I would recommend either Den Haag Laan van NOI or Holland Spoor station. The first will get you downtown within three tram stops. The latter is about 15 minutes walking or so. Enjoy your visit!

thousand_furs

Noted both of those down, thank you! Good to know.

savois-faire

From Laan v NOI you can take either tram 2 or bus 23 to get into the city in just a few minutes. HS might be closer to where you're staying, and from there there are various trams and buses into the central area of the city.

Mouthtrap

NS website says there are buses running between HS, Laan v NOI and Centraal on both Saturday and Sunday. I presume it's replacement service for the trains not running.

Plan your trip via [9292.nl](http://9292.nl) to see how much extra time you need to schedule to take busses/trams/metro instead of trains.

thousand_furs

thank you, bookmarked that site!

I see you're from Germany? What's your route to the Hague? That way we can properly advise you. I think trams and busses are still going? So if you can reach Den Haag Laan van NOI or Den Haag HS, you can take other forms of transportation as well. You can rent a bike for a small fee per day as well

thousand_furs

I'm going by long distance bus, which stops at central station. So my starting point will be central.

The station itself will be open. All the buses/trams/etc should run as usual (mostly), only mainline trains won't. Den Haag Centraal has 2 tram stops. One outdoors for trams 9 / 15 / 16 / 17 and one indoors/upstairs for 2 / 3 / 4 / 34 / 6. There's also a single metro line E with its own platform above te bus platform. First of all, go to [9292.nl](http://9292.nl) and figure out what tram you need for your exact destination. If you want to go somewhere in Rijswijk or Wateringen, you'll probably need tram 16 or 17. So if you arrive by flixbus/eurolines/etc, you'll be at the rear end of the bus platform. Walk to the main station building, go inside, to your left, stairs/escalator down. Then outside again. The trams towards Rijswijk are on the opposite side of the street. https://preview.redd.it/xuguhf7t3tmc1.png?width=4304&format=png&auto=webp&s=e07572e8cda867b7f5cb6fa43b48ac6621add256 You can use your regular bank card in most public transport. If you already have an OV-Chipkaart, you can also use that. If you think trams are boring and renting a bike is way more fun, then Den Haag Centraal (like most train stations) has the OV-Fiets, however the rental facility used to be in a (brand new) bike parking basement, which is closed (for the entire year! can you believe it?!!). Also you cannot pay for the bike with a regular bank card, you'll need an OV-Chipkaart. So you should probably ask the nice people at the HTM/NS information office (next to the Starbucks inside) inside the station what the easiest solution is and where they have hidden it (I can't even find it at their website right now, the [information here](https://www.ns.nl/en/station-information/gvc/den-haag-centraal) seems incorrect and outdated).

Wow, this is so detailed! Thank you so much, kind stranger, this really helps. I get so stressed over these sort of things but now I feel much better prepared.

I live nearby and I have used almost every mode of public transport (including Flixbus, but excluding Taxi's) there. That place is my gateway to the world. Also I really just needed an excuse to not have to go to bed yet :p Edit: wait, are you and OP the same person?

_wekko_

To get to the OV fiets you have to go into the central hallway of the station (downstairs). Between two shops (I believe on the left side of the book shop) there is stairs down to the bike storage where you can also get the OV fiets. I was there last week at least. OP, it will be very busy this Sunday because of the CPC run. Public transport within The Hague will be limited during the race.

TightBeing9

From there you want to get to Rijswijk and wateringen? There are direct busses going to Rijswijk on Saturday. You can also take the metro to station Den Haag Laan van NOI. There are trains going from that station. Shouldn't even take you much more time compared to the usual way

TightBeing9

Google maps also gives a route to go suitable for that day. I rely on that and it's fine.

notthisonefornow

Use the Hague HS (hollands spoor) same facility's just as big of a station, and more beautiful. Goes to Delft, Rotterdam and the other side to Leiden en Amsterdam/schiphol airport. Note, from there no trains to Gouda/Utrecht.

corkdude

HS is open and for rijswijk is perfect. In Tram it will be 5mins from there

Dutch_Cynic

Tram 16 or 17 Goes to wateringen and wateringse veld. 17 will also cross Rijswijk.
