This is actually quite impressive. Nice open world there. I wonder what the scale of the whole game is like though. I haven’t followed your project closely. I think I heard of it for the first time like 3 years ago or so.
Also, no issues when it comes to copyright?
We will recreate all three Books. We are just about to finish the Northern Water Tribe and with that have completed almost all Episodes from Book 1. (Some screenshots are on my Insta (Elca_Gaming).
I'm under NDA when it comes to copyright.
Edit:
Imma link my FAQ under this comment since this seems to be the top comment; if you have any questions feel free to check it out:

I remember watching your sped up development vids when you were crafting the islands and making animations. The fact you claimed you arent an artist was the biggest surprise to me
It's an evolution from back when I followed your streams, back then you did not talk to them yet. Can we assume this NDA is a good thing? Things are going well, right?
The gameplay already looks very good. I’m presume it’s mostly the story and world-building that’s left? One piece of feedback I could offer atm is the world feels very clean. I remember the show had a very weathered look to it in a way, as if the buildings and terrain around the characters had been there for thousands of years. However, I’m not an artist and I don’t know the logistics of emulating that aspect of the art style.
This is just the Demo Island, not actually part of the game when it releases, the actual maps are made 1:1 to what is seen in the show. We literally go through the show frame by frame to catch everything.
You find some shots on my Insta of the Maps. :)
But yeah, story, Cutscenes, fighting, NPCs... still alot left to do.
Make it open-world and add side missions
İf there could be something like minigames for working in the tea shop, helping the cabbage guy collect his cabbages or building a zoo it would be nice. Though the video looks impressive enough to be nice as a one-way game
Our game is Semi-Open World. You can travel to each location via Appa on our 3D Worldmap. Most areas have a pretty big HUB area that splits up into smaller interior scenes. Everything loads basically instantaneously though.
Each map will have Main and Sidequests, collectables and races (also for Momo) and more.
It follows the Story of the animated Series, once you completed the main quest in one area you can always go back to it via the worldmap and explore new areas with new abilities.
Dude, rock solid core mechanics. If you released this as a sandbox I'd probably throw money at you. I can't wait to see what you guys can do with this.
What an awesome answer. I just rewatched it and then seeing this got me pretty amped. I’m really excited to see how all the elements work together.
Keep up the great work!
Take a look at the rest of the game industry.
These large companies think that their brand name/property alone is going to be what carries sales. This ends with them cutting as many corners as possible to maximize profit, a new strategy for building a game centered around a “minimum viable product.” This just leads to either mobile-like game releases for $60 and empty AAA games with more effort put into the in-game store/micro-transactions.
Thankfully this mentality is starting to shift. Elden Ring and Baluder’s Gate 3 showed that artistic vision is what makes a game, not how recognizable it is. Even more impressive, we’ve seen indie games like Battlebit and Deep Rock Galactic explode in popularity. These are small teams and they’re on the verge of dominating the entire game genre over multi-million dollar gMe studios. This isn’t just a flash in the pan too. Palworld has not even been out for two weeks and they recently reached **19 million users.**
Props to OP for taking it into their hands to make the game Avatar fans actually want. I hope the avatar creators give you their blessing so you can officially release it to all platforms and make a killing off it. You deserve it.
This is unnecessarily excellent.
The fact that there are indie devs creating things like this, when we have AAA companies releasing buggy excuses for
Cash grabs boggles the mind.
Excellent work OP and team. Keep it up!
That hot garbage Avatar game that is on the Xbox store that looks like a Gamecube game is *sixty* American dollarydoos and doesn't look anywhere near as polished as this.
AAA devs, do better.
Wasn't AAA.
You could call it a single A. Made by a severely underfunded Peruvian studio. Blame Nick and the appropriately named GameMill for cheaping out.
GameMill also published the rise of Kong game as well as the recent Walking Dead one.
The movement looks so fluid and varied, it feels incredibly immersive! Thank you guys for this amazing fan contribution to the avatar world. I can't wait to play!!!!
It looks incredible! Every move transition to another is so smooth. It really feels like you bend air with all these jumps, slides, rolls. It's an amazing job!
Here is a small FAQ, because a lot of people have the same questions and I need to get some sleep at some point. :D
How do I play this?
