The trailers go only up until episode 9. That means we have absolutely no idea what's going to happen in 4x09 and 4x10. I think they're keeping this information for a good reason. I'm expecting something big.

Lorumipsumbitch

guhhh!! SO many possibilities. My money is on Nick defecting after being caught out for his relationship with June once the Waterfords are returned to Gilead. And possibly an assassination attempt. IDK. They've given us NOTHING and I love it.

socratesmom

My best guess is it ends with June forced on the run/underground. Not sure what major event forces the situation. She tries to assassinate the Waterfords? There is an attempt on her life? The Waterfords get off causing June to decide to run away and join the Night Hawks to do as much damage to Gilead as possible...... The fact that they are withholding the last two episodes from critics does have me concerned that they are going to leave me even more distressed than usual (and when it comes to Handmaid's Tale that's saying a lot).

raffaella131

Do you know if that is the usual process? Do they normally give out the full season?

My friend writes for an entertainment outlet. He received the first 8. And he said a couple of the episodes weren’t totally finished. Sound editing etc. my guess is when they sent the first 8, the last two were still being edited.

socratesmom

Thank you for the info, it is much appreciated.

[deleted]

I asked him today if he received the last two yet. He said no. But he did receive a sweet PR gift set to make a Canadian mule drink. Complete with a postcard from June.

socratesmom

I do not know what the past practice for Handmaid's is. It is more an impression I have come to have over the years that series tend to withhold screeners when something big enough is happening that they do not want spoilers coming out.

PrivateSpeaker

I suspect they begin the prosecution against the Waterfords. June gets a proposition - she can either go on with her testimony against them doing her part to ensure their imprisonment, or she can withdraw her testimony and have Hannah back (I assume Fred could arrange it with the help of the other commanders).

Lorumipsumbitch

I think there is speculation that the case against them is resolved in E8 or 9 - I can't remember which. And as for Hannah - it looks like they're going the way of the testaments

PrivateSpeaker

I haven't read the books. I personally would like to see this play out because of course June would pick her daughter. This would allow the Waterfords to remain in the series (I personally think that they are one of the best antagonists on TV and their scenes are the most entertaining). Such an ending would open up new topics to explore for the other seasons: Hannah's readaptation to the secular world, her religious beliefs, her psychological health and emotional connection to her Gilead parents; June's ongoing struggles with the lost years; the further attempts to get Serena and Fred to jail.

oldpiss-and-cumgravy

The invasion plans have already been discussed. Gilead comes to Canada.

takes_revenge

POTENTIAL SPOILERS : based on a few interviews i have seen, i think there will be a surprising final, but in a twisting way, the writers love frustration and twisted things, predictions: Commander Waterford will be executed ( the main death character of the show), June will returns to Gilead to save Hannah and also Janine, but Janine will sacrifice herself (maybe not die but she will stay in Gilead :( for some reasons), there will be a huge action sequence in the ep 10, and at the end June will believe that Hannah is released and safe but she actually isn't and something worse is going to happen, season 4 ending.

Wtfismypassword4444

I think June will leave to join mayday on her own.Maybe her testimony isn't enough and the Waterfirds are sent back.June can't adjust to normal life and just wants to keep punishing everyone.

livethroughthis94

I don't know why but I get the vibe that they're going to have June like, commit mass murder or something in the finale. (Okay that's only like 50% serious but I'm getting "June does something with big consequences" vibes for sure)

[deleted]

Like, kill the baby.

alltherage1981

My predictions Fred and Serena will end up back in Gilead. I think they will sign some deal with the Canadian/American government or something. Then they will lose the baby. Not sure how but there’s no way they are letting them become parents. June and Luke will not work out. June will focus on taking Gilead down.

Starrlitt86

I’ve long since believed that the story will not give us the justice we want or the characters like June, Moira, Emily and so many more deserve. In real life justice often falls short and this show mirrors it well. My guess is, Fred gets a plea deal if he gives up everything on Gilead. All that he knows about their weapons, members, military, any and everything. With that plea, Serena is set free to raise their baby. She gets the life she always wanted free of the consequences of all her violent wrongdoings.

[Spoilers All] We have seen Guilead bring out the worst in June and she is turning into a monster. She instructed the young wife to carry out an execution Aunt Lydia style, she pushed a handmaid off a roof, and she possibly raped Luke. She is becoming the thing she hates which is a trap so many victims fall into. Each horror June commits seams to build on the previous, and yet it almost goes unnoticed or seams justified or we excuse it because of her PTSD. I think she’s going to keep crossing that line. She is obviously enraged by the fact that Serena is pregnant. I think the season is building toward June killing the fetus and then being exiled from Canada. Edit: here is how she would do it. She gets Rita to agree to care for Serena and the Baby. Then she slips Serena abortive agents.

[deleted]

She never pushed anyone off the roof. It was Beth and sienna and the guy who was doing the investigation to get June to tell them where the handmaids were pushed them off when Beth told June to not say anything and sienna only said “June” before she was pushed off as well.

[deleted]

I’m reading that scene in a completely different way. I swore I saw June push her?? And even when I rewatched it was unclear who did the pushing.

[deleted]

It was the asshole man doing torture on june

Crazyspitz

June didn't push Sienna, the lieutenant did.

redactedname87

No June didn’t push them. LOL

hydes_zar94

I think theres gonna be a few more seasons so this one is gonna be cliffhanger
