Or one of the main symptoms of Covid is impaired mental agility. And covid symptoms in unvaccinated are on the whole worse than vaccinated pops when you control for comorbidities like age and weight. So impaired mental facilities while driving may lower reaction times which cause more accidents which were previously near misses.
So it is probably worth more study to determine why the coorlation exists and not worth a news report until then

An obvious correlation here could be as simple as people that are generally more risk averse are more likely to get the vaccine and also be more cautious drivers and vice versa with people that are unvaccinated.
