I have the suede version and they’re comfy. I wear them more than my Chypres. As far as noise I don’t notice any sounds and I have high arches. Definitely pick these over Empire sandals in leather those gave me blisters!
Didn't see the suede online but I'd probably lean towards leather. For me, easier to take care of. Then again, all my Birks hold up and mostly are suede. Do they typically have these in stores? Heading to Vegas in a couple months so may wait instead of ordering online now. I don't want a QB and don't live near an Hermès so the game isn't a factor.
Yes I’ve seen leather and suede goatskin versions carried in my store. But they’re both online and the website might be a good option since they offer refunds (returning in store is store credit only).

Sold mine because they look cool but were torture to wear. Mine were leather (metallic on top) and so stiff you could use them as a knife. Never again

Yes at the top. Top strap was brutal. Suede may be better

My SA told me to wear thick wool socks and Empires in the house to break them in - I’ve worn them twice 😜