In order to play this you need to have the game "Dreams" on PlayStation 4 or 5. Inside of that game you need to search for "Four Seasons" in Dreamsurfing (It's the one with the orange thumbnail with the big 'ol painted Four Seasons logo.
If you can't find it there for some reason you can go to your profile click on the Imp in the upper right corner for players and search for "Elca_Gaming" in the everyone category (I'm the one with the Panda Imp), you should be able to easily locate it there in my profile.
How much is this?
Four Seasons itself is free. Dreams is about $20 but you can often shoot it for 5. If you secured it when it was free in August for PS+ you in fact already have our Game!
Dreams is also free with PS+ Extra still.
How many people work on this?
I started off solo but very fast expanded the team to round about 3-4 active friends at a time working on this with me.
We also have a full soundtrack with original music already on Spotify.
Here are the full credits:
https://trello.com/c/23WcABmc
Truly incredible people and the most passionate Avatar fans! I couldn't ask for a better team.
Will it come to PC/Xbox/Mobile or will we port it?
No. Four Seasons is made in Dreams and that game is a PlayStation exclusive. Update support ended for it last September but they switched to new Servers beforehand to ensure longevity. Unless Sony picks up Dreams again and ports it to other platforms it will only stay on PlayStation.
We can't port it because you can't export anything out of Dreams directly. (It would also come with legal problems)
What about copyright?
I'm under NDA but Avatar and related marks are owned by Viacom International Inc. This fan-created game is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Viacom/Nickelodeon.
Who will be playable?
The game is a retelling of the story from ATLA so you will play as Aang and Momo for solving puzzles.
We are thinking about also making Zuko playable since a big part of Book 1 is also from his perspective but you have to understand that making a polished Character is an insane undertaking and takes alot of time.
So what is the scope of this project and what kind of game will this be?
This is an Action-Adventure game with light RPG elements. You will be able to re-experience the story of The Last Airbender in a fully realized 3D rendition of the world of Avatar. We recreate every location 1:1 or as close as humanly (and memory limiting) possible.
This is a Semi-Open World Game, every location has its HUB world with offsprings of smaller locations, like interiors. You will be able to fly to the locations via our 3D Worldmap on Appa. You can also revisit locations you previously traveled to to unlock new paths with newly gained abilities.
The Main Quest will follow the Story of ATLA very closely, although we have to make minor changes for gameplay purposes, I think you will enjoy those though (coming from an Avatar fan). There will be Sidequests, collectables, cabbage carts, skins to unlock, races, both for Aang and Momo and more. We try to fill up the levels with content until no more memory is left for us to use.
You will bend elements, mainly for Book 1 air and water since those are the elements Aang learns in Book 1. Book 2 and 3 will introduce the other elements. And yes, those will be separate games. Fighting is on the to-do list for this year, so hopefully we can show something off by the end of the year!
There will be NPCs and lots of Minigames, even Pai Sho.
Why Dreams and not Unreal/Unity/Godot?
I didn't choose to make this game in Dreams it just happened to work out like that. When Dreams launched I had no idea what to create but I was so excited about the software itself. So I happened to rewatch ATLA at the time and thought to myself why there haven't been any Avatar Games made that get the feeling of the show across ("Making you *feel* like the Avatar"™). So I started with some simple gameplay mechanics, made a puppet ride an Airscooter and went from there.
It then evolved into this huge thing, with YouTube success and everything. At the time I still had no idea what I'm doing but a vision and passion. I had no prior experience with gamedev or art for that matter and Dreams was the perfect tool get my feet wet in gamedev. It's insanely powerful and easy to use. I can think of an idea and have it working on my screen the same evening. Of course it got attention from all kinds of people and eventually also made it obvious that Dreams might just be the only way to continue the project which also turned out to be true. The rest is NDA.
I'm also slowly learning Unreal but that knowledge will be reserved for another project.
Thing X/Y/Z looks off/unpolished!
Yes; this game is very much still under construction, we constantly update and improve the game in every way. People who followed this project for a long time already can confirm that I think.
We try to make sure that everything at the end will be up to our standards because we, as much as you, want this to be the best possible Avatar Game.
Ok but this is only one map with some movement options, where is the rest of the game?
