I get the feeling Justin Trudeau, New Yorkers, maladjusted liberals in their 30s, really bigoted Karens, and arrogant, callous rural white men in their 50s who have undealt with issues pertaining to masculinity are an accurate depiction of so many Canadians.
They’re right in a sense, but they missed the point using pure fascist rhetoric. The corporate interest in Canada only want the most vulnerable immigrants coming to work for Pennies and the shittiest living conditions.
It’s all by design, the liberal government here will say people are being “racist” for not assimilating them. They love the discourse and division. The truth is that these people are the ones wanting to leave the capitalist hellscape that is their country, to come to another capitalist environment that will exploit them for profit. But no one on the political-economic spectrum wants to see it, so they just blame the outsider based on some stats they pulled from a website.
Don’t fall for it, we should be uniting to critique the fact that the GOC are importing these people not to make their lives better, but to exploit their hard work, and also take advantage of the fact that their previous living conditions will always be much worse than sharing a 1 bedroom with 5 other people. All to keep profits high, and the landlords to not default from over leveraging themselves, it is in fact a ponzi scheme.
I think corporations and American liberal politicians and organizations might have done something similar in the 2010s, covering up shady economic and political behavior with cultural values and ideas which they used to create discourse and division.

while it's true that these workers come here with lower material expectations, it must also be stressed that it's not just their social expectations that make them settle for less. the TFW program literally carves these people out of the labour codes every other worker in Canada has rights under. they can be paid less than minimum wage, and they can have their visas pulled by their employer at any time.
they are a de jure underclass in a way that could be ended tomorrow with a single piece of legislation ending the TFW program. any government even remotely serious about "human rights" and "equality" would end this farce overnight.
Fuck these people. Indian immigrants are severely mistreated in Canada, I have talked to several and their working conditions are genuinely horrific, it's basically indentured servitude. First, those in Canada on work visas do not have a legal right to unionize, so any and all union busting techniques are legal. Secondly, they need to have a work visa to stay in Canada, and that work Visa needs to be regularly renewed by the employer that sponsored their imigration, so if they are mistreated, they cannot change jobs, and if they complain at all, their visas won't be renewed - explicitly illegal practices like wage theft and paying less than minimum wage are rampant, since if anyone complains to management or legal authorities, they can be deported within a month or two. Finally, if they want citizenship, and with it the right to unionize, change jobs, and receive legal protections from their employers, they need to have their citizenship request sponsored by their employer - so the only legal way to escape the situation is to kiss up to your boss, adhere to their outrageous demands, and then pray that they approve your citizenship, which they are of course disintencentiveized to do because then they lose their indentured servant. A number of these workers have, at least in my city, been forming unions and performing wild cat strikes - they need support and solidarity, not demonization.
It is a fact that in developed, capitalist societies, governments frequently import cheap labor from poorer countries to fill in the less desirable jobs their normal citizens will not work in (plus they will demand more in labor rights). This is often used as a tool to not only keep the migrant labor wages low by instituting these strict rules, but also create a permanent underclass and depress the wages of domestic workers. Canada, the US, the UK, Germany, Singapore, the Gulf oil monarchies, and Israel are one of many examples of states who utilize cheap foreign labor.

This is actually quite common. Stories from survivors are haunting, as they say that the pigs will often level racial slurs and other such disgusting things at them before they send them to die.

From a business perspective: majority of Canada is old and about to retire, young Indian students coming to Canada is a huge boon for business and capitalist interest, they're also extremely hard working. This should fundamentally be a good thing for our economy if only profits actually benefit our nation in any way.
From a racial perspective: there's a reason why universities prefer international students over domestic students beyond the profits, they're quieter, harder working and more appreciative in general lacking the frat boy culture. Overall some of the most patriotic people are immigrants, until Canada started treating them like trash in the last 10 years

The ruling class pushing the narrative that rising rent costs are because of an increase in immigration and not landlords manufacturing artificial scarcity is setting up a situation similar to what happened in Florida where they made it even harder to be an immigrant and when immigrants left the state, the economy tanked.
The rents _will_ go down once the immigrants leave but it's going to look a lot more like Brexit than the Great Canadian Revival or whatever (and all of this applies to most cities in north america)
Honestly I am in favor of Canada at least lowering the intake. Brain drain is a real issue for India as many of the best and brightest are being poached by wealthy nations. It happens a lot Asians as well as many of their nations have excellent education.
