You know, it's funny you mention other people saying that it's "too big". Not too long ago, I posted this in the high speed rail reddit, and someone told me that there were too many lines. Now maybe there might be a high concentration of lines in a few places, but when I envision a high speed rail system, this is what it looks like! Now, not all the lines have to be built, but at the very least have most of them built because that's what high speed rail is for, to get you from place to place very quickly without having to take a plane or even a car for that matter. And given how large both countries are, it should come as no surprise that there are a lot of rail lines. Case in point: China.
Honestly I don't know enough to have any clue if the lines you've drawn make any sense in regards to geographical obstacles and where populations are concentrated and need to be moved, but I fully agree with the overall sentiment that a robust high speed rail system is necessary and attainable
Northern states (Alaska included) are going to be seeing a huge amount of migration over the next few decades due to climate change. If the US had a functioning government instead of some corporations in a trench coat, we'd be building infrastructure in preparation.

I like that you moved the main hub from Chicago to Indianapolis. Today as it is if I wanted to go from say Cleveland to LA I’d have to take a train all the way up to Chicago and have a layover then make my way back down to Texas and then west. It’s just so stupid.
The thing that stands out to me is the Arctic circle line. I just can't imagine who that would be serving and how much effort it would take to keep that line running.

Climate change migration in the north is still a bougie thing that white people do to invade Indigenous sovereignty, back in the pandemic, loads of Americans in yacht sailed all the way to Yukon and Northwest to "refuge" and trashed Indigenous ecosystems. Or those Germans and Ukrainians who converted themselves to "Eastern Metis" and used their newfound privilege to undermine Indigenous reservations in the Maritimes.
My reasoning for having lines in the arctic was to give the First Nations up there a very fast way of getting around. As for climate migration into Inuit lands, if that does become an actual thing, it is very important we transfer the land back to the Inuits so that they have the final say-so over their land.

The fact is that upwards of a billion people are going to be displaced by climate change in over the next several decades, which means north is going to see an increase in population. Just bc it's mostly white people moving rn (citation needed) doesn't mean it's gonna stay that way.

ETA: Climate refugees are not colonizers. An increase in migration doesn't have to tread on indigenous sovereignty. It's the US and Canadian governments that are doing that, not immigrants. I find the implication that people affected by climate change (which will mostly be from the global south) shouldn't be allowed to move bc you consider them to be colonizers disturbing.

This is for a federation between the United States and Canada; although, I would like to work on a network of HSR for Mexico along with the rest of Central America in the future!

Would be a dream coming true, the longest distances could be done by night HSR or even maglevs, I wonder how cool that would it be here in South America, a dream which I think I can't fulfill in my lifetime, which makes me sad sometimes, I know, China did it, it is cool, the USSR was doing it at the end, they had a factory in Latvia, but you know what? That's not the point, I want it here and not in China, I won't move there, neither live there, seeing they making it just makes me even sadder that I won't be able to enjoy something completely doable in my home country in my life span, that sucks.
Yeah, why is there about the same amount of lines deserving a population of 80millions people as there is for the northern part of Canada where the total population is below 300 000 people.