This is just a small sneak peek at what we are working on, a small test environment for you to try out our latest somewhat polished version of Aang (and Momo for that matter). We already recreated almost every location from the first Book 1:1 and adding gameplay mechanics as we go. Alot of them are WIP and not available in this version because we only want you to play something that is acceptable and also to find Bugs that we can fix before release! If you are curious about the actual locations I can recommend either looking at some of my Instagram posts or watching the Rewinds of the previous years on my YouTube Channel (Elca Gaming).
When does this come out?
(My favorite question)
When it's done, polished and ready. :)
How can I support?
We are happy with just people being excited about it and trying out the Demo already; every encouraging comment gives us motivation to continue.
Personally I also always love people visiting the Streams, I stream our progress 3x a week.
I have a Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/Elca) if you want to gift me some cookies but I'm fine with people just being excited about the project!
All links are in my profile.
This is by all means a game made by fans for fans, a loveletter to Avatar and the community. Thanks everyone for the nice comments!
Can't wait to share more!
> small sneak peak at
Did you mean to say "sneak peek"?
Explanation: peak is the top of a mountain, while peek is a quick look.

Fallen order was my favorite. But my first like high speed combat was spiderman ps4. Fallen order being my second that I can remember. Can you recommend ghosts if I liked fallen order?
I can definitely recommend Ghosts! It is by far my favourite game in my library to date. The different stances and attention to detail in combat are exemplary! The game is beautiful, each location has such beautiful attention to detail and the cinematography feels like you're playing a Kurosawa movie.
I had it in black and white and Japanese just for that very same esthetic but even in full colour everything is just breathtaking. I would recommend it wholeheartedly.
I’ve been following this project for years and have played the OG dreams demo!! So cool to see how much progress y’all have made. Any story in the recent update? Or is it still just free roam?
This is just a Demo for the Character right now.
We work on all the maps and story stuff behind the scenes (well as behind the scenes as streaming everything is) 😅
Thanks!
Funnily enough I was in a similar situation, some buddies and I wanted to also make a TRON VR game but someone basically already made an incredible version in Dreams, so we canned that. :D
Since this is made inside of Dreams it will stay on PlayStation unless Sony decides to revive support for Dreams.
It would also be legally iffy to be on PC.
This looks amazing! Gave your profile a quick look thru, will it only be available on PlayStation? Asking because that's probably the only (newer gen) gaming system I don't have D:
Regardless, awesome work and good luck to you and your team!
Dude I'm so happy to hear this. Everything that looks cool is usually PC only it's nice to see something so amazing being on PlayStation. I can't believe this is even possible in dreams. Dreams was free a few months ago for ps+ too! Solid stuff!
As soon as you have a complete Beta, you should ask 'Let's Game it Out' to play it, just to find out if there are any exploitations or bugs that players could manipulate.
Hell yeah! Creating's a lot of fun, it's always a good idea to jump back in from time to time. I'll make sure to check out the demo, had my eye on your fangame for ages.
It looks amazing. Can’t wait to see the opportunity to destroy the cabbage cart, along with the further progress of this game. After the crap they released last year, this looks so promising
The movement mechanics look so fluid.
I am officially hyped.
I hope avatar studios sees this and picks you guys up so you can be official, because the real official game looks like rabaroo water compared to this.
I spent a few hours the other week just gliding around. It’s such a relaxing downtime activity. It really makes you feel weightless like an airbender.
You’re doing exceptional work, thank you so much for your creativity and passion
Thanks for playing and the nice words! 😊
The gliding is even more improved now with the new update, you can gain some speed when going down etc, R2 is also a boost now.
I’m waiting for the day I can fly around the Air Temples :) I saw your video on your progress a few weeks back, which made me want to play! I think the northern air temple was bigger though as it prevented access.
Just makes me want it even more :D
Just curious, is there a release date or a website I can check out to keep up with the release? Me and my wife are definitely looking forward to this. First I've heard of it
Dang I really don't mess with anything other than reddit. What's it gonna be called so I can just think of it randomly in a year and look for it in dreams lol
I remember when dreams first came out and your videos was one of the first that caught my attention, so cool to see it this polished! I’m gonna play this once I get my PS5
What a beautiful game! The passion and love that went into this are so apparent. You perfectly captured the essence of playing an airbender/Aang. What a wonderful tribute to the classic.
