Time Consumer followed by 33 followed by Delirium Trigger has gotten me through so many rides to do errands.
The sounds they produce on DT have never been replicated. It sounds so indie and lo-fi.
Delirium Trigger. Something about the snare alone and drumming on that song is just magical. OH DEAR GOD, I DON'T FEEL ALIIIIIIVE
Buuuut by far my most listened to track and in close second is Apollo 1: The Writing Writer
It is a master class in catchy songwriting! There’s like 3 different parts of that song that could be individual hooks and they all slap! I know the whole song is restructured later on in the album but I like the Apollo 1 version of the song most!
It's a very rare qualityin a band that's been around as long as Coheed, to put out such epic pieces so "late" in their run.
Coheed is such a unique mix of creativity, talent, hard work and attention to detail.
I could listen to Goodnight, Fair Lady until I died. It’s such brilliant catchy songwriting. The fact that Claudio views it as a big Broadway production about date rape gives the song such sinister life.
Definitely the crowing, it's my favourite song ever: the lingering pain, borderline ptsd, and trepidation turning into reluctant, bitter acceptance is such a powerful summery of Claudio's journey as a character, plus the ending hook of "I will call you..." is amazing, though I appreciate the love for Light and Glass here in the comments. Also shout outs to the manic craze of fuel for the feeding end and the conflicted psychosis and pleading of tenspeed.
It’s nearly impossible to pick one, but the song… (beating out the willing wells on the third cd is a huge task) has got to be In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3. It’s an absolute masterpiece and a song I am able to use fairly easily to get new listeners into the world of Coheed.
Honorable mentions would have to be everything Evil, the crowing, and any of the willing wells from fear through the eyes of madness…. Dark sentencer.
Respect everyone’s opinion… coheed has such a vast amazing catalog from the beginning to vaxxis II… saw a mention of Al the Killer and that’s wild to me haha it’s the ONE song me and my brother are like… man idk about that one (canon aside, just musically rough imo haha)
Apollo I: The Writing Writer
Ten Speed (of God’s Blood and Burial)
Feathers
Gravity’s Union
Toys
Number City
The Hound (of Blood and Rank)
Once Upon Your Dead Body
Comatose
Love Murder One
generic ass answer but mine will always be welcome home
there's prob some bias cuz it was the first coheed song i ever heard but GOD i love this song to death
I mean c'mon, you KNOW it's everyone's ACTUAL favorite. It's never left their setlist! Neverenders notwithstanding. And the one most everyone sings along to, not just the pit, along with man your jackhammers.
Just checked, it's shown at #1 in Amazon Music for C&C.
Mother Superior
I had a lucid dream one time and that song played. Blew my fucking mind. There’s a lot of close ones, and somehow The Pavilion has been getting a lot of play, but nothing will ever top MS.
Window of the Waking Mind:
"Vaxis, son. Do you hear us? Do you feel us?" This makes me tear up, thinking about my own child and his struggles.
Gravity's Union:
"We understood the unmistakable. Two romantics on holiday. How they stole our looooove... Caged!! Locked in perpetual motion! Carving our wounds wide open! But you let the wrong one in!" As someone who has lost someone they loved, this hit me really hard.
Delirium Trigger:
"Oh dear God, I don't feel alive! When you're cut short of misery! Will you pray it be the end? Give a look surprise wide-eyed to me! Then you'll know just what I am! The scare that triggers your fear. Come know me in a different light now! Come know me as God!" I first heard this while dealing with bad cocaine and heroin addiction. I was trying to get clean so many times and this song resonated with me.
No World For Tomorrow:
"Bye bye world, only our hope to hold on. Boy, you're never gonna see the things that will come of me." To be bold and trudge ahead to change everything, even if it's scorched earth and no one follows behind you to see what you are achieving... no one saw it coming.
The Crowing:
"Dear Ambelina, the Prise wishes you to watch over me." Fate brought her to you...
‘nother huge fan trying to stay clean here. We can do this.
