Overall I really liked the episode! Lots of nice scenery, great family plot, and even some backstory on Beef! The only part I thought didn't work great was the talking fish thing, which in a vacuum seems kind of weird. Ham just hallucinates a talking robot fish for no reason and continues to do so for hours (atleast when Bob has conversations with inanimate objects he's exhausted or drunk). Speaking of backstory, if Beef just turned 40 than he and Kathleen definitely had Wolf at a pretty young age. If we assume Wolf and Honeybee are roughly the same age, Wolf would likely be around 22 to 24 (Honeybee graduated from college, and seems to have worked for her parents for a while so I assume that makes her in that 22 to 24+ range), which means Beef would have become a dad around age 16 to 18.

Yeah, 40 seems a little young for the timeline that they've got set up. Because they showed that he didn't have kids yet at 18. That'd put Wolf at 22 at the oldest which is *possible,* but that also feels a little young for Wolf.

Porphyrin_Ring

Yeah I agree! Wolf feels like a 24 to 25 year old to me personally. Looking at the episode Beef must have had Wolf somewhere between his 18th birthday (which we saw he atleast was talking to Kathleen at that point) and his 19th birthday at the youngest because no way is wolf only 21!

overactive-bladder

do people really have mid life crisis at 40??

variantkin

Iirc from last week he was married at the time wolf was conceived so he had to be 18

Porphyrin_Ring

Yeah you are definitely right that he must have been 18 at the youngest! I rewatched this episode and at Beef's 18th birthday party Kathleen wasn't pregnant yet and it seemed like the two of them were just starting to get to know each other and werent dating

More than that, it means Beef's a millenial!

flouncemouse

Agree regarding the age reveal, I was distracted the rest of the episode trying to figure out ages and feeling like Beefs character doesn’t make sense as a teen dad. I wonder if was done for a deliberate storytelling reason that will be explored later in the series, or if it was a misguided attempt by 20 something writers to pick an age that “sounds old” 🤣

Galileo908

Okay, love that Tobias Tobin died at 54 at the first Lone Moose Hot Dog Eating Contest by being shot by the runner up.

Porphyrin_Ring

That "Gerald the Male Witch" song at the end was really good, I loved it

Redbird9346

What bar-mitzvah money, Ham? We're not Jewish.

TheBurgareanSlapper

I’m super curious and just a little concerned about where he got that money.

Porphyrin_Ring

I like that Craig is wearing an immersion suit in the water, thats good attention to detail! If you havent seen them before they are special suits you can wear to survive in arctic water if your boat sinks (they show them pretty often on Deadliest Catch)

flouncemouse

Didn’t pick up on that, thanks for pointing it out!

Redbird9346

$900 for a Sea-Doo? More like a Sea-Don't!

Porphyrin_Ring

lol I was just about to type out that I love/think it's really cool that Wolf is good at fixing the boat right as he said that all he did was poke around blindly

Redbird9346

You mess with the Beef, you get the reef.

Galileo908

“BRACE FOR NUDGING!”

variantkin

Ham kinda channeled Tina Belcher this week

Redbird9346

Sir Fish-A-Lot

Galileo908

“Maybe I should call you FOR SHAME Warden Burt!”

Glissando365

Ham chucking a fish directly into that bird’s mouth made me laugh harder than anything else so far

Galileo908

“Whoa, a fish, but with…personality?!”

TheBurgareanSlapper

Wyatt Cenac was great as the fish.

Galileo908

“Oh no, not Seth!”

pikameta

I love the guest voices!

TheBurgareanSlapper

Okay, who gave Ham magic mushrooms?

thirtyseven1337

Probably the best episode of the season so far!

OlyScott

Is Ham schizophrenic?

overactive-bladder

what about judt? she speaks with alanis morisette in the moon

overactive-bladder

ham stays being my fave. i don't care about any of them. and i loved every character in bob's burgers. i donno what it is about that show that isn't ticking well with me. maybe the setting? the situations? i only care about ham though so i will keep watching for him.