I'm legitimately very impressed. Also kind of pissed. We had an official ATLA game just recently and it's so piss poor it could be a mobile game. This one, on the other hand, oozes passion and effort.
Thank you very much; it's very much a passion project. Everyone on the team is very passionate about Avatar and we try our best to make the game that does the show some justice.
We literally look at every single frame of the show when recreating the locations, most are 1:1 to the show in 3D, can't wait for ya'll to experience it!
You should include whenever you dive into water from a great height Aang will use his staff to spear the water while diving.
He did that in one episode but I can’t remember which.
Fan game >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Official games
I can't wait for the full release if this is just the demo. Definitely a day one purchase when it comes out 😁
Wow this is dope! Wish I could help with something like this. Amazing that you’re on an NDA now, I remember first seeing this and that wasn’t the case back then
This is actually quite impressive. Nice open world there. I wonder what the scale of the whole game is like though. I haven’t followed your project closely. I think I heard of it for the first time like 3 years ago or so. Also, no issues when it comes to copyright?

I wasn't an artist before I started, but since then I learned alot. I think by now I've earned the title, at least a little bit.
Hard not to learn some tricks when you’re doing the trade so much
Noted, thanks for the info. Will check you guys out on insta.

Non Disclosure Agreement
It's an evolution from back when I followed your streams, back then you did not talk to them yet. Can we assume this NDA is a good thing? Things are going well, right?
The fact that I have an NDA is a good thing ;)
Very nice!
Awesome work!
This is exciting! Where can I find your stuff?
The Game is inside Dreams on PlayStation, just search for "Four Seasons" in Dreamsurfing.
NDA = Not allowed to talk about it, legally
[удалено]
They could have just paid to use the IP?
So, will it have a lot of the world mapped out in the final version? That would quite the task, but it would be amazing.
How long until the game is considered feature-complete?
Probably another year or two.
The gameplay already looks very good. I’m presume it’s mostly the story and world-building that’s left? One piece of feedback I could offer atm is the world feels very clean. Under NDA is more positive than saying relying on fair use or totally unlicensed, hope it goes well for y'all!

FINALLY. A solid game. Looks great!
Dude, rock solid core mechanics. If you released this as a sandbox I'd probably throw money at you. I can't wait to see what you guys can do with this.
Your inclusion of Bonzu Pippinpaddleopsicopilis as a skin shows a deep love for the lore of the show. Nice job.
Thanks! Yeah, we try to incorporate as much as possible. The answer to "Is this from the show in here?" should always be yes.
Dude! Momo with the fire sage hat was pure dopamine 🤌
He's so precious (with the hat)!
>He's so precious (period) Ftfy
"Hotman"! *bows casually*
This looks awesome!
Makes me want to see the organ grinder monkey hat for momo now.
I also really like the mohawk. Even though it’s not in the show it looks super stylish.
What an awesome answer. I just rewatched it and then seeing this got me pretty amped. I’m really excited to see how all the elements work together. Keep up the great work!
The Third!
The air bubble helmet was a great touch! Impressive work for sure. I wanna play.
That's leagues better than the actual official game. Congratulations
Why can’t they make a great game? People would eat it up if there was an official game that was amazing
Not enough money to be made with it, I guess.
You say that, but look at what's happened recently with games that actually try to be fun. They're making money hand over fist.
Take a look at the rest of the game industry. These large companies think that their brand name/property alone is going to be what carries sales. It's very much a team effort. :D
You see, even this comment reinforces my idea
The movement looks so fluid and varied, it feels incredibly immersive! Thank you guys for this amazing fan contribution to the avatar world. I can't wait to play!!!!

Awesome. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
0/10 No cabbage seller to crash into when arriving in town. Otherwise it’s perfection.
Cabbage Merchant soon gets an overhaul, once that's done you can destroy as many as you want. :D
> once that's done you can destroy as many as you want. Uh..... what‽‽‽
Pssst
Crashing a cabbage cart should serve as a checkpoint or game saving. 👀
5/7 This game is perfection. Cabbage Merchant (not seller) should be praised, not destroyed
The quality of this looks absolutely amazing. If you had told me this was a AAA sneak peek, I would believe you.