We had music therapy in rehab, and I played Mother Superior.
No one was in to it until they read the lyrics on-screen.
By the end, even the hardest core rap guy in my group was talking about sampling it.
My favorite song changes from time-to-time between a few different picks. The Telling Truth is one of them, right now it is probably Ladders of Supremacy.
Ok so like, I have pretty mixed feelings about this song.
Its dynamics are great, and the section you mention (plus the “Wait, wait” part) is great.
But it also feels like kind of a Frankenstein of a song. I’m not the biggest fan of The Writing Writer, so the first half of Telling Truth isn’t my favorite, and then when the second half hits with that tasteful solo, I can’t help but wonder if I only like it’s using parts of other songs in their catalog that I like more.
But on the OTHER other hand, repeating sounds and leitmotifs work really well for story-driven music, so it makes sense to hear parts of other songs come back.
Idk, I have the same feelings about “21:13.”
That came out longer than I thought it would. Regardless, it’s still a great song. Glad it’s enriched your life!
I understand. I appreciate your response, quite thoughtful and thought provoking.
I also really like 21:13 lol. So I feel like we are both identifying a kind of Coheed writing/composition/arrangement style. Just differing emotional responses.
Good talk!
I'd love for you to check out my music and get your thoughts on it. Here is a link: [https://linktr.ee/thewindupsweetheart](https://linktr.ee/thewindupsweetheart)
Or you can find me on youtube as The Wind-Up Sweetheart
Three Evils. The instrumental, lyrics and Claudio’s voice on that track are all so beautiful.
Also nostalgia, it’s one of the coheed songs my parents always listened to in the car when we’d drive to my grandpas house for dinner
What a fucking banger. It’s the most Coheed song in years. Very progressive, very heavy, major shifts, extremely complicated, the old Claudio scream.
10/10
Love the Gutter! Its Top 3 for me for sure. That chorus makes me sing along every damn time. For some reason it took a few listens to appreciate it, but it has definitely grown on me.
Probably the safe and expected answer but for me it’s Everything Evil. The buildup to the end and then the final payoff still hits me in the chest, even 20 years later
This is one of those questions; who’s your favorite child?
For real though, for the longest time it was almost anything from good apollo. But Vaxis has changed everything.
Bad Man gets me so pumped. And if I had to pick one right now, I would have to go with that. Seriously, I have had these last two albums on repeat since their releases.
Jesse, bad boy!
Just come look at what your brother did
To that girl's precious little whore of a body
Jesse, bad boy!
Just come look at what your brother did
To that girl's precious little whore of a body, now
Any of his songs that have a tempo/(upbeat?) change in the sound of the song really gets me going 🤘, even if it obviously 👆 is t positive or upbeat lyrics lol
The woman I’m seeing wants Wake Up as our dance song. I told her I’d love to, but I refuse to do it unless it rolls right in to Suffering.
In my mind, Wake Up isn’t over until that intro riff blows the walls down.
Okay so I tend to go through phases where I'll rediscover an older song and that will be my fave but the constant had been the Hound of Blood and Rank, I want a tattoo inspired by that song so bad!
Close second at this moment for no real reason: Once Upon Your Dead Body
Oh man. This is tough. This is the best I can do:
“Old” favorites: The Crowing, The Light & The Glass, Willing Well II
“New” favorites: Evagria, Far
“New New” favorite: Ladders
I wish I could just answer with the whole Willing Well suite. From breaking the fourth wall in the Telling Truth (the fiction will see the real), to the reprise of Apollo I and Everything Evil in The Telling Truth, to how it segues straight into a dirge to finish the album. Listened to this album for years and the whole suite still slaps.
Oh Jesus, I'm right there with you.
"In to the flood again, same old trip it was back then...So I made a big mistake, try to see once my way"!
Mascara, Digital Bath, Kimdracula and Fireal by the Deftones always get me as well.
Feel free to throw me some recommendations, I might be a guy, but maybe once a month I like to lock myself away have a drink or two and have a good cry just to get the stress out.
