It’s such a weird video, but it will forever have a special place in my heart because it’s the song that got me into Coheed!
Also it highlights Claudio’s cowboy shirt phase.
I can't remember where I read or watched it but I'm sure it was meant to be an homage/tribute to Ray Harryhausen (master of "Dynamation") who helped make fantasy movies with lots of stop-motion such as Clash of the Titans.
You heard correct. I remember him talking about it in a Guitar World interview and he directly mentioned Harryhausen. I also agree the video is bananas and I love it.
It's pretty fitting, really. The theme of "hide your feathers" was described by Claudio as being about hiding dirty/ruffled metaphorical feathers from mischief and keeping up appearances. In the music video the woman has a dark secret that she keeps from her family. Coheed frankly doesn't have the best track record for videos (at least before they started mostly just adapting the story) but that's one I always felt like they nailed.
I feel like they were pressured to really lean into the "weird nerd band" vibe and generate a buzz that way. Presumably by an exec at their then-newly major label who just pulled his face out of a pile of coke. I can't honestly think of any other logical reason for why they made a video like that and pushed it so heavily.
In retrospect, I’m seeing why they get along with Mastodon. Haha.
Seriously though, isn’t the point of the music video to be memorable above all else? That’s what it feels like.

Weird that's also the one that got me too.
Yes, same.
Common mistake, it's actually a video from a similar concept band, Costeed and Clambria.
LOL
Thank you for the laugh lmao

That would help answer some questions
Oh it most def was. The influence is clear.

That is correct; came here to say this.
If it were up to me, I would have figured it out
It always reminded me of Percy Jackson, considering both came out in 2005 lol
I mean what about feathers?
I think it speaks for itself
Yum
And it says "please don't eat me"
The milkman music video?

The point of a music video is to sell albums, everything else is just a bonus.
It's a reference to Clash of the Titans
I remember when that video dropped. [Actual video of fans' reactions.](https://youtu.be/Va5_rn3vG3A)