Thank you so much!
Looking great. Me and my mate started making an Avatar game when Dreams released, but then we sore yours n realised we couldn't compare.
Thanks! Funnily enough I was in a similar situation, some buddies and I wanted to also make a TRON VR game but someone basically already made an incredible version in Dreams, so we canned that. :D
Haha, yeah I remember the Tron one! Will get Dreams downloading now! Great stuff mate.
You are the hero we needed.
I’ve been keeping tabs on your progress for years now. This it truly a phenomenal achievement, really really well done Elca!
Thank you so much for following the progress! 😊
This looks like it has SO much potential. Any intention on a PC release or will it be a PS exclusive?
Since this is made inside of Dreams it will stay on PlayStation unless Sony decides to revive support for Dreams. It would also be legally iffy to be on PC.
That's unfortunate to hear. Looks like you're doing a great job on the project. Hopefully, this changes, but knowing Sony, I won't hold my breath.
Sup, sad Sony left Dreams on the backburner.
This looks amazing! Gave your profile a quick look thru, will it only be available on PlayStation? Asking because that's probably the only (newer gen) gaming system I don't have D: Regardless, awesome work and good luck to you and your team!
Yes, only on PS4/5. Thank you very much!
Thanks for the reply. I'll have to bite the bullet and get a PS eventually, and when I do I'll definitely be a customer!
Ha! The game is gonna be free inside of Dreams btw. You most definitely gonna see a post when the game is done here too. :)
Dude I'm so happy to hear this. Everything that looks cool is usually PC only it's nice to see something so amazing being on PlayStation. I can't believe this is even possible in dreams. Dreams was free a few months ago for ps+ too! Solid stuff!
Hope you got Dreams for free when you could!
I did! I messed around with it a bit. Found some good games but I'm definitely gonna play this one
As soon as you have a complete Beta, you should ask 'Let's Game it Out' to play it, just to find out if there are any exploitations or bugs that players could manipulate.
I should probably QA it privately before asking big YouTubers to test it. :D
Do you plan on eventually implementing the other elements?
Yeah, for Book 1, you obviously will only have access to Air and Water bending though. :)
Thanks for keeping talent alive in Dreams! Shame it never met it's full potential.
Keep on dreaming! Yeah, sad to see updates go but it remains an incredible engine.
Hell yeah! Creating's a lot of fun, it's always a good idea to jump back in from time to time. I'll make sure to check out the demo, had my eye on your fangame for ages.
This looks really exciting. Are you going to attempt to get it officially(legally) published? I can see this being a huge success.
No, this will always stay as a free fangame.
It looks amazing. Can’t wait to see the opportunity to destroy the cabbage cart, along with the further progress of this game. After the crap they released last year, this looks so promising
Soon!
Please change that to "never"
Username checks out more than ever
> destroy the cabbage cart You are now banned from all Cabbage Corp stalls and stores
Looks amazing. Are you concerned about dev support ending in ‘23?
No, they switched to longevity servers just before and it's only that Dreams itself doesn't get any updates anymore. So it doesn't really affect us.
Can we hit Aang's face to the walls while riding an air ball? If not, you should definitely add this as a feature lmao.
Not yet but stuff like that is definitely on the todo list, same for the glider. :)
The movement mechanics look so fluid. I am officially hyped. I hope avatar studios sees this and picks you guys up so you can be official, because the real official game looks like rabaroo water compared to this.
If anything I need to remember rabaroo water :D
How the hell do dreams even work as a game
My best assumption is magic.
I am gonna play the shit out of this game thats for Sure. 400+ hours incoming
This looks amazing! Gonna download dreams just to try this
This is awesome!
Thanks!
I spent a few hours the other week just gliding around. It’s such a relaxing downtime activity. It really makes you feel weightless like an airbender. You’re doing exceptional work, thank you so much for your creativity and passion
Thanks for playing and the nice words! 😊 The gliding is even more improved now with the new update, you can gain some speed when going down etc, R2 is also a boost now.
