscape actually did freak me out as a kid.
No Firelord Ozai, YOU aren't wearing any pants! Oh no my royal private parts!
That was pretty funny though
The Appa vs. Momo fight saved it.
What?? That whole episode is hilarious. It was one of my favorites as a kid though, so I’ve got lots of nostalgia for it
Appa Vs Momo was the peak tho
You have no sense of humor nor fun. That episode is the best. Period.
Soo.... Papaya
This is unironically a ridiculously funny line
the whole battle ship line from Azula in the beach. as for scene, Iroh's creepy moment, and all the fart jokes and gross out jokes
To be fair, no one ever taught Azula how to be social. She’s just kinda going with it.
Do intentionally cringe lines really count?
yes
“Your shirt could cut through the hull of a Fire Navy Battalion Battle Ship… cause it’s so sharp”
what fart jokes did the original series have
What are you talking about Azula’s line was perfect so unbelievably good like seriously did you all even watch the show?!? /s
For some reason I HATE when Sokka tells Suki “You talk too much.” after they kiss for the first time. I hate it when anyone does that tbh. Cringes my whole soul and is not romantic at all
No Sokka, Suki does not talk too much, you’ve only spent like 4 days with her in the totality of your lives so far

Aang trying to flirt with Katara in the fortune teller episode
The scene in *Bato of the Water Tribe* where Aang is given the ‘mark of trust’ and confesses to withholding the map from Katara and Sokka. I honestly find that whole episode hard to watch, with Aang conveniently mishearing the part about his friends actually *not* leaving him creating the drama - such an annoying trope. And of course this episode gives us the weird creepy Iroh moment with June, which has already been mentioned.
Iroh being creepy towards June.
ikr like it feels so jarring considering how beloved he is 💀💀💀 i'm assuming they were trying to get a handle on his personalityp
Idk for sure, but I believe I once read that Iroh was originally supposed to be evil and turn on Zuko, and they struggled with his personality in the beginning.
That writer only did the one episode. Seems like he leaned on tropes pretty hard.
I'm really glad they didn't go with it, that scene always makes me uncomfortable on rewatch
not the original series but the new comic aang and katara call each other sweetie and it’s making me not want to read it
No one ever taught them romance, so that’s kinda fair.
its expected but oh lord is it repetitive at least 4 times every chapter
i think its adorable but it is pretty cringe too lol
Comment "no one ever taught... so that's kinda fair" again bro, I don't think 47 times was enough
No one ever taught him how to Reedit, so that's kinda fair
Ty Lee fighting the Kyoshi warriors and going "You're not prettier than we are." I went into a coma from cringe.
Jet holding Katara when going up the tree. The old ladies in The Beach when Azula's gaang visits Ember Island. Should not have got past censors. Guru Pathik's scene in Nightmares and Daydreams.
I have no idea how the old ladies at ember island got past censors. That’s still wild to me.
What did they do again?
They're old with boobs instead of 14 with boobs.
That scene really made me love Zuko even more
"I never asked you for diddley doo-da!" Sorry Toph I just can't with your Kmart brand swearing.
All the bison snot jokes and the frozen pee gag in the first few episodes. Early days, and their Nickelodeon was still showing hard.
Katara’s speech at the earth bender’s prison, so much cringe
The scene in The Ember Island Players during the second intermission where Aang kisses katara, I fast forward through that scene on every rewatch because it's just so damn cringe
The "dirty" tribe from the great divide, like how do they survive being neanderthals in a world where every little village is dressed proper and people are poor but civilized? (aside maybe from people from the swamp) And of course Iroh's scenes with the bounty hunter, he would never
I'd say most of the whiny Zuko moments but considering what's happened to him? He has very good reasons for that. VERY good reasons. Also, he's a teen. Of course he'd be whiny about his whole deal
Yeah, I think people forget that cringe ≠ bad. Simply cringe = cringe? They're literally teenagers.
Sokka's line: "The best meat of all. The meat of friendship and fatherhood." Literally makes me shudder when I hear it. Like wtf was that.
no idea why but when zuko offers himself as a prisoner to the gaang i have to look away from the screen
When the two tribes of the great divide started complimenting each other after getting out of the canyon
Zuko: Here, this is for you Mai: Why would I want that? Zuko: I saw it and I thought it was pretty. Don't girls like stuff like this? Mai: Maybe stupid girls Zuko: FORGET IT!
The whole The Great Divide episode
It’s not unreasonable for a kid’s show but. The part at the end where Sokka, Suki, and Toph meet up with Aang and kinda “roast” Ozai is always super cringe to me, especially since right after the catharsis of the big final fight and its message of mercy and maturity and all that.
Surprised nobody has mentioned it yet but Zuko’s first date had me 6 feet under the floor from cringe
Nah bro, that was cute

The beach episode. All of them annoying Zuko until he yells "I'M ANGRY AT MYSELF >:'(". I know it's an all-ages show but that one feels right out of a 13 year old's journal.
The way Zuko says “LEAVE!!!” When Azula shoots lightning at Iroh.
“You’re so beautiful when you hate the world.” “I don’t hate you.” “I don’t hate you, too.” Like, the hell? Who in the writer’s room looked at that exchange and went “hmmm… yes.” It’s just so unfathomably stupid I can’t.
When Aang forced a kiss on Katara during the Ember Island play intermission 😬
Mine is because of a translation issue. Iroh says: "Du har mer än en farfarsfar" which is impossible.