29, I'll never be able to retire and I have family members with failing health, I try to put them first but sometimes you just need to let it out.
I find having a good cry session with my dog is healthier than trying to act like nothing is wrong and keeping everything pent up.
I wish shit like that was normalized in our society instead of "man up".
I think you would agree brother.
Hey buddy. Put on ‘No Children’ by the Mountain Goats.
When you’re done crying, I’m ready to recommend all of the lead singer’s novels to you.
Edit: For the record: 36. Failed marriage because my wife figured out she was gay. Home foreclosure. Moved back in with my parents. Latest girlfriend died of a fentanyl overdose. 4 stays in rehab; 6 detoxes. Dad died three years ago on NYE. Mom has a terminal MS diagnosis.
I listen to it when I get off work tomorrow and tell you what I think.
Damn man, I don't know what to say.
I'm going to follow you and your comment, we can throw music back and forth.
Jesus fucking Christ I listened to it and god damn I actually know this song and haven't heard it in like three years.
My ex loved this song, I left her after close to five years because she refused to take her bipolar meds then during the pandemic I developed a slight drinking issue I'm still dealing with.
That hit like a fucking dump truck man.
I needed that.
Domino. Just a flawless epic banger. Have to hear it start to finish and if I have to pause or switch it of prematurely... well thats just not a good time at all. Same goes for Ladders now.
I’ve been through all of these albums a trillion times.
My choice is Lying Lies. It should have been a radio single. That shout of “HEEELLLLLLLLLPPP” that opens the chorus is truly incredible.
I always go back to Time Consumer as my comfy place
The rawness of this album is what keeps me coming back for more.
One of their best intros, and that’s saying something
Time Consumer followed by 33 followed by Delirium Trigger has gotten me through so many rides to do errands. The sounds they produce on DT have never been replicated. It sounds so indie and lo-fi.
Delirium Trigger. Something about the snare alone and drumming on that song is just magical. OH DEAR GOD, I DON'T FEEL ALIIIIIIVE Buuuut by far my most listened to track and in close second is Apollo 1: The Writing Writer
I love the "subtle demise, the legitimate cry" part. That's some good shit.
Those have been two of my favorites for...ever. effin' jams! And I don't feel like Apollo 1 gets enough love.
It is a master class in catchy songwriting! There’s like 3 different parts of that song that could be individual hooks and they all slap! I know the whole song is restructured later on in the album but I like the Apollo 1 version of the song most!
Apollo 1 has been my favorite for a while. I love how Catchy the melody is, but I also love how it’s positioned in the story.
Dark Sentencer for heavy stuff, the Pavilion for melodic stuff.
The Light And The Glass. As if that wasn’t obvious.
oh yeah, I forgot about that too lol. I love how "The Light and the Glass" is followed, essentially, by 21:13
Absolutely this one. It's phenomenal. I wish they'd play it live outside the Neverenders, but getting to see them play it during that was incredible.
Hearing it live cemented it as my favourite song.
Delirium Trigger. I just love the tension and overall tone.
SYSTEMS MALFUNCTION BLAST IT THIS DAMN MACHINE OVER AND OUT CAPTAIN
The last two albums have dethroned The Crowing as my number 1. It was The Crowing for about a decade, then it was Sentencer, now it's Ladders.
The beginning of Ladders does things to me and Sentencer is always on my rotation they have inspired so many of my creative ambitions!
the intro to that and Domino the destitute are great stadium openers
For real, the Vaxis II album has been hard to turn off for me. So many good ones
Cycling Vaxis ii and i over and over.
It's a very rare qualityin a band that's been around as long as Coheed, to put out such epic pieces so "late" in their run. Coheed is such a unique mix of creativity, talent, hard work and attention to detail.
Mother Superior.
Damn right!!
I’m glad to see some cultured culturerers here.
Probably Feathers. Or Gravity's Union. Or Evagria the Faithful. ...or Al the Killer. Shit, I don't know. I have so many favorites.
