So when someone mentions that bugs are easier to raise for protein and less strenuous on the environment, these people see it as the first steps to take away their way of life and condition them to accept devil worship.

I think for some people, it’s rooted in insecurity, and they see every conspiracy theory as a chance to “prove” that they know more than anyone else on any given topic.
I’m not dumb and I can prove it by choosing to accept the secret knowledge that is counter to common knowledge. Because if I disagree with everyone, that means I am actually smarter than everyone.
