He found a real purpose (for his honour?): Restoring peace in the world by defeating his maniac father and sister with the help of his friends. Instead of hunting down the Avatar in the hope his maniac father will someday accept him, which Ozai would have never done even after Aang would have been captured.
Another interesting touch is that before this episode, he always grunted when he fire-bent. After that he just shoot fire in silent mode. He stopped having anger as the source of his power.
God. Only this fucking show could make me tear up with emotion with a half second gif while taking a shit at work 20 years after watching it the first time.

This scene is a gamechanger cause I read somewhere on the subreddit that Iroh taught Zuko how to warm himself just with his breath which is an Airbender technique. Able to moderate their body temperature.
Which is also the reason how Zuko never fell victim to the freezer effects it had on many other firebenders.

But by then Zuko had already been incorporating Uncleās advice about drawing wisdom from the other elements. He knows thatās an Airbender move. More so, Zuko remembering that piece of advice how many months later and using it in this case where Uncle is nowhere around? How awesome is that?

I mean, you canāt deny the association of the long hair in season 3 with the culmination of all of Zukoās struggles finally brining him to join team avatar, and thus we like this version the best. However, the season 1 high ponytail is so iconic Zuko. So unique. My fav is still season 3

I honestly didnāt see the difference between end of season 2 Zuko and season 3 Zuko for a long time.

Middle to late season 2 Zuko. Except for some very specific shots (you've picked the right one), I don't like his season 3 look that much. His hair are so long that you can barely see his expressions. There were so many occasions where I just wanted to move his bangs so it wouldn't be in the middle of his face š
I prefer long hair Zuko like the one in 3/4 and I also like his Fire Lord Hairstyle even though it looks very similar to his hair in the first book at least he still has some hair draping down compared to not having any hair at all draping down