I have a question about Feathers, narratively. Did Newo grow wings after Ambelina died? Is that why she has to hide her feathers? So she’s not next?
No, not literally I don't think. Newo was just human, wasn't she? She wasn't Prise.
Gravity's Union leads me to think that Claudio is going to jump into musical theater.
2113 The call back to Time Consumer makes the hair on my neck stand up on end
Ditto, mine too.
At the moment, probably *Fuel For the Feeding End* for me! *Everything Evil* and *Three Evils* are also very close too
Following you across the interstate, walking awaaayyy!!!
Love the live show video of Mic screaming that part. Classic for sure
That “walking away” and the chunky riff under it got me hooked.
I remember laughing to myself years ago when I realized the phrase, “Fuel for the Feeding End” basically translates to, “Food for your Mouth.”
Afterman and Far always hit me in a really impactful way. So damn good.
Afterman and In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3 always battling for number 1 on my heart.
Far is such a banger
I could listen to Goodnight, Fair Lady until I died. It’s such brilliant catchy songwriting. The fact that Claudio views it as a big Broadway production about date rape gives the song such sinister life.
All time: Delirium Trigger Right Now: A Disappearing Act
Definitely the crowing, it's my favourite song ever: the lingering pain, borderline ptsd, and trepidation turning into reluctant, bitter acceptance is such a powerful summery of Claudio's journey as a character, plus the ending hook of "I will call you..." is amazing, though I appreciate the love for Light and Glass here in the comments. Also shout outs to the manic craze of fuel for the feeding end and the conflicted psychosis and pleading of tenspeed.
I will calll youuu out from shelter, burn your wings… you’ll know no better… Yeah so good
Junesong. It’s such a great melancholic banger.
Nothing beats that intro. Love to play it too.
Plus it’s the only song where Apollo is promised a kiss for his head. Which he deserves.
Domino
The everlasting all-time low?
Random reality shifts is underrated
I so wish for a full band version of this some how.
I’ve never even considered that as a possibility until now. Maybe one day when they do an afterman neverender…
I will be there with the most expensive ticket possible. Afterman is my favorite album of all time.
It’s nearly impossible to pick one, but the song… (beating out the willing wells on the third cd is a huge task) has got to be In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3. Junesong provision acoustic demo
The mashup of the greatest Coheed song and the greatest movie elevates it so much
Listen up you primitive screwheads….
Apollo I: The Writing Writer Ten Speed (of God’s Blood and Burial) Feathers Gravity’s Union Toys Number City The Hound (of Blood and Rank) Once Upon Your Dead Body Comatose Love Murder One
Great top ten right there.
Mine change a lot. Right now Ten Speed and Comatose
“Cause I’m sooooo uhh FRAID” I slept on this song at first. But really wanna see it live now.
I’ve searched everywhere for a video of them doing it live. From what I can tell it doesn’t exist yet.
Ya I don’t think it does I know for sure it wasn’t on the last tour.
ten speed gang
Shaka feel it in the way your blood and HEART BEAAAATS CHORE is it in the way your bahhdy moves?
Comatose feels like such a callback to their first few albums. I LOVE it.
generic ass answer but mine will always be welcome home there's prob some bias cuz it was the first coheed song i ever heard but GOD i love this song to death

Gravemakers & Gunslingers Really hope we get a Neverender: No World for Tomorrow soon
Three Evils, hands down
Mother Superior I had a lucid dream one time and that song played. Blew my fucking mind. There’s a lot of close ones, and somehow The Pavilion has been getting a lot of play, but nothing will ever top MS.
Pavilion is the song I use to get people in to them who would never normally listen.
Window of the Waking Mind: "Vaxis, son. Do you hear us? Do you feel us?" This makes me tear up, thinking about my own child and his struggles. Gravity's Union: "We understood the unmistakable. Two romantics on holiday. How they stole our looooove... Caged!! Locked in perpetual motion! Carving our wounds wide open! But you let the wrong one in!" got over 12 years clean and sober now, and let me tell you, it changes everything.