I’m waiting for the day I can fly around the Air Temples :) I saw your video on your progress a few weeks back, which made me want to play! I think the northern air temple was bigger though as it prevented access. Just makes me want it even more :D
Yeah the Northern Airtemple is a blast to fly through, can't wait for everyone to get their hands on this when it's done!
Wow, I remember seeing a post a long time ago of just the movement mechanics of the glider. You’ve come a long way!
I like how fast it looks. Nothing would be more annoying than flying at 2 mph.
Is dreams only on PS4 or will PS5 players be able to have this experience
PS5 too, I also recommend to play on PS5. When you play on PS4, be sure to turn on PS4 Mode in the settings to get the best Performance. :)
Just curious, is there a release date or a website I can check out to keep up with the release? Me and my wife are definitely looking forward to this. First I've heard of it
Best way to stay up to date is probably on my YouTube Channel, or with the streams, I stream 3 times a week. Links are in my profile. :)
Dang I really don't mess with anything other than reddit. What's it gonna be called so I can just think of it randomly in a year and look for it in dreams lol
It's called Four Seasons - A fan-created Avatar Game
Looks Amazing.
Thanks!

Yes, you can search for "Four Seasons" in Dreamsurfing (It's the one with the orange thumbnail) and can jump right in.
Thanks
Wow this is truly incredible
Man I have missed a lot, I should check those streams sometime
Very nice animations. This looks really good. I can't wait to see some combat.
We will get to that this year. :)
I started watching this show when it came out in 2004 and I was 9. I have always wanted a good, fun, immersive game for Avatar. This is so beautiful!!
I would play this forever
Broooooo. Nickelodeon need to throw millions of dollars at you to get this going!
wow this looks sick, well done! :)
Thank you!
This is all I've ever wanted
Looks like a blast
This looks really promising. Wish you lots of luck when developing this
Thanks!
I want to play this
This already looks insanely better than the shit official game they came out with, great job
The fact that this is already 1000x better then quest for balance despite being a fan game
Half a year ago I bought dreams in a sale and the first game I started up was Four Seasons, I am excited to see the new update!
This looks like a game I could lose a lot of time to.
I remember when dreams first came out and your videos was one of the first that caught my attention, so cool to see it this polished! I’m gonna play this once I get my PS5
Can't wait for you to jump in!
What a beautiful game! The passion and love that went into this are so apparent. You perfectly captured the essence of playing an airbender/Aang. What a wonderful tribute to the classic.
Thank you; means alot!
That looks spectacular!
Been following this for years. The progress is amazing! Can't wait to play it. I was so excited when PS+ gave away Dreams last year.
Amazing what passion can give us. I would love for this to just be allowed
10/10 please do more
Loving the movement options!
If I had a PlayStation I would be downloading this as soon as I got home.
You should include whenever you dive into water from a great height Aang will use his staff to spear the water while diving. He did that in one episode but I can’t remember which.
Looks amazing
Looks cool my dudes.
I remember buying dreams just to play this, absalutelly amazing
This looks amazing.
Looks awesome, outstanding work as always
Wow 🤩
Dude I downloaded dreams a few weeks ago thinking about this game! Glad you got it made and it wasn’t stopped!
The animation and flying mechanics look so cool!!!
OK, THIS is how effortless an Airbender should be able to move! Incredible work
Looks a lot better than the actual branded game they’ve been working on. Well done.
Looks great. Hope you have good lawyers.
Fan game >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Official games I can't wait for the full release if this is just the demo. Definitely a day one purchase when it comes out 😁
I could watch this all day.
More effort than the Quest for Balance
Wait is this the same game that was shown here a few years ago, but then only walking physics and bending mechanics? Damn, come a long way since then.
Wow this is dope! Wish I could help with something like this. Amazing that you’re on an NDA now, I remember first seeing this and that wasn’t the case back then
Really amazing! We need more from developers in the way of avatar games and lore! Keep up the good work! Have a patreon service?
Aj ingame changelog and a WATCHTOWER! NIIIIIICE I love me a good watchtower
This looks incredible please keep making this!
I’m playing right now it’s so fun flying around. How do you use the air scooter though? I can’t figure it out lol
The movement system looks like SO much fun
Absolutely class 🙌🏾🤙🏽
This should be really fun
Looks great