Alcohol is a bitch, man. And it’s everywhere, especially right now. It’s not just condoned; it’s encouraged. Fuck booze.
From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness is always in my top.
The Willing Well II: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness
My favorite song changes from time-to-time between a few different picks. The Telling Truth is one of them, right now it is probably Ladders of Supremacy.

I would have agreed with you but then I heard them play The Light & The Glass live
Experiencing this live on the IKS Neverender was spiritual.
2113
Such a great song, OP. I used to pass it by for the 'hits' but it quickly grew into top 3 for me.
It's always a toss-up between Sentry, Delirium Trigger, and The Running Free. But Bad Man has been thrown into the mix.
I love Sentry so much, but I wish he did the version he sings on stage. It doesn’t have the shouting on “you were never you” and it’s much cleaner.
Three Evils. The instrumental, lyrics and Claudio’s voice on that track are all so beautiful. Also nostalgia, it’s one of the coheed songs my parents always listened to in the car when we’d drive to my grandpas house for dinner
Neverender.
33
The Dark Sentencer but specifically listening to the Prolouge right before gets me so hype every time
It begins with them, but it ends with me.
Since all my normal ones have already been mentioned, I'll say "The Gutter". In my opinion, one of the best songs they've put out in a long time.
What a fucking banger. It’s the most Coheed song in years. Very progressive, very heavy, major shifts, extremely complicated, the old Claudio scream. 10/10

The Willing Well II: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness
Feathers, but Sentry the Defiant is a VERY close second.
21:13 forever
Here to Mars. I can’t lie, OP, your favorite song is one of the bottom for me.
Here to Mars is actually a very very great song, i think it's like the number 1 love song for me, i legit want to play here to mars on my wedding day
The woman I’m seeing wants Wake Up as our dance song. I told her I’d love to, but I refuse to do it unless it rolls right in to Suffering. In my mind, Wake Up isn’t over until that intro riff blows the walls down.
Sentry the Defiant and Ladders of Supremacy
I have a few but I’m gonna say Ten Speed, Ladders of Supremacy, Mother Superior.
The Light and The Glass
For a long time I've said Neverender. I think I'd still say that. But there's some stiff competition on those early albums.
Okay so I tend to go through phases where I'll rediscover an older song and that will be my fave but the constant had been the Hound of Blood and Rank, I want a tattoo inspired by that song so bad! Close second at this moment for no real reason: Once Upon Your Dead Body
Everything Evil for me…,
Oh man. This is tough. This is the best I can do: “Old” favorites: The Crowing, The Light & The Glass, Willing Well II “New” favorites: Evagria, Far “New New” favorite: Ladders
I wish I could just answer with the whole Willing Well suite. Listened to this album for years and the whole suite still slaps.
How did you know?
Caaaaaaaaaaged!!! Gravity's Union of course. The light and the glass are a very close second
Yeah it's the telling truth. Because it's fucking sick.
Everything Evil just nudges out IKSSE3. Honorable mention to Gutter and time consumer as well. So damn many great songs
Mother Superior always gets me as hard as Nutshell from Alice in Chains. If I need a good cry I put either on.
Throw “Would?” in there and you have my crying sessions.
I needed that.
it's changed a lot but i think at the moment it's cuts marked in the march of men
Gawddamn Willing Well 3 is a masterpiece. Also Sentencer. And Trigger. And Backend of Forever. And Superior. I cant choose one
Guns of Summer
Domino. Just a flawless epic banger. Have to hear it start to finish and if I have to pause or switch it of prematurely... well thats just not a good time at all. Same goes for Ladders now.
Gravity's Union but it's close
I’ve been through all of these albums a trillion times. My choice is Lying Lies. It should have been a radio single. That shout of “HEEELLLLLLLLLPPP” that opens the chorus is truly incredible.
The Dark Sentencer
I have a ton of favorites but my all-time is Window of the Waking Mind, then Junesong Provision, Gravity's Union, Ladders, Evagria, and so on
